I kind of love all things lawns and gardening. Your hedging is great. I love seeing progress with the wind machine and the final reviews. I love it all. And, all while sitting in my lazy boy.LOL
Hi Mozza. I love watching hedge trimming. I currently follow 2 accounts that specializing in hedge trimming: kustorez and garden story. The kustorez guy always make hedging looks easy and fun (maybe because it's also his passion) but one time he made a video of him tidying his own lawn and guess what, he only have a small yard with two tiny topiary. 😂 Smart decision. Now that I heard why you don't like hedging job, it makes me appreciate lawn care professionals more. There's no trivial profession.
Thanks for the comment. I don’t mind so much the small hedges, but the big ones are a killer on your body. I prefer mostly mowing lawns and doing edges. That’s where my repeat work is anyways 😊 Yes I bet he doesn’t have a lot of big hedges. Very smart 😆
Love the work you do. A trick I learnt from a garden maintenance person (ex-apple orchardist) many years ago, was to put a large tarpaulin under the trees to catch all the "fall" from trimming etc. Makes it easy to gather up later and dispose of all the offcuts and leaves a beautifully tidy lawn/garden underneath with no/minimal extra work required.

I like seeing a little bit of everything, lawn work as well as trimming. So nice to see someone working that doesn’t hate plants and wants to do as much damage as possible. You do a great job! Congratulations on passing the 1K subscribers milestone, people can tell you do excellent work. 😎 Cheers from wet and gray sky California. -Brian
Thanks Brian! Yes have put a lot of work into the house front. I know it’s work but it’s worth it. A lot of people move into houses with beautiful gardens and they ask me to remove everything. Every hedge, plant, tree and vine so they can just have a fence and lawn for low maintenance. I always just refuse these jobs nowadays. I don’t like removing beautiful gardens. It just doesn’t sit right with me. Take care Mozza 🙃

Hi Mozza, great job trimming your hedges. One good thing is you can appreciate all your hard work as you come and go from home and see how nice and tidy the front looks. With the height and width of that hedge it would be backbreaking going up and down with that extension trimmer. Variety in videos is good so film all aspects of your work.
I saw someone on another channel put a tarp down first so when they trim the tree all the branches go right onto the tarp and it's much easier to clean up!😊
first time viewing. great job, makes a difference when its your own home. people might wonder about your yard and they see your in the yard business. always amazes me that when people have a yard full of greenery, trees, hedges, flower gardens . and they have numerous planter pots sitting around their yards with dried plants or no plants. gosh, you have all the greenery and you litter your yard with empty pots. maybe its just me. nice video, until next time.
I can understand your grief about tree and hedge maintenance. The physical activity is daunting. The immediate solution is to remove the tree if it is the bane of your existence, and cut the hedge by 50%. The privacy issue could be solved by installing curtains or one-way glass windows. You have a nice looking house camouflaged by enough greenery in the front yard to fill up a park. The end result was phenomenal, btw. As Ms Kimberly suggested earlier, you can hire someone to maintain the yard.
@@mozzasmowingGreat idea shortening the tree. Also the hedge! Right now, they are dwarfing the house. There is a similar issue in my apartment building. The front yard might be the same length as yours. A magnolia tree is dwarfing the strip of yard, and overhanging the sidewalk. It is also higher than the two-storey building. Yes you’re right. I seldom do big jobs like this one but it’s my tree so don’t have choice. Think I’ll take more off it next time so it’s easier to manage moving forward. Thanks for the support 😊
I’d trim the hedge down another 2.5 feet down. It will still give privacy & won’t be so hard to trim in the future. Also giving the canopy of the tree 🌳 more room to be a sphere shape. It is back breaking doing hedges.
I have had neck surgery and have a metal plate between several vertebrae. Watching this made my neck hurt! 😁I feel your pain. But you look hot doing it.

I love hedging, even a bit of topiary... but you do need the right equipment and a tactical approach... one tip to consider trying, lay down a tarp to catch all the clippings, and then just deal with them so much easier... don't leave them too long, or you'll need the pole saw attachment, because the hedger won't get through the thicker branches... that one is about the height limit before you would need a cherry picker / EWP which is a whole other expense and set of regulations and licences... Looks like the Mews / commons square out the front of you place is well maintained... council, or your personal efforts...?
Some people love it. I’m just not a fan especially since it’s not really my bread butter. Lawns are much less taxing but I do take them on during winter. Yer I have used the tarp before but it just takes more time in my experience as it all goes in the bin anyways. I do have the chain pole attachment. I’m think of taking a couple of meters off it next time because it is getting thick. Maybe I wont leave it as long next time but good chance I will 😅 Yer the council do a pretty good job out the front. Always looks tidy 👌

Sorry you hate the hedges. If you kept them short you wouldn't have to do it then so often. I know, the clean up after is more work in addition. But great work. Now you can relax a bit
You could take another metre off that hedge and it would still be too tall to look over but a lot easier to keep neat- you could do it from the ground with a long reach trimmer.
My flavour is everything about gardening pruning edging morning weed wacking and even removing plants for beautiful spaces and I love all you do.❤👍💯

Those shrubs haven't been trimmed in years haha. Doing everything for everyone else I bet it feels good to do it for your own yard : ) nice
That’s it. Always the last one 😄
Love that ladder, it's exactly what I need.
It’s a good one
Thanks for the comment 🙂
It looks fabulous….but my arms and back would have be gone l o n g before yours went. I believe you will do better if you tackle the things you do best and enjoy doing. Your quality of work will shine through❤ and be far more fulfilling for you and the viewers! An occasional hedge if you feel like it is fine, maybe just the redo on your own. No need to take on the things that take such a toll on you physically and possibly cause long term damage. You have a long career ahead of you! ❤
Good ideas 💡
I have had neck surgery and have a metal plate between several vertebrae. Watching this made my neck hurt! 😁I feel your pain. But you look hot doing it.
Unlucky brother. Hope your more more mobile after the operation. Thanks for the comment 🌞 Mozza
@@mozzasmowing less mobile but no more pain that precipitated the surgery, so I am happy with the outcome
💚👍👍👍
For something you hate, you are sure good at it!!
Thanks Connie.
8 years experience will do that 😅
New to your videos and enjoy them. What kind of tree and hedges are they. I need some evergreen plants
Glad you like them
The tree is a Cupaniopsis anacardioides, commonly named the Tuckeroo 🌳
Lol that’s typical. ❤❤😂😂😂
😅
Thank you 🙏 🙂
Ótimo trabalho parabéns
🙏
Maybe I wont leave it as long next time but good chance I will 😅
Yer the council do a pretty good job out the front. Always looks tidy 👌
Cherry picker would have been excellent today
Your lucky it only has to be done once a year great job
I know right! Thank you 🤩
Nice job.. curious, what brand of ladder are you using. Also. You hedge trimmer looks really long. Stihl combi?
Thank you.
It’s a gorilla extendable platform ladder. It’s a beast!
Yer I use stihl hedger with the additional extension pole

Dude - watching your clean up on your own house in time lapse was great. If you don't like doing your own house, then pay heed to Tarzan's credo = 'wise man needs little' - get a smaller house. 😁
😅 thanks bro
Just discovered you in Pennsylvania USA. I do enjoy hedge trimming for a change of pace but i love overgrown lawns. Where are you located?
Welcome Pennslyvania!
I am originally from England but now live here in Sydney Australia for most of my adult life.
Happy to have you on board. More videos coming soon 😃
You are so clever..using the tools (branch) nearby! Trimming makes me nervous. Trimming too much with gouges!😮
Haha. Still got all my fingers
Hello I Watching from Nederland
🇳🇱 That’s cool.
Welcome 🙏 😎
Why would you want a hedge that high. You can still have privacy half that height. Oh nicely done too :)
Been thinking the same thing 🙃
😊your job would be easier if you cut your hedge to half the height. It would still give you privacy but less ladder climbing. Nice job
Yes I’m tempted to get the chainsaw out next time
🙃
Mozza
Sorry you hate the hedges. If you kept them short you wouldn't have to do it then so often. I know, the clean up after is more work in addition. But great work. Now you can relax a bit
I know. Might take a couple of meters off next time 🙃🤷♂️
You could take another metre off that hedge and it would still be too tall to look over but a lot easier to keep neat- you could do it from the ground with a long reach trimmer.
Yes I may consider next time
Will need the chainsaw pole tho. It’s getting thick.
Mozza 🌳🌷🌺🙏
Great job, but I have to say I’m very glad we didn’t go for a hedge. 🇨🇦😎🇨🇦
Thank you. Yes it’s fine when they are small but taming the beast is another story 🤪
@@mozzasmowing
Absolutely! 😂😂
