261hp is more than enough for a cruiser, i'd prefer to see you put the effort into tidying it up, wiring it properly and getting everything working properly.
I put a speet hut speed box in my 65 f100 to make my atock Speedometer work. It works kf gps or a vss signal front the tranny to run a stepper motor to a short cable
Fun little FYI to light those matches you pinch the head of the match between the cardboard with your fingers and pull the match out fast, they last for yonks, those are probably still good

It started so swimmingly, I recon we had motor in in less than a week than than wiring tailshaft fuel lines another week. Than gremlins for 5 weeks trying to make it run 😂 Have also been on 3 trip and building tjs Hilux and my drift car. So hard to say!

Make sure you do a stand alone transmission cooler to prevent it from milkshaking the fluid
