This yin yoga practice focuses on migraine and pain relief, and is also suitable for tension headaches. In the Ayurvedic tradition, migraines are considered the result of excess pitta (heat and inflammation) in the nervous system. This gentle yin yoga practice takes a restorative approach to lengthen the ligaments of the upper back and neck, to soothe and cool the nervous system, and hold space for silence and stillness in the mind. In this way, we can address our physical symptoms from all levels of the being. Please find support for this practice with yoga bolsters, folded blankets or a stack of pillows.

You're welcome Julie!
Thank you Kristen for this very helpful practice. It really helped soften my migraine🙏❤️
This practice really helped me with my headache, instead of popping a aspirin, headache gone. Thank you so much for recommending this practice!
Hi Kendra, Wow! That’s amazing. I’m so glad the practice helped 🙌🏻
This definitely felt more restorative than yin to me, but that's what I needed today - I wound up staying in supportive bridge (seemed more right than waterfall this time) for the entire last part o the practice.
I’m happy to hear this practice was supportive for you 💕
it works 👍...thanks..namaste 🙏
You’re welcome! ☺️
Finally a yoga for migraine practice that moves as slow as I need to. I have covid right now and the headaches are brutal. This practice was so soothing, so nurturing, made me feel a bit more like myself. Thank you.

I agree! That's why I liked this practice too. I also did my own slow-moving practice for migraines: ruclips.net/video/bX27j5aLB0w/видео.html

Hi Mélissa, I’m so happy to hear it 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this practice, Kristen, I am glad that I have found your channel because I suffer from migraines quite often! Where could I find some information regarding excess pitta, please and do you have yoga classes specifically for balancing it? Thank you so much in advance! Xx
Hi, I would suggest that all yin yoga classes balance pitta, because yin yoga is a cooling and soothing practice : ) I would suggest reading about Ayurveda and the 3 doshas (pitta, kapha and vata) from Dr. Vasant Lad. He is an expert in this area.
@@YogawithKristen thank you very much, I will! Xx 🙏🏻💕
