@@RennieAsh I sincerely hope so ! The last time this happened to me was either earlier this year or possibly the end of last year , so it might have been fixed with a limit .
@davidgood840 There was supposed to always be a limit but it got removed at some point. I think it was an oversight but not that long ago it was still broken im not sure if it's been fixed. I honestly dont think so
there was a bug sometime ago that would lead the game into an infinite pause loop that you could not recover from if they spammed pause. So many %$#&*%$ did this to us on team ladder after they were dead.
Yes, I used to love doing this pausing trick to people all the time, unfortunately they did fix it, and now the ten pauses you get is a hard limit so you have to use your ten pauses a bit more strategically now. If I am losing I am not leaving until I have used all ten.
I feel like the "cheeser" shouldn't be part of that list because there shouldn't be an "official" way to play the game. If you stop developping your eco while going all in agression, you are taking a major risk + this kind of strat takes a while to be mastered. It's not really op (otherwise it would be the meta) and I have more respect for these kinds of players since they are at least trying for something different than the "standards" BO that 90% of us are using. And I'm not even one of them :p
Agreed! I mean its actually good to get the meta 'stress tested' by those cheesy and meme strats, and it brings some spicy touches on content producing for guys lile pooplord and even Hera himself with off meta mondays and etc
NO YOU NEED TO GO INTO ARCHER OR SCOUT EVERY GAME!!!! DON'T YOU KNOW THATS THE FUN!!!!!! Jokes aside, %100 agreed. Its like in a chess game when opponent moves, you complain about the move not being conventional and start to complain about it to the ref and also saying I just lost because I was not expecting that move. Thats the game brother... Its ridicilous.
@@HCXWinchester we as community even know that can be hard for players to always encountering cheesy opponents on the ladder specially for the newer ones, but man, this is actually the portrait of every 'old game'. @@drleopoldopires I mean there million ways to interact with aoe2, ranked ladder is only one of them. You either accept people to do whatever benefits them to win (within game limits ofc) or not play ranked. Its simple as that. I am 30, got barely any time from work. I loved and played this game for years as a kid against AI. Now I have 100 hours on steam for the last year, played campaigns/AI and having so much fun. You choose how you interact with the game, not the other way around.
Honestly ,I thought Hera was memeing in that rant about how "they want to stop you playing the game". Lmao that was too absurd to take seriously. For the record I'm also not someone that likes to play rush/all-ins.
that's me. Always drop elo then ban arabia and the other standard maps, usually play only the cheese maps like Socotra if they're available and then go for insta lame or do things like Persians insta barracks drush. Either that or spend the entire game defending and building eco.
I used to do this on nomad back in HD, not to be a troll but I asked them not to build right next to me because in my experience they take all the resources and never have an army. They build by someone cos they know they will need a babysitter. My friend got a kick out of it one time as I onagered the "ally" tc and village and then flattened the enemy next to him too. We won that one lol
Add to the list: -the guy that comes under your TC to kill the sheeps in unranked games (to do that forgot to make vills for 1 min) -the guy in team games that makes fun of the other side who is losing, points out where they are making mistakes and laughs, doesn't send help and has half of the score of the side he's making fun of -the guy who calls gg when he's winning because he's having a decent push but has no idea of the state of your eco and army behind that one building he destroyed, he will gradually lose patience and start calling gg more and more often without noticing your army in his eco -Hera can't say anything about this one because he makes build orders so we have to say it, the guy who learns a build order and feels like a god but has absolutely no idea how to play after the build instructions are over and just quits if something doesn't go perfectly as he would like -The franks arabia player, he will only play franks, he will only play arabia, he will only play scouts into kinghts, his build is perfect, tried it for months 5 hours a day vs the AI, then he will die to halbs because he refuses to make anything but knights and he will blame the game for that -the goth spammer in team games, he will play only pocket and he will boom, if he's not imp with all the tech, 20 barracks and super eco he will not make army even if the flank is under siege by 2 players from the start, then he will resign with 0 was score because "the flank is noob" -The mongol micro obsessed (in general any cav archer civ but they really love the mangudai), he will only micro that army, nothing will ever touch that army, he will feel like a god for killing anything that comes close, if you split your army using trash units to keep the cav archers busy while the gold army destroys his city their brain will do the windows shutdown sound -and then the intentional lagger, a rare type you can find in lobby, mostly chinese players, they will play pocket on closed maps like michi, black forest, amazon tunnel, and they will boom into unique units, most common are balistas but also wagos, the game will be fluid until you show up with the counter unit, onagers for example, at that point the game will start to lag, I'm talking about heavy lag like 3 fps, I realized that they do it to have more time to react and move their units, this is the worst because you already played for like 30 min and in a 4 vs 4 you don't want to be the one who quits because can't stand lag and ruin the game for everyone so players stay hoping that the lag was just a moment
I think you missed one. The one that blames the teammates. I can’t count the “you only won because my teammate are a bunch of [insert whatever]”. Even in unranked games.
There is some truth to it tho, if your teammates is playing terrible its not your fault you lost the game. Not saying you should flame them, but maybe giving them an heads up on what not to do next time.
For me, the worst has to be the smurf.. I understand that really high level pros sometimes can’t find a game, but apart from that 0.01% exception, there’s no reason to have a smurf account.
you missed the one I hate the most: the "no gg guy". sometimes I'm losing, I say gg and the other guy says "ez, noob", so I automatically become the "wall vil in the corner" guy as a response 11
You are missing some infuriating things in Low Elo (I play around 1100): - The Narcissist: Requests a totally unviable strat at the beginning of the game "no buts" and quits when noone joins in. - The well-meaning waller: When you take a defensive fight against some ranged civ and your teammate panic-walls just in front of your army, leading to its annihilation. Your army may survive --> they breach --> team mate walls further back and repeats the ordeal. - The well-meaning offensive pocket: He does help you by building tons of army. But he doesn't spend a thought on building placement and blocks your resources by stupid production building placement - The passive pocket: When the flanks do flank stuff to each other but your own pocket only reaches castle when you are already getting trebbed. Berries, boars and deers all still there. - The massing pocket: Builds 60 knights with 2 TC in castle, idles them forever, then runs them into helbards. - The uneducated one: Has favorite units Uses them against whatever cimes his way. Countering skirms with archers or conqs with individual knights? He will go for it. - The "let me play my game"-player: Has a dozend vills idle on the map in early castle. When you ping them, he gets aggressive and spam-pings for the rest of the game. - The "don't worry"-guy. Plays Dark Forest as if it was Arabia. When you ask him to wall, he responds with "don't worry". Will resign when he gets inevitably sneaked.
If you beat me with any off meta play, i will respect it. It is on me to counter what ever tactics you the enemy bring against me. As long as its not cheating, i dont care.
@@Suzume175 From the pros' point of view, it's more of a sportsmanship thing. Laming sheep and boar is a low ball tactic and no one really respects it. However, I do agree with you, obviously (as evidenced by my previous comments). It IS in the game so it IS viable and no one should be shamed for it. It's like demoes in Rocket League. They're pretty divisive in the RL community. Even I used to look down upon those who used it, but I started overcoming that obstacle. Avoiding demoes more often and utilizing them to my team's benefit myself. Now it's just an annoyance and I quickly move on to win the game or don't.
Great list. Couldn't agree more on team game ladder being unplayable. If it isn't the guy who doesn't talk, it is the guy who quits early. If it isn't the guy who quits early, it is the guy who rages at you for going FC in pocket. Feel like it is even worse around 1000 ELO because you get players who are nowhere close to their true ELO, and the results of that seem to trigger these toxic behaviors in some people.
I think there are 2 others missing: 1. The one that without any valid reason takes your resources so theirs last longer or because a single scout got to their unused stone and scared them, to annoy or idk, steals your sheep on nomad games when you're clearly sending them to your tc, etc. 2. The one that as an ally cheeses you, walls your resources, palisades your tc and target fires your buildings or army with mangonels/siege, it's not very common but when it appears it's very annoying, totally ruins game
@@jesusflores4002 ive had teammates who made it clear on black forest it wasnt a 2v2 but a 1v1v2 11 were some of the funniest games when we both tried to rush imp for bbc / onager and walled us in in castle age. but i bet its hell when u dont play along and wanna play a normal game ngl
Pooplord is the worst of all AOE 2 players, he combines rank 4 and 2 only he brings rank 2 to another level, he plays hybrid cards, loses land and goes full water BBC 12 hours + games. 99% of the time ending with the Enemys quit because it takes to long.
Lots of teamgame honorable mentions missed! -Killing your ally with onagers -not deleting walls when your teammates requests -constantly chating and getting salty when teammates instead of playing chatbot play the actual game -clogging trade with useless buildings -Walling in your teammates
In one of Spirit of the Law's videos where he talked about Spanish Cannon Galleons, there was this dude who commented about a game where the other player got 20 Elite CG in a small ass pond in Arabia, and the game stalled for 2 damn hours because he just wasn't going to quit. As you say, once you reach that point...is far from fun. It's just aaaargh.
I've had an enemy like that one time. It was a different map, don't know which one. But basically there was a small corner with a very narrow gate through it. It took like one hour to defeat him.
Because of the wall-ins, I do think that the Ranked Ladder should have standard win condition (instead of conquest). If your opponent wants to camp it out, just build a wonder.
For me its the one disconnecting when the game is clearly lost. So it doesnt count as a lost game and elo of both players remains the same. Dunno why they dont do sth about it
I just started to learn this game recently, but even I can appreciate the balancing of AoE2. With that many Civs it is only natural that some are slightly better than others, but I feel like there is a place for every Civ, depending on players skill level, map characteristics etc. Keep on making great videos, I learned a lot from you already 😊
There's one I call the Yammerer: that guy that's so good at typing that he engages you in irrelevant dialogue to distract you. I had this one guy ask me what my favorite movie was... the entire game. He wouldn't take the hint that I was ignoring him.
No elo ditchers? At my elo it happens so often where players just quit after like 2mins, only so that every other game they can stomp someone with less skill. Surely that is worse than a cheeser
I once played a Hideout TG where not only did my pocket provide no help or communication all game, but he actually wolf rushed me. Got a bunch of wolves chasing a villager, walked them through my palisade gate and deleted the vil.
The Cheeser - rushing as fast as possible is just a tactic, one that can be countered. I don't mind that, even though Id prefer there be more reason overall to go to Imperial Age sometimes...
Cheesing is actually the n1 thing why i was playing lots of games, tbh. Boring to be "just lke everyone else" as long as game prodives possibilities to play differently and win the different ways. Some time ago it went so far that when me player "normally" was totally unexpected and make an opponents lsoing their minds :D Note: i'm completely against abusing bugs. No. Just cheesing. Playing is for fun, after all!
you forgot to mention the guys ON YOUR team that steal your sheep, boar, etc and build a lot in your space while having space on his area or build walls between the trade route - happens a lot on amazon tunnel.. and they get mad when you onager down his buildings and walls
I tend to rage quit a bit before, and the best way to overcome it, is to come with a mindset to chill in ladder with people you don't know. If you expect too much, that were ppl like i used to, will take it in the wrong way
Cheeser is not a worst type. If its in the game, its legit. If there is anything wrong with the game, blame goes to balance team, not the cheeser. ITS A GAME WITH A RANKING! Why people need to play in some gentlemans way? Its so stupid way to look at things. Aoe2 is a game of response. Opponent does something and if you give a proper response, you are at advantage. If you do not, then you are at disadvantage. How can anyone blame others for BUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS UNCONVENTIONAL AND I WAS NOT READY! argument? Its literally how the game works.
This. In C&C classic and Red Alert classic when I played on a LAN with my brother, we'd lose sync between computers and they'd turn into an AI. They would even taunt you when it happened. Game: "We lost power of sync!" AI: "Now it's just you and me!" Why don't modern games do that?
Putting a tower rush in the same list as walling your villigers into the corner is just bonkers. One is someone playing for the win with a legitimate strategy that has always been a part of the game. The other is someone who is not playing to win not using any strategy and has the only goal of ruining your day for no reason. They are not comparable at all.
usually you can stop a tower rush with villagers , most people don't seem to know how to do it right anymore. So they build a tower , its taken down with villagers , they build another one, its taken down with villagers , they build a 3rd one ..... same outcome. Somewhere between 3 and 5 towers they quit. I used to call it the baddie blitz
It’s interesting that putting #4 forward makes you a #5. Using all-in strategies are part of the game to win. You play the game devs have made, strengths and weaknesses included.
@@kudoushinichi1412 I don't really see why it's a cheese strat. You are sacrificing more economy to make the trush more effective. In my book, cheese is when you use exploits or bugs that the developers doesn't have the time to patch.
I vehemently disagree with the "Cheeser" being even mentioned at all. First of all, who decides what is and what isn't cheese strategy? Second - are we really despising people simply because they play non-meta strategy? Also, cheese tends to be high risk, high reward strategy, just defeat the cheeser and that's it. And last but not least - I thought that this is a competitive game, wargame even. If it's forbidden trying to win, than maybe EDH could be a better hobby. I'm not talking about cheating and/or bug exploits, I'm talking about trying to win in a context of a competitive game, perfectly in line with its rules: this shouldn't be frowned upon.
I once had a team mate attack me non-stop with bombard cannons, making it impossible for us to win. On arena, because I wasn't in a position to help him defend an early castle drop.
The worst are those who deliberately lower their ELO by repeatedly quitting games so they can play against opponents who have 300 ELO less than them, crush them, and then say 'ez' or '11' at the end
I genuinely like your videos, your thoughts are really interesting and the gameplay you show is great. Plus you seem a nice guy. I would love to see you go through all the campaigns. Subscribed! 😄
Hey Hera. I am one of your big fans, and I've learnt a lot from your videos. But I didn't like one specific thing about this video. I agree with all your points here, but not sure why the "cheeser" makes this list? Is it bad if you wanna try out new all in strats and go hyper offensive from the start? Our aim is to win the game. Why should everyone play standard? Heck, I even learnt the Turks fast imp into bbc and hc from your video, and that has been my go to strat on arena. I have over 68% win rate due to that build order. But then again, I've lost a lot too using that strat, cuz people were able to counter it and I too found out flaws in it. In my opinion, If someone can develop all in strats, you should make counter strats. I know, people now a days memorize build orders and what not, and that does end up making game a little less fun for the opponent, but then again, what's wrong with memorizing a build order, if it's not standard? Don't we all send 6 to food, 3 to wood in dark age? That's a build order too. Imagine playing with someone who's 300-400 ELO, and not familiar with even the standard dark age build order. For them, you going to feudal age in 10 mins is broken too. So I guess, it's better to work on developing counter strats instead of blaming or calling out people who don't like playing the game the "standard" way.
I am not a vils in wall guy. But oneday, I was playing a teamgame. A guy in my team paused the game and write "sorry one sec." the other team just started the game. Our guy came back and rage quitted. Then I just walled, everything on Black Forest and the opponent team, 4 guys had to play until my last vil :) I also write LAMER with palisade walls. These guys asked if my time worth it ? I said if you wait one minute, everything can be fun.
"I love the reddit community". Lies and damned lies. I also see no issue with what you describe as "the cheeser", as long as there's no cheating involved and the player is respectful. Goal is to win. If someone just goes all-in with risky strategies that are very annoying, I see no problem.
Those random trolls in team games that would just either quit at the very start or, come and wall up your TC, or come later and destroy your base with Onagers. Those are definitely the worst, at least in team games.
I've got a brief story about the "me no type" honorable mention. Random ally and I in a ranked 2v2 both went random civs on Arabia, he got Cumans and I got some archer civ (been awhile, may have been Saracens). So I type and suggest I'll go archers and he goes scouts in feudal. No response. I go fast up into 2 range archers, he goes fast up as well so I'm thinking "okay, he'll do scouts then or maybe his own archers, either way is fine". Few minutes later I'm getting double-teamed by our opponents and signaling my ally to send military, but nothing is coming, and he's still quiet. I manage to barely full wall in time and stay relatively safe but they move on to my ally's base, which I haven't looked at in a bit, so I decide to take a peek. What's he doing? Fully open 2 TC booming in feudal, zero military units, zero walling. Our opponents show up to his base with archers and scouts and start running over him, and he spam signals me and types something to the effect of "what the f***? help, do something". I've already got my archers on the way over but all he's producing for military are spears which are getting picked off by their archers, so my army gets cleaned up eventually and then he resigns and types, to everyone, "useless teammate". I've encountered most of the player types in this list at least a few times, but that one was by far the most frustrating for me.
As far as the "Wall In Last Vill" goes, I do this when I call the gg and my opponent says something like "11 ez". Then they have to defeat me, cause screw those guys.
Homorable memtion is also the Hera spreadsheet gamer. First time i got hit by 19 pop double archery range in a Team game i got wrecked. Now i am also guilty as charged!
Might sound weird but im to scared to play PvP Aoe2: Mainly im Doing the Story (since childhood) and sometimes Random bot games on standard difficutly and Im having fun with it. Im scared that when I would go Online that im done in like 15 20 Minutes. In Campaign and Bot games I always take my time and that playstyle will for sure not work online.
Thanks for the inspiring strategies. Up to now I was only familiar with the Wall in strat but if I could manage to combine them this will be a whole other level. Do you have an idea how I could transfer the rage quit strategy to a 1vs1?) Maybe by #5 flaming the opponent, #3 balance Andy him into a post-imp fight with well set armys and #1 finish everything with a rage quit right before the battle? What do you think?
2nd one is I believe a part of the strategy. That cheeser loses a lot of resources early on as well - and in case, you beat them, then it is an easy-win for you. So I believe it is actually not toxic, just part of strategy.
"It's ok to make mistakes, it's not ok to just live with them the rest of our lives." Hera RUclips, come for pixilated medieval madness and stay for surprising poignant life philosophy.
Anyone up for making a community or RUclips called Sociopaths of Aoe2? Reporting clearly doesn’t do anything but we need to publicly expose this behavior and disincentivize it somehow
Little-known fact: the reason why vills of a faction on the verge of defeat will stone wall themselves into a corner is because they're making a secret last-ditch effort to reach an alternate dimension off the edge of the map. There's a Terran Factory floating in a corner over there in which they think they'll be safe. Alas, if their simple medieval minds could only comprehend the infinitely more gruesome deaths that await them -- every molecule in their bodies incinerated at the end of an energy weapon, or ripped to shreds & devoured alive by horrifying alien monsters -- then they would gladly surrender to cannon and sword and crossbow.
The vill walling I feel like I have done this before without really realizing how much time I am actually wasting because I have so much of my own. Sometimes it's just better to except the death and move on to another game,' something I'll have to accept more often than not.
The Cheeser. So people like Huong and PoopLord? I think that the unconventional strategies can be fun to face. And sometimes they are a practical strategy. Of course, it's arguable that the "cheese strategies" are actually intended for certain civs (Vietnamese with laming strategies, Aztecs with full monk push, Celts with the best castle age siege pushing with siege in castle age, etc.)
Hera this is to you, perosnally: . You said several times in the video that you can report the person but they will just make a second account and go on as before. Well, the thing is (and I am not exactly proud of it) that I can get quite verbally sometimes when losing a game. Especially, towards my own teammates if they let me play 1vs2 for the most part of the game or they steal some ressources. I have said some really nasty things in the past that I better have not repeat here in the comment sections. ;-) I must have gotten reported several dozen times and I also got chat suspended at least 3 times. (It was probably like 4-5) (In that case you can by the way not even taunt anymore which ist really stupid because that can potentially hurt the team more than the guy who got chat suspended, but whatever) But I am still playing the game and after a couple of hours or a few days, I can even write again. So to make Microsoft fully block your account that you are made to make up a new one you must probably do some very serious shit or even criminal stuff like trying to sell drugs or child porn or shit like that. I just felt like telling you that it is pretty hard to get fully banned. (Which is a good thing in my opinion.) . On second thought maybe it is also just because I have my own clan (Cresf / CreativeStrategyForce) with roughly 90 members and they don't want to block a Clan founder/leader from the game. And that makes them turn a blind eye in my case. I don't know to be honest. . But in short: You really have to fuck uo very hard to get fully suspended fromm the game.
Oh man the Rage Quitter is indeed an unpleasant encounter. Especially in the LEL ranks it just appears unnecessary stupid. Yeah Mister 700 Elo blame us for your loss. Dude if you are so much better, you would not be playing with us.
I sometimes can be a "Balance Andy" as well. But only if the Matchup is pretty much broken on paper, already. Or they do a Cuman/Persian boom on Arena. Turk rush is also very very annoying. Sometimes, I even rage quit. But usually not in 4vs4 unless I really screwed very bad or I got disconnected from the internet for several minutes. Also if I do, I tell the team before that that I screwed. Not sure this can be even still considered as "rage quitting" or I just leave because the game is kind of screwed, anyways.
I think a guy who perform an all-in play may not be a 'cheeser' because a 'cheeser' is, to be exact, one who wants to ruin the opponent's gameplay experience. FC Hoang rush or a 10-vil Teuton tower rush or something like this should be considered as another strategy.🤔 And trapping the opponent's units should be considered as a gameplay trick. It may be annoying but I think it may add more fun and possibility to the game. I will surely consider it 'impressive' when a player traps the opponent's units with his/her great quickwall skills.🥰 Lastly, in my opinion a lamer is definitely a 'cheeser', since laming makes the match unfair and adds no excitement or fun.
I am usually an early resigner but I have walled in vils once or twice when my opponent mocks me and/or 105's me. The rage quitter problem is really bad below about 1400 TG ELO. It's a terrible place to be that is very hard to get out of solo Queuing.
If the opponent mocks you, all respect goes out the window. Walling in vils is basically a requirement at that point. I personally normally play on untill both my economy is destroyed and I'm out of resources (who knows, maybe the enemy is also running low, and the tides may turn), but if they start using taunts like that, I'll decide to hold on on principle even after I'm definitely dead. I'll even make sure to resign right before my last unit is killed, in order to really get them
In EW you often get the guy who spams flare because the first thing he built was a market. Then he's mad because his flank doesn't have an army , just like him. I always tell them "it's too bad there's not a technology like 'barricades' that can keep them out of your town. "
Absolutely disagree with #4 - laming and rush are part of the game and who determines what's the "proper" way to win? I hate that play style, but it's not wrong.
Sheesh Hera flaming the AI in a campaign a few weeks ago and then putting flamers on this list! Unbelievable! 1111 On the real though - super entertaining video.
The #2 Waller was a guy who posted about me on Reddit mad that I instaquit when I match with him after he walled his vills in, complained my internet was laggy and only ran Teutons on arena lol
Cheeser just made me think about MBL used to made Hera kind of tilted one time with his aggressive strat, and in DE, MBL got tilted by Hoang, which was a bit funny with own medicine eating. Still cheeser usually got this kind of eat own medicine due to preventing them cheesing you is to cheese them 11.
I have been suspect of being the guy who stalls out the game after my team leaves xD. Running around the map with 10 mangudai and having a horde chase me is fun once in a while.
I disagree with the cheeser, I will forever support my guys Red Phosphoru/Hoang. But completely agree on the rest. One thing missing from this list: The Bug Exploiter. Happens from time from time but yeah, for example people exploting the infinite relic... just the worst
There was a video explaining why Aoe 2 pathfinding works the way it does, explaining the pathing is strange sometimes because it's 2d made to look like 3d. I was thinking if was a "Spirit of the Law" video but I can't find it again and it's driving me nuts.
If someone is toxic, I think walling in is perfectly fine. I don't see anything wrong with quitting if the other players force me to play random civ, when I don't want to.

I'm not a balance Andy, I'm not a pathing Andy. I'm not FreakinAndy... (unfortunately) I'm just a low elo Andy.

I've been 'cheesed' many times and find my way to have fun while fighting the cheese, even if i lose, that means I just need to learn how to counter that
@@drleopoldopires I mean there million ways to interact with aoe2, ranked ladder is only one of them.
The smurf might be worst than all of them…
The Legend of MirthaLegrand
that's me. Always drop elo then ban arabia and the other standard maps, usually play only the cheese maps like Socotra if they're available and then go for insta lame or do things like Persians insta barracks drush. Either that or spend the entire game defending and building eco.
The worst are those team members who get mad and start attacking you with onagers while you are trying to win the game.
Just the troll in general, but I guess they are not really present at high elo games
they are rough, but i once had a game where this happend to me, and in response my onagers won, so it was pretty satisfying to defeat the impostor
Add to the list:
-the guy that comes under your TC to kill the sheeps in unranked games (to do that forgot to make vills for 1 min)
-the guy in team games that makes fun of the other side who is losing, points out where they are making mistakes and laughs, doesn't send help and has half of the score of the side he's making fun of
-the guy who calls gg when he's winning because he's having a decent push but has no idea of the state of your eco and army behind that one building he destroyed, he will gradually lose patience and start calling gg more and more often without noticing your army in his eco
-Hera can't say anything about this one because he makes build orders so we have to say it, the guy who learns a build order and feels like a god but has absolutely no idea how to play after the build instructions are over and just quits if something doesn't go perfectly as he would like
-The franks arabia player, he will only play franks, he will only play arabia, he will only play scouts into kinghts, his build is perfect, tried it for months 5 hours a day vs the AI, then he will die to halbs because he refuses to make anything but knights and he will blame the game for that
-the goth spammer in team games, he will play only pocket and he will boom, if he's not imp with all the tech, 20 barracks and super eco he will not make army even if the flank is under siege by 2 players from the start, then he will resign with 0 was score because "the flank is noob"
-The mongol micro obsessed (in general any cav archer civ but they really love the mangudai), he will only micro that army, nothing will ever touch that army, he will feel like a god for killing anything that comes close, if you split your army using trash units to keep the cav archers busy while the gold army destroys his city their brain will do the windows shutdown sound
-and then the intentional lagger, a rare type you can find in lobby, mostly chinese players, they will play pocket on closed maps like michi, black forest, amazon tunnel, and they will boom into unique units, most common are balistas but also wagos, the game will be fluid until you show up with the counter unit, onagers for example, at that point the game will start to lag, I'm talking about heavy lag like 3 fps, I realized that they do it to have more time to react and move their units, this is the worst because you already played for like 30 min and in a 4 vs 4 you don't want to be the one who quits because can't stand lag and ruin the game for everyone so players stay hoping that the lag was just a moment
I'm the Goth spammer. Except that I do make army before imp and I don't throw fits. 😂
Something tells me you've gotten wrecked by knights a few too many times 11
The mongol tryhard is so annoying because his micro is shit 1111 watching that guy moving his mangudais so randomly is so fun

I think you missed one. The one that blames the teammates. I can’t count the “you only won because my teammate are a bunch of [insert whatever]”. Even in unranked games.
It is often a rage quitter.
There is some truth to it tho, if your teammates is playing terrible its not your fault you lost the game. Not saying you should flame them, but maybe giving them an heads up on what not to do next time.

The people that go Spanish cannon galleons on oasis…
“Does sitting on a horse give you more strength“ got me :))
Or worse the guy who responds with "bwahaha u suck lamer"
Yeah when you get a tryhard talking shit when they are winning I tend to begin playing like an asshole as well, just to burn their time
But sometimes, players gg too early. I won several games where people wanted gg. Those are the best games, when you can turn it.
You are missing some infuriating things in Low Elo (I play around 1100):
- The Narcissist: Requests a totally unviable strat at the beginning of the game "no buts" and quits when noone joins in.
But he doesn't spend a thought on building placement and blocks your resources by stupid production building placement
- The passive pocket: When the flanks do flank stuff to each other but your own pocket only reaches castle when you are already getting trebbed.
I respect people who go for crazy all-ins way more than the other cheesers
high risk high reward. Hard to argue against it.
Would love to see list of the top 5 best players. The ones that come to mind - Sheep returner, types 11 at himself, community contributor, and Daut
1:30 "bro I'm the standard ai"
I think there are 2 others missing:
I've flared people who do that and warned them that I would quit if they keep doing it. They usually delete the mine. If not I do the same to them.

Pretty rare one I've seen is guys that palisade wall your TC to troll you at the very start of the game.
-Killing your ally with onagers
-not deleting walls when your teammates requests
-constantly chating and getting salty when teammates instead of playing chatbot play the actual game
-clogging trade with useless buildings
-Walling in your teammates
I don't think that actual ruining was meant to be in this list as it's undoubtfully the worst of all and deserves banning.
Was hoping for 'The Pocket Boomer' in team games: doesn't make army until they're at 4 TC and clicked to imp as you get crushed by a 2v1.
Also: the worst type is the smurf!
I think nr 7 is the afk/leaving game after 8 minutes guy in team games
5 minutes you mean 11
There's one I call the Yammerer: that guy that's so good at typing that he engages you in irrelevant dialogue to distract you. I had this one guy ask me what my favorite movie was... the entire game. He wouldn't take the hint that I was ignoring him.
No elo ditchers? At my elo it happens so often where players just quit after like 2mins, only so that every other game they can stomp someone with less skill. Surely that is worse than a cheeser
This one should definitely go into the list as well.
I once played a Hideout TG where not only did my pocket provide no help or communication all game, but he actually wolf rushed me. Got a bunch of wolves chasing a villager, walked them through my palisade gate and deleted the vil.
Top 5 worst players ? AY THATS ME FRFR
Edit: Ok I meant Im bad at the game, not what was said in the video ...

Some time ago it went so far that when me player "normally" was totally unexpected and make an opponents lsoing their minds :D
Note: i'm completely against abusing bugs.
I had one guy tell me he was going to find me, bring me into the woods, and sacrifice me to satin. lmao he lost pretty bad.
Now he is on the hunt for u. Prepare to be a sacrifice. Kappa?
I'd tell him you're a man of the cloth and are not at all afraid of satin.
You should threaten him with the wrath of polyester
I wish Rage Quitters would just turn into AI, from easy to extreme depending on ELO
This.
In C&C classic and Red Alert classic when I played on a LAN with my brother, we'd lose sync between computers and they'd turn into an AI. They would even taunt you when it happened. Game: "We lost power of sync!" AI: "Now it's just you and me!"
Why don't modern games do that?
Honestly I don’t play multiplayer but I’m shocked this isn’t a thing already. Even a very easy AI would be better than nothing.
He said 10 villagers tower rush, not just tower rush. 10 villagers tower rush is a cheese strat.
@@kudoushinichi1412 I don't really see why it's a cheese strat. You are sacrificing more economy to make the trush more effective. In my book, cheese is when you use exploits or bugs that the developers doesn't have the time to patch.
@@Paal2005 no, cheese strat is a bad strat that depends on surprise factory. 10 vills trush is not sustainable in the long run.
I'm not talking about cheating and/or bug exploits, I'm talking about trying to win in a context of a competitive game, perfectly in line with its rules: this shouldn't be frowned upon.
he is projecting his ideas on the controversial phosphoru and youpudding rushes even though he did not express the same views on other videos.
Subscribed! 😄

around my elo, I've experienced them all, but what I hate the most if the rage quitter.
Faced #2 last night in a 1v1. I had to research spies to find the last villagers. The whole thing lasted about an hour.
Whenevr you get attacked by a cheeser, remember he didn´t attack you with your pleasure in mind.
I do love the reddit community for aoe2 at least, i frequent it here and there
Those random trolls in team games that would just either quit at the very start or, come and wall up your TC, or come later and destroy your base with Onagers.
Those are definitely the worst, at least in team games.
thank you for making this, was cathartic, I can handle the others, but yea number 1 drives me nuts in TGs
I've encountered most of the player types in this list at least a few times, but that one was by far the most frustrating for me.
first thing i though of was the "gg noob team" guy, everytime you play team games with random guys
Cool, I'm going to use some of these tips in my next games..
;-)
"It's ok to make mistakes, it's not ok to just live with them the rest of our lives."
Hera RUclips, come for pixilated medieval madness and stay for surprising poignant life philosophy.
Anyone up for making a community or RUclips called Sociopaths of Aoe2? Reporting clearly doesn’t do anything but we need to publicly expose this behavior and disincentivize it somehow
forgot to mention the entire rage forest community
You totally forgot the griefer, enters as an ally only to wall you and attack you with mangonels helping his friends on the other team
that happens? probably only in lobbies.
Regarding the “vills wall in” guy, I always buy a castle and build it next to them.
Actually Hera's content is really enjoyable, but I will get to that in another post.
What about the smurfs?
"bro I'm the Standard AI" lmao🤣🤣
That phosphorus siege micro must be horrible to play against but it's beautiful to watch.
#6 The Meta player (with the spreadsheets) xD
Never thought I'd be mentioned 5 times in a Hera Video! :)
Hera this is to you, perosnally:
.
You said several times in the video that you can report
the person but they will just make a second account and go
on as before.
Well, the thing is (and I am not exactly proud of it) that I can
get quite verbally sometimes when losing a game.
Especially, towards my own teammates if they let me play
1vs2 for the most part of the game or they steal some ressources.
I have said some really nasty things in the past that I better
have not repeat here in the comment sections. ;-)
I must have gotten reported several dozen times and
I also got chat suspended at least 3 times.
(It was probably like 4-5)
(In that case you can by the way not even taunt anymore which
ist really stupid because that can potentially hurt the team more
than the guy who got chat suspended, but whatever)
But I am still playing the game and after a couple of hours or
a few days, I can even write again.
So to make Microsoft fully block your account that you are
made to make up a new one you must probably do some
very serious shit or even criminal stuff like trying to sell drugs
or child porn or shit like that.
I just felt like telling you that it is pretty hard to get fully banned.
(Which is a good thing in my opinion.)
.
On second thought maybe it is also just because I have my own
clan (Cresf / CreativeStrategyForce) with roughly 90 members
and they don't want to block a Clan founder/leader from the game.
And that makes them turn a blind eye in my case.
I don't know to be honest.
.
But in short:
You really have to fuck uo very hard to get fully suspended fromm the game.
Very fair of Hera to call himself out as his first point in the video
Oh man the Rage Quitter is indeed an unpleasant encounter. Especially in the LEL ranks it just appears unnecessary stupid. Yeah Mister 700 Elo blame us for your loss. Dude if you are so much better, you would not be playing with us.
I sometimes can be a "Balance Andy" as well.
But only if the Matchup is pretty much broken on paper, already.
Or they do a Cuman/Persian boom on Arena.
Turk rush is also very very annoying.
Sometimes, I even rage quit.
But usually not in 4vs4 unless I really screwed very bad or I got
disconnected from the internet for several minutes.
Also if I do, I tell the team before that that I screwed.
Not sure this can be even still considered as "rage quitting"
or I just leave because the game is kind of screwed, anyways.
I think a guy who perform an all-in play may not be a 'cheeser' because a 'cheeser' is, to be exact, one who wants to ruin the opponent's gameplay experience. FC Hoang rush or a 10-vil Teuton tower rush or something like this should be considered as another strategy.🤔
And trapping the opponent's units should be considered as a gameplay trick. It may be annoying but I think it may add more fun and possibility to the game. I will surely consider it 'impressive' when a player traps the opponent's units with his/her great quickwall skills.🥰
Lastly, in my opinion a lamer is definitely a 'cheeser', since laming makes the match unfair and adds no excitement or fun.
I am usually an early resigner but I have walled in vils once or twice when my opponent mocks me and/or 105's me.
The rage quitter problem is really bad below about 1400 TG ELO. It's a terrible place to be that is very hard to get out of solo Queuing.
I type 105 if my opponent drags the game out on purpose, and I have limit time before I have to do something irl
#5: Nerf Britons please
#4: I wanted to play Magyars I don't know how to Malay
#3: Just ban
#2: Allow wonder victory please
#1: Same as 3
Nerf mangudai plzzzzzzzz
You forgot teammates who walls you so you cant play
You forgot teammates who kills your vills with onegar
Absolutely disagree with #4 - laming and rush are part of the game and who determines what's the "proper" way to win?
I hate that play style, but it's not wrong.
Sheesh Hera flaming the AI in a campaign a few weeks ago and then putting flamers on this list! Unbelievable! 1111
On the real though - super entertaining video.
if only the balance andy knew that pikemen exist
The #2 Waller was a guy who posted about me on Reddit mad that I instaquit when I match with him after he walled his vills in, complained my internet was laggy and only ran Teutons on arena lol
Cheeser just made me think about MBL used to made Hera kind of tilted one time with his aggressive strat, and in DE,
MBL got tilted by Hoang, which was a bit funny with own medicine eating.
So what I'm getting from this is that I should play sitting on a horse.
Honorable mention: The guy on your team that rages and destroys your base with mangonel and onagers.
There was a video explaining why Aoe 2 pathfinding works the way it does, explaining the pathing is strange sometimes because it's 2d made to look like 3d. I was thinking if was a "Spirit of the Law" video but I can't find it again and it's driving me nuts.
as a minecraft player, I can say that AoE2 is definitely a much cleaner environment
If someone is toxic, I think walling in is perfectly fine.
I don't see anything wrong with quitting if the other players force me to play random civ, when I don't want to.
