@@mario98730Yes! The writer's strike was peak late night comedy in my opinion as well. Which is ironic considering it was the literal writer's strike. Just goes to show how talented they all are all by their lonesome.
All the comedians particularly appreciate Sona. Shes a one person laugh track, but authentic and not out of place. I feel like if she wants to continue doing podcasts if Conan stops, she should just work with known comedians and be the sidekick... Having a energetic and humorous mood makes comedy flow much more naturally.
Two dudes that execs were giving a hard time in 1994 and David Letterman was savvy enough to publicly tell both of them "hang in there, everyone else is going to catch up to your talent."
Jon Stewart adapted so well in this interview, he is way more on-the-topic, tense and serious on his own podcast, I almost forgot this part of him. Also, we all know acceptance from others is not Jon’s fuel, this guy go against the whole media landscape on Iraq war, he quit right before the Trump era, he is still constantly criticizing the democrats even though he is 120% voting for Kamala.
Exactly. Conan could never do a political show because he couldn't handle the criticism - even though he might do that stuff in private for his friends.
It's a joy whenever Conan talks about working in comedy. I could just listen to him talking about how it was like working on his show and on other things for hours.
OMG. The interview I didn't know I needed! It's scary to watch this because I'm the same age as these two and I total get what they mean by "the 1990s still feel like the present tense." How did we get this old?
Man, this takes me back. The best thing about Daily Show in the early 2000's were Jon Stewart's asides after they played a clip of the news. A quick wit with a semi-impression of a certain type of individual giving a response. I laughed heartily here with him doing the same thing again.
Omg. My 2 most favorite comedians in one setting!!! I love all of Conans guests, but been waiting for him to sit with Jon again for ages. Incredible men, both of them ❤

I really like Jon. Smart and funny AF. Also, National Lampoon was AWESOME! Bit's like "Stereos and such" were HILARIOUS! I still have the CD somewhere here.
In the 90s, the zoo I worked for were the "animal people" for the Conan show, and we did a Jon Stewart show or two. Both real guys, they are the way you see them. Andy and Regis Philbin, also, were the people you saw on the tube. Nice people, funny guys.

Great episode - 2 comedic geniuses! And thanks for the City Gardens shout out. This TCNJ alum who used to go there wayyyy back in the 90s (before Sona’s cultural references 😅) appreciated the shout out!
I hate when Matt Gourley is absent, but at least it happened during a Jon Stewart episode, which helps to satiate the pain. Love Jon Stewart: he manages to be a true, rational, independent voice and not be a sell-out for the Democratic political machine, aka his Friend Colbert.
Right? He even "stole" Brian stack from Conan's writing room and even Stack hasn't done anything remotely funny in a decade. If you think back to all his classic bits on Conan...
Didn’t even know this duo was an option, I am amazed that Conan sees someone else as the Mozart, the prodigy, an untouchable talent, because I cannot be the only one that sees him that way
Eddie Murphy IS the most talented person on the planet. Glad Conan agrees wholeheartedly. A lot of young people are unaware of just how much he's done.
Fun funny, interesting conversation Conan and Jon. Born in the 50's Anglo-Celtic immigrant.Always loving the comedy and stories guys...Corrections: No one asked for,! ? Mickey Rooney on Conan 1994m was just 73 years old, not 90. Was married to his 8th wife in 73 as well. Haha David Spade and Nathan Lane were in a sitcom with Mickey back in 82
Jon, "I need a Sona." On The Problem With Jon Stewart, both Henrik and Jay would be sooo excited to hang out with Jon. On the other hand the Producers, usually they were Producers, and all of them women, would be sooo serious. That contrast always cracked me up! BTW, I think I'm the Angry Announcer Character... To see Jon interacting with Sona is like seeing Elvis interact with Julie Andrews, for me. They're both so important to who I am. And there's this guy Conan there, too. He's funny.
Of all the guests that need a full episode upload, Stewart is it
100%
Agree, but also, Nealon, Short, Olyphant, Carvey, Hader, Ford, Goldblum and more. lol

3 😅
A sitcom laugh track is a legend now?
Two decent performers at best.
Sona missed a golden “Bingo” opportunity when Conan said, “Jesus Christ”.
Well, that is from before she was born
"Hey, there's nothing politically incorrect about saying I gift you this woman!"
That was very generous of him. He could have, at least, gotten a dozen goats for her.
