Being constantly calculated in a system and given bad teammates, friends who suffer that try and play with you, matches that feel the exact same, it’s not a good look. I wish they’d just let us play. If they just gave us the old school matchmaking people would gladly keep playing. You’d figure that’s what they’d do if they care so much about retention.

Yep, I agree. XDefiant was a good example. I got away from FPS the last few years. I want to play games with my buddies, some of them just aren’t that good and we would get destroyed in CoD lobbies. We play XDefiant and have a blast. I wasn’t good because I was rusty for about a month. Now my worst games today are what my best games were 2 months ago.
COD is literally using their newer games like F2P Mobile games... make the game so easy that people think that they're the shit so you spend money on a microtransaction, then since you spent money on one purchase... you might as well get another one... and another, and another! Eventually, you're one of the whales and you've fallen hook, line, and sinker.

Since they did a blind test and got results I think they should do a test where they let the community know and see what happens. I feel like if they were in the know game retention might be higher
you can't make a big shift in your algorithm and not tell anyone then say it was because of 'x'. they don't know if it was because of 'x', if you're use to playing a game a certain way now all of a sudden there's a major change in your lobbies then that alone could be the reason. the more skilled players are probably still in 'try hard' mode, while the less skilled players are still in 'la la land' mode. before sbmm was this bad, I go into pubs in a relax state of mind, just looking to warm up. when I went over to ranked play I put on my try hard hat cause I know I'm playing players at my own level.

I went back and played DMZ with my friends just for some nostalgia, right? Know what I found? Having played XDefiant, since launch dang near, I am a much better player in DMZ than I was when it came out in 2022. I'm a much better sniper. I'm a much better AR player. My reaction times got so heightened having to play a game where, yes, the net code is sus, and yes, you will die behind walls. Ir's anecdotal, but I think XDefiant has made me a better COD player. 😂
I think we take these games so seriously is part of the problem. We used to play just to play and have fun. If you think about it, if after 1-2 games we feel we are in a sweat fest and getting destroyed, we might not be as good as we think. I don't see too much of a difference between xdefiant and COD, I get a mix of chill and sweat lobbies, I just don't take it so seriously.

They admitted to SBMM but not EOMM. They know they’d be cooked if they just came out in the open saying “yeah, if you’ve been winning too much the next match will be rigged to give you an L by stacking the other team with players of much higher skill”.
@@thomasj1026 I was playing ranked hardpoint on Sub-base the other day and noticed the spawns seemed to be plotting against my team. For example at p4 you can either spawn behind the fence right next to the point or at the other end of the map near p3. Despite us holding the point AND having teammates behind that green fence to deny the spawn the game still decided to spawn the enemy right behind us. We got wiped out and our spawns weren’t nearly as generous. Rinse and repeat this same shit happening for multiple points. I’m skeptical of the idea that they tweak in game stuff like spawns and weapon damage throughout the map to ensure you lose when they want you to lose, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
@gatlin1320 it's an algorithm that's paying the game along side you. It's simple thing's that can have major implications on outcome. How many times you empty a clip into an enemy and they don't die? Or you know you put the right shots on them but the damage didn't add up. Or you only see a head in your sights while sniping and it doesn't give you a head shot? If you play with controller you can tell when you are getting aim assist boosts. It will pull your controller even at long ranges but it's temporary. Like it turns on and off. Was playing apex yesterday and I aimed down sights and it instantly locked on to an enemy and pulled my sights. I didn't shot I thought that was extremely odd especially at that distance. Reset my scope and it wouldn't do it again.
I find it funny that activision still try to say its sbmm when its known that they use eomm and not sbmm. Even the wording they use in the blog describes eomm

I'm done with cod. I'm tired of having to sweet every match against 6 man squads while having to backpack 5 trash players who don't play the objective and can't get kills. Cod is for trash players who can't see that they are being played by Activision. I haven't played cod since ghost and Cold War was my first time coming back to Cod, and every game I played has been a sweet pit, and all I get on my team is trash players and all I play against is 5 and 6 man squads cod is just bull shit and a money stealing game now it's not for skilled players or players who want to improve it's just for trash players who enjoy being ripped off and think they are good.
COD is dead and not from a sales perspective or even a player count perspective, what made COD one of the greatest games ever made has died because of sbmm. that competitive nature of the game is no longer a thing. and people who have never experienced it just don't know how rewarding of a feeling it is when your bad and slowly start seeing your game improve over time. nor do they realize just how much time some of the good players have invested. and it's not right for those people who have put in the work to not enjoy the fruits of their labor hardly ever in the same way that it's not right that good players beat up on bad players every single game. and there could be a middle ground found that makes everyone happy but activision will never put in effort and money into finding it, and that's what pisses me off. activision just doesn't care about any of it. all they care about is money. and that 2% decrease in retention when sbmm is turned off only represents dollar signs floating out of the window. because if players aren't on the game they aren't spending money on the in game store. and this is why the good players that were on COD all play xdefiant. xdefiant is much better, sure it has its issues. but the community envolvement with the devs of xdefiant is unlike anything I've ever seen from any other game before. and its how i know they actually care about their player base. and they do this on a free to play game. and that's why xdefiant is way better than COD could ever be at this point.

Call of duty is the most casual of casual fps games out there. If the devs say all the casuals started getting off when sbmm was removed then they’re probably right. The high skill bracket can complain all they want but the game is catered and developed for casuals, thats where the money is , and that’s where the majority of their player base is. The creator of this video has a main argument that the glory days of call of duty was great and people stuck through it. But what youre not considering is those games didn’t make nearly the same amount of money that call of duty does now. Ever since warzone was released, call of duty became a joke and obviously catering to casuals that spend loads on cosmetics and bundles. Call of duty is dead , it’s been dead, time to accept the facts and move on.

I speak for most now when I say this. SBMM staying is almost a blessing for us as grown men with lives, jobs, kids etc. We could still drop 50 to 70 kills a game without it. But nobody wants to sweat everygame to make that a must anymore. I'm not trying to give my kid PTSD upset at a game everytime I play. I love the calm lobbies and the rare sweat for my life lobbies. Balance is needed in life. Xdefiant is a legit 98% sweat lobby pool. The SBMM videos are just a view grab now for the 1% who are still upset.

Sweats are genuinely everywhere now, people are much better at games than before. Xdefiant has more sweats than COD

I don't think I'm going to play BO6 at launch. I'll just keep playing XD and see what others are saying about the COD experience before I download it.

COD is dead and not from a sales perspective or even a player count perspective, what made COD one of the greatest games ever made has died because of sbmm. that competitive nature of the game is no longer a thing. and people who have never experienced it just don't know how rewarding of a feeling it is when your bad and slowly start seeing your game improve over time. nor do they realize just how much time some of the good players have invested. and it's not right for those people who have put in the work to not enjoy the fruits of their labor hardly ever in the same way that it's not right that good players beat up on bad players every single game. and there could be a middle ground found that makes everyone happy but activision will never put in effort and money into finding it, and that's what pisses me off. activision just doesn't care about any of it. all they care about is money. and that 2% decrease in retention when sbmm is turned off only represents dollar signs floating out of the window. because if players aren't on the game they aren't spending money on the in game store. and this is why the good players that were on COD all play xdefiant. xdefiant is much better, sure it has its issues. but the community envolvement with the devs of xdefiant is unlike anything I've ever seen from any other game before. and its how i know they actually care about their player base. and they do this on a free to play game. and that's why xdefiant is way better than COD could ever be at this point.

I remember playing 2019 and then swapping to star wars battlefront 2 back in the day, was shocking how ez and rekaxed battlefront 2 is in comparison

Call of duty is the most casual of casual fps games out there. If the devs say all the casuals started getting off when sbmm was removed then they’re probably right. The high skill bracket can complain all they want but the game is catered and developed for casuals, thats where the money is , and that’s where the majority of their player base is.
The creator of this video has a main argument that the glory days of call of duty was great and people stuck through it. But what youre not considering is those games didn’t make nearly the same amount of money that call of duty does now. Ever since warzone was released, call of duty became a joke and obviously catering to casuals that spend loads on cosmetics and bundles. Call of duty is dead , it’s been dead, time to accept the facts and move on.
No bs , played cod for while back og mw3 I used get Moab’s dropped on never leave the game but when I join bad lobby in mw3 😂😂 I ain’t going to lie . Like old games you cod still do good by yourself in a bad lobby . But now you get put on a losing team . With no hope doing good . Your Most likely to be one weak player . I speak for most now when I say this. SBMM staying is almost a blessing for us as grown men with lives, jobs, kids etc. We could still drop 50 to 70 kills a game without it. But nobody wants to sweat everygame to make that a must anymore. I'm not trying to give my kid PTSD upset at a game everytime I play. I love the calm lobbies and the rare sweat for my life lobbies. Balance is needed in life. Xdefiant is a legit 98% sweat lobby pool. The SBMM videos are just a view grab now for the 1% who are still upset.
Idk what you are talking about bc I’m in the same boat. Have a life, job, kids, etc and the lobbies I get are full of tryhards in warzone 24/7 I stopped playing. I have like a 1.0 kd so, nothing special. Yet I get demon lobbies constantly.

You sound like a kid that feels like they deserve something they didn't work for. Why should you get a free 1KD when you didn't earn it? If your skill level is a .5KD then that's what you should get.
