Listening to Flip is like sitting with your Uncle or Grandpa. I could listen to this man all day long
We agree. Stay tuned….much more to come.
2:40 Flip casually flips a bottle cap into his shades like a sharp shooter
He’s Flip after all. Thanks for watching.
We know them as Manley Pliers today but they were actually designed in the early 1900’s here in the US as Bernard Pliers. There’s a reason this old design is still around, it works!
Thanks for watching and sharing.
I remember watching Walkers Cay Chronicles, and noticed Flip wirh his pliers in the leather holster. I was determined to get my own pair.
He always has them on his hip!
A long video to talk about Manley pliers and it was such an enjoyable discussion. Just sittin around with flip, poppin beer bottle and talking about Manley pliers! Might just have to replace my 25yr old, rusty jaw, no bottle opener Able #4 with a Manley!
Thanks for watching!
I have a treasured pair on Manley pliers that I have used for 20+ seasons. Best pliers on the market.
Thanks for being here. We agree!!!
Can these replace nippers? Great video gentlemen, thanks.
For larger diameter lines for sure. Not the best for trout sized stuff.
Hey guys awesome video and channel
I just purchased a pair based on this vid
Just a question, on the yellow plastic cover that fits over the steel handles, how do you get them to stop twisting/ pulling off slightly after use?
I make heavier duty leaders and rigs, and when pulling hard on the pliers' handle the plastic covers seem to slip off the steel slightly
Thanks again
Thanks for watching. Please send your questions directly over to the shop and they will be happy to help. You can email them or give them a call.
Question! How many takes did it take Flip with opening the bottle? Be honest.
Not sure. You'd have to check with Brian on that.
This may sound selfish, but I hope Flip out lives me. What a treasure
He may well.....no signs of slowing. Thanks for watching.
Another world 🌍 class docudrama by a bearded old geezer fly fishin icon from the drug runnin / sex crime “territory “. This time about the glory years of pliers.
Thanks for watching.
Dad just educated son on how to open a beer bottle
I did this with my son on our yearly trip
I told him how a seatbelt works on higher quality beer than bud light
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely the best pliers that I have. Use WD-40 on the connecting points, the wipe them off and remember to rinse them off after a trip to the salt.
Thanks for watching. You don't spray them with Rust-Oleum paint like Brian did?
Have these pliers always had the Teflon coated jaws?
We much prefer the teflon with the coated handles. Those are the ones to have....and the ones that we sell.

When a salesperson tries to sell me an expensive pair of pliers, I always ask, how many fish does it catch.
Thanks for watching.
How many fish does a cheap pair catch?
What are those shoes you’re wearing Brian???
They look like the offspring of those 1980’s Colorado hiking boots and a pair of cowboy boots! 😂😂😂
Thanks for watching. You'd have to check with Brian directly on that. He can be reached through the shop via e-mail or phone. He doesn't come around here much.
They look like LEMS made in Boulder,CO.
You didn’t explain what I’d use them for
As pliers…..they are pliers. Thanks for watching.
Well I just learned somthin new...
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching!
