2:55 Context: In Greek mythology, the Lethe was one of the five rivers of Hades (the underworld). The shades of the dead were required to drink from the Lethe in order to forget their mortal lives and be reincarnated.
The other rivers of Hades are the Phlegethon, the Cocytus, the Acheron and the Styx, the latter two of which are the roots of the English adjectives 'acherontic' and 'stygian' respectively.
Ultima, the Step-Up from Ardyn and the recall from Final Fantasies 1-10 we all deserved.

I love the Japanese undertones and then the epic overtones. What a soundtrack, what a boss, what a game.
One thing I enjoy is the poost apocalyptic reveal of Ultimas origins. Valisthea may have been as big and dear i say diverse as games like 6 and 9 but Ultima and his race ruined and set that world into blight millenia ago😢
Soon… Ultima Risen shall be upon us and I will listen to it like a million times.

I didn't think about that until now but you're 100% correct. A god that demands absolute obedience, doesn't give much if anything in return and doesn't really seem to "get" humanity. That's a whole lot of check boxes.

Granted, all the performers are japanese, so probably why it sounds like a different language lol (except do or die or Titan lost, both of which were sung (rapped?) By Koji fox xD
I know, right?! I'm pretty bad with lyrics even at the best of times so when I first watched one of these and realized that it was kinda mind blowing. Like the person above me said part of the reason it's difficult to tell is simply because it's a Japanese choir so they aren't pronouncing it 100% correct but choirs in general tend to be harder to understand, especially when belting it out as loud as possible or speed singing (or vice-versa, stretching words out to fit a beat).
Soken is the composer, so almost all are in English.
Its funny how god final bosses like Zansa (Xenoblade Chronicles), Yaldabaoth (Persona 5), Deus and Ultima are basically the exact same character in personality and similar motivations. But each one brings something to the table 😂

Well, in the case of Zanza, Deus, and Yaldabaoth, the similarities are because they're all inspired by the Gnostic Demiurge.
Demiurge means Creator in Greek.

It’s one of Ultima’s letimotifs, you can hear it for the first time in the prologue when the hooded man appears.

I actually love first half of this song, but dislike second half. it's too much of a dramatic shift. most of his shifts I usually like, but I think on this song it's too hard too fast.
It’s a paradigm shift from minor to major, it’s jarring because we’re listening to the music out of the context of the narrative it was composed for. It’s like a musical representation of rotating a chess board. Cheating death, breaking the rules.
Plus, I'd say this also fits with this song being a battle for the AUX cord between "Find the Flame" and "Logos". This is the point in the final battle where both parties are in parity and battling the hardest for control of Clive's body.
It’s the other way for me it’s so epic it starts up hopeless and then get into a heroic end love this song
I like the shift because the first half is before Ultima has the eikonic clash with Clive and the second half is where Clive is getting the upper hand after overpowering Ultima’s first three eikonic abilities.
