I bought my Madbull when they first hit the market and so glad I did. There have been several trips to the lake and it’s literally been the only rod I’ve fished all day. You could literally own 2 of these rods and an FMJ and not have to buy another fishing rod for every Bass fishing technique.
Amazing vid-you are 100% right that most people can’t afford to spend $350 (Orochii) let alone $500 (P5) on specialized rods. So telling us which models are best for multiple application “junk” fishing is brilliant. I already started my P5 Dark Sleeper fund! Question: would any of the Exprides-or any other rods-also work for junk fishing in the $250-$300 range? Thanks, and also thanks for getting my order this week out so fast! Keeps my bait 🙈 fed.
I picked up a Levante Shakyhead rod last year and really liked it as my only spinning rod. Used it for dropshotting, wacky rigging, finese swimbaits, free rigs. I liked it so much that I went and got an Orochi, thinking it'd be an even more sensitive version. The Orochi has a bit stiffer tip, but honestly it isn't that much more sensitive. It wasn't worth the extra money, but I kept it anyways and sold off my Levante. The Orochi isn't a bad rod, but if you're expecting a huge leap from Levante to Orochi, it just isn't there. In my opinion you're better off with a Levante to save a bit of money.
Glad the Shakeyhead is working like that for you! It's a great all around rod! The biggest difference between the Orochi and the Levante is the taper. Levante is softer, which can make it better or worse depending on what you want the rod to do. It's also different rod to rod. I agree the Levante for a lot of things is as good or better.
Not so fast, Ben. The Baccarat is one of the most versatile rods I've ever owned. It can do anything heavy. Also, just for grins & giggles, I'm throwing a 1/2 oz. dark sleeper on the pop it rod. These Megabass rods are so versatile.. Explore & test their limits.. They are so much fun. For pond fishing, my 2 go-to's are. Pop it & bait finesse. I'm trying to control the predators(mouths). So anything under 14". When I go to the lake. It's the Madbull, Baccarat, and the Wind-buster & a couple of NRX'S. That are my go-to's. Let's go fishing..
The Megabass cyclone (1/4 to 7/8 ounce) and killer code (3/8 - 2 ounce) are regular action rods. They are shorter at 6'6" which makes them great for fishing in ponds around brush and trees in which a longer rod would not perform well. I have no problem fishing treble hook baits, single hook baits such as jigs and worms up to 1 ounce. They are suprisingly sensitive and good for bottom contact.
Ben, is the Perfect Pitch too stout? I’m so torn between the XX Diablo and the Levante Perfect Pitch because it is softer. Also debating the X-Bites. So torn.
@@thehookuptackle_usa thanks to y'all I saved money on rods. I bank fish and those 2 rods replaced 4 for me now I just carry 2 and sometimes 3 when I feel the bfs urges haha

Got a question on the Daemos, where does that fall into the "junk fishing" rods? Thought that one would have made the video. But haven't been able to fish it.
Looking at picking up a Levante power pitch for throwing a 6" Magdraft, I throw the Freestyle a lot with a beast hook as well, would the Levante be too soft to handle that hookset or still good to go? Thanks!

How would you classify the Valkyrie World Expedition 5'8", VKC-58ML-4? I can't find reviews of the rod anywhere, but I have a feeling it could be a sleeper out of the bunch
So, OK, I make lures -- So, you have a lure, any lure that turns on its side, look at it from the front [treble]; does it have two on the right and one on the left? That is wrong, add a split ring and get it one down and two up. If you have a lure like I make with circle hooks and it turns on its side; put it in the vise and take the twist out of it. The point must be in line with the shank of the hook or it is going to yawl the tow. The second option for a deeper flawless tow is to add a small swivel between the body and the hook. It can do what it wants without yaw. Many hours in the goldfish pond have taught me a lot. Tight Lines.
thanks for this explanation I'm going to start predator fishing on pike and pike-perch I want to fish with shads fishing on rivers the depth goes up to 3 meters I have this rod in mind the megabass cookai model number CK-810MHS or model number CK-83XXHS I want to use small to large shads I only see good reviews of Mega Bass If you start with one fishing rod, you will certainly add more rods If you want to learn predator fishing properly first, I fished for carp, which is a completely different way of fishing Regards
For Pike and Pike Perch I would recommend something with enought backbone to be able to set the hooks, because Pike Perch jaws are pretty hard. I don't know the exact model you're looking at, but MH should be good for it. I am looking at a Megabass rod for the same exact purpose, Pike and Pike Perch :) Also torn between two Levante models, either get a MH or H, haven't been able to decide yet.
I am looking at the Levante Diablo Spec R, would this be ok for running medium crank? This will be my first pricey rod, just want to make sure it's pretty versatile..from what you guys are saying it sounds like it might be the one. Might just bite the bullet and go with the Orochi. Decisions!
For mainly crankbaits I think the Extreme Mission Type F is more versatile, it is similar but a little longer for making longer casts to fish the deeper crankbaits more efficiently. It can still do some of the single hook baits like a chatterbait or spinnerbait too
Timing is perfect. I am searching for a rod to throw heavier jerkbaits. A one ounce Pointer or similar. Love my Destroyer P5 Oneten Stick, but it is a little light for a Pointer 128. Any other specific recommendations would be appreciated.. Thanks Ben
@@thehookuptackle_usa Thanks guys, I found two Megabass Orochii XX Diablo Spec R's at my favorite local tackle shop. They only have one remaining now. Gonna give it a try tomorrow. It looks great so far.

Both of those could have been added - but there won’t be any Triza production for a looooong time so we wanted to speak about rods that people could actually source.
If I fished banks, I would have two spinning setups, 7ft is to long if your under 6 ft. @@thehookuptackle_usa lol, love that guy..when your on your rig you have more hight to work baits with your rod tip down.sometimes banks are like jungles and the longer rods and casting rods can put you at a disadvantage. Great show!
Ben what rod do you recommend for Texas rigged z-man boar hogz, Senko, or traditional creature baits with 1/8-1/4 oz weights and 1/4 Oz micro jigs like the Catch Co tightrope jigs?
I throw my light jig and texas rig stuff on the Megabass XBites. But, if you're throwing micro jigs or tiny plastics, you'd be better off with the P5 Baitfinesse rod or 852 NRX+.
I own both the bait finesse and xbites. My most used two rods since I love bottom fishing. The bait finesse is PERFECT for 1/8 and 1/4oz. I have it paired up with 10lb braid and an Aldebaran and it’s super light. Throws small spark Shad’s and keitechs VERY well. Have fun!

I am the junk fishing MASTER. Lol. Id say almost all my rods are junk fishing rods. Lots of med and mh mod fast more parabolic rods. Lots of rods that can throw moving baits and t rigs both. I do need a good jig rod, like for regular pitching and flipping stuff.
Many people consider G Loomis line of rods the best. But you guys never ever mention the collaboration between shimano and G Loomis, which is the Conquest rods. It's always in your video intro to every video. They are super high-end rods and have MBR actions that cover many abilities to fish. From finesse to heavy 3oz weights. 13-16 rods total. But no love or video time or opinions on the rods.
Actually, if you go back through our videos over the last couple years you'll hear Conquest spoken about a lot. We don't use many Conquest anymore since everything has caught up to them or surpassed them, but they're still excellent rods, and there are still a couple models in our lineups.
Gonna be honest I own the 7’6” conquest it’s an amazing rod but for a couple hundred less no way I’m buying another Conquest over a Megabass P5 that’s just facts.
After Chris interviewed rod manufacturers from 13 fishing explain the industry if your paying 300$ or more you getting scammed, be mindful it was a great watch
You mean the guy who's paid by 13 fishing talked shit about their competitors to make 13 fishing look good? Wow, who would have guessed... It must be true.
You guys should let me make an intro video for you guys. I’m a videographer that loves to fish. Let me know if that’s something you guys would be cool with
There were probably folks that thought you were talking about "junk" (not good) fishing rods, then you said A.R.M.S. and the 💡 came on... 🤣 You gotta quit making so many videos, they always seem to end up costing me alot of money! 😆
I have a bunch of Xprides and E6X rods what would you guys rate the P5 on sensitivity vs my rods now and do you think that you are able to detect bites that u would have missed with an Xpride or E6X loomis
E6X Loomis is not even close. Expride is a great rod. Depending on the model and what you’re using it for would depend the answer, but I find the P5 in general to be more sensitive and more fun.
@@thehookuptackle_usa I’ve currently have xpride meduim glass for cranking small chatter baits can’t really feel anything though down falls of glass I guess. My other xpride is a med/heavy 6”8 I believe and I use that senkos believe it or not jerk baits because I love the fast action when snapping the bait I know that you lose a little bit in the parabolic area but haven’t really lost fish with it I drop shot on that rod as well.
Just wonder about slack line sensitivity with senkos mainly. I get worried that the fish may be sucking it in and spitting it super fast without me knowing. Also would be nice to be able to know when I am dragging over a branch vs rock I can sometimes with the xpride buts that my main thinking.
@@hunterbull7804 If I was going to junk fish with a spinning rod, the windbuster would be the one - and you know that. But I wouldn't choose a spinning over a casting for traditional junk fishing, which is why it's not on this list.
1st great and super informative video. Not saying any of these rods aren't great, I know they are. But. Basically these are prolevel rods. 250+ is awfully high for the average angler. Although, "average" anglers may not be the target market for you guys or megabass. Great products regardless. Have thrown a few other buddies have, they seem GREAT! BUT!!! that price tag is NOT.
So sorry, no one has answered your question over the past 7 months! It just means trying a bunch of different techniques. A rod for junk fishing means it’s a rod that is good at many things, but not specifically great at any one of them. Not sure if you were serious or not, but that’s the answer for anyone who genuinely wants to know.😊
yeah cool i bought a 17,34$ rod when i was 15 i am 32 now and its still working i fish like 3-4 times whole day fishing trip per year LOL 100$ rods are so cancerous
"Junk fishing"? Right. In a time before hipster turds, pronouns, and treble hook PTSD, it was simply called "fishing" and knowing what to throw in whatever circumstances you were met with. Success was directly tied to actual knowledge and experience, and not a dependence on marketing fads and gadgetry.

Do you guys have a section for 2pc rods on site ? Or do you guys mainly have 1 pc rods ?
There's not a specific section, but there are options there for 2 pc, 3 pc and 4 pc.
Would you happen to have the name of the 2 pc Megabass rods ?
@@thehookuptackle_usa trying to gift a megabass rod 2pc any suggestions?
@@marthahurtado1320 try looking at the triza rods, they’re 3 piece tho but there is a model for pretty much every bass fishing technique, although I don’t know if they have any in stock at the moment
@@Umipunpun I saw they had an orochi xxx scramble tour but it was out of stock 😢
Megabass calls the Orochi Diablo a medium but I think it's more of a MH. Maybe a light MH.
I lug 14 rods out in my kayak. I think I have a problem 😄
A good problem 👍🍻
Can’t stand the little triggers on the reel seats but they are the best looking rods.
More ned rig is videos please.... just kidding. Love the content.
I got a basspro commercial before this vid. Lol
Make sure to click their ad to see all the crap knockoffs of the real things that we talk about.
@@thehookuptackle_usa there needs to be more than a thumbs up for comments like that!
@@thehookuptackle_usa their bassmega livedo flapper crazy 3500 is a hot ticket tho
@@efrainsandoval6480 That sounds awesome, I need to order some, lol.
Chris who I'd love to see this interview
You mean the guy who's paid by 13 fishing talked shit about their competitors to make 13 fishing look good? Wow, who would have guessed... It must be true.
Megabass P5 is so far superior to anything 13 Fishing makes..
No one holds a gun to anyone to buy expensive rods
You guys should let me make an intro video for you guys. I’m a videographer that loves to fish. Let me know if that’s something you guys would be cool with
Advertising stuff that is never in stock is cold blooded. Been waiting on the madbull for a bit and seem to miss it.
Madbull will be in this week
@@thehookuptackle_usa hell yes
@@thehookuptackle_usa ordered!! And some other stuff.
Try NFC blank
There were probably folks that thought you were talking about "junk" (not good) fishing rods, then you said A.R.M.S. and the 💡 came on... 🤣
You gotta quit making so many videos, they always seem to end up costing me alot of money! 😆
Thanks for watching man! Maybe we'll block you from some videos so you're not tempted?
@@thehookuptackle_usa 🤣...hey now, I don't know if I like that idea either. I'll just continue to feed my addiction!
I hate that I found this channel. Now I want to buy all jdm stuff lol
I use my p5 super destroyer for everything
Another amazing all around rod!
Would BMG compare to Brailist?
No. Light years ahead of Braillist.
What techniques other than its intended “bottom bait” application would the Brailist be good for?
@@SamAndSamuel I'm not a fan of the Braillist personally, but guys use it for small swimbaits and some light duty pitching.
@@thehookuptackle_usa 👍🏻 thx for the reply. Keep the videos coming. Do a whole video on the TS destroyer blackjack.
One rod to Conquer them all.
I can’t believe the Windbuster isn’t in the description. It’s the only spinning rod I own, and it catches more fish than any of my other rods
Well, we’re not talking about that style of fishing in this video.
Yes but no. I think I’d consider it able to “junk fish” because you can throw a texas rig, jerkbait, crankbait, and some more on the same rod
It really is the best “do any and everything” spinning rod.
@@hunterbull7804 If I was going to junk fish with a spinning rod, the windbuster would be the one - and you know that. But I wouldn't choose a spinning over a casting for traditional junk fishing, which is why it's not on this list.
That’s because they ALWAYS talk about the Windbuster 😂😂😂
Can't believe no Tequila Baccarac Junk Rod? What about the "Jeffrey the King Junk Fishermen"? 😉
It could have made the list for sure!
I wish I could have 5 Mad Bull
Now I thought we were fishing for Carp, Catfish or Sheepshead...
EMTF don’t get no love…😢
Ahh, it could have easily made this list - it's such a sick all around rod!
What is junk Fishing?
So sorry, no one has answered your question over the past 7 months! It just means trying a bunch of different techniques. A rod for junk fishing means it’s a rod that is good at many things, but not specifically great at any one of them. Not sure if you were serious or not, but that’s the answer for anyone who genuinely wants to know.😊
And Robertson catching em on an ugly stick. Some people are very shallow if you know what I'm saying.
yeah cool i bought a 17,34$ rod when i was 15 i am 32 now and its still working i fish like 3-4 times whole day fishing trip per year LOL 100$ rods are so cancerous

@@thedude9001 I used to own a destroyer.
These rods are for fishermen that don't get
