Oss, it's very interesting to see how different instructors and Sensi's terminology change from person to person and just to see the minute differences in how people move. Also, it's really cool to learn and observe variations in techniques and sort of see how essentially the same move can be different in just the slightest ways from person to person. This video explained things in a way that is totally different than what I would learn in our Dojo, and I definitely learned something from it. OSS.
HRDaChief how nice of you to reply I've been watching your videos and practicing at home I'm a brown belt in Shotokan and now thanks to you more than ever before I can take my Karate with me
If I ever go back to Walmart I'll try these techniques out for myself wasn't a flatable punching bag it could come in handy when practicing against your techniques and body and mind a movement and all depends on how you do well as practice makes perfect union and more more sink more you practice better you become and the stronger you get 🥋💪😉👍🥋
Karate actually does have hook punches. Unfortunately many dojos seem to forget that and don't practice them much. I believe the long hook in called "mawashi zuki" and the short hook is "kagi zuki."
That "poor guy getting hit" is actually me, thank you, but I will tell you that I wouldn't have it any other way. Despite what it looks like Sensei Hotton has an incredible amount of control of his techniques. What he hit me with wasn't even half strength.

this guy made me realise and perform hip stuff. thanks!
He is so good and explains so well. I really consider to join his Sunday Morning Keiko.
Dude how does he keep his sleeves rolled up with that kinda power?!
Thank you very much Sensei. Student from Sydney, Australia.
Very concise explaining & demonstrating ! Lovely 😊

Sensei make a workout to makiwara
Oss...plz make another video about hip rotation!!!
I learned something that I never learned before in 28 yerars of practice
yes .. I was pretty sure I wasn't crazy talking about the 3 axes of hip-rotation. Maybe it was Hotton Sensei from whom I heard it first. 👍✌️
In my dojo we rotate our hips sometimes to the different direction :D do you know why?
Aikido, even in martial arts, is different in technique and practice because of the technique of Tenchi Harmony and the founder Morihei Ueshiba.

Are you coping hooks from boxing?

your movement is nice, but i want to see you fighting. As we know, you also need positioning and timing with your power
Oss!
fabuloso Sensei sabe lo mismo que los que hay por acá , estoy hablan do de 8 dan, como Okuda o Inoue
poor guy getting hit surely doesn't like it.
As someone who has been hit with that punch, albeit with control (it was during a demo), I can tell you that it is every bit as lethal as it appears.

HRDaChief ah good I'm glad you confirmed you're ok with that, it seemed kind of rude of him to hit you even like that outside of a sparring situation,
@@HRDaChief and considering he's what.. in his 50s? 60? That's truly terrifying.
@@Maverick092DED 60's.
Pick on the big black guy.
That poor Uke....
