    I don’t know why Whites doesn’t advertise it but they have a munson last. It’s called the 9338 or #38 swing last. It’s much more comfortable than the 55 or 4811.

      Anatomical lasts are only getting more popular based on what I can tell. Especially as the barefoot movement continues I think people will have less tolerance for messing up their feet for fashion

    nice to see your videos again! man those look good, i really cant believe how good he is in collaborations, red version of that boot is one of my favorite boots.
    im also taking fit more and more serious as im longer in to boots, in my case B width with big toe splay. im thinking to go for a pair of Thruman Nicks tankers

    • @calebgasca
      @calebgasca  3 месяца назад

      Yeah that Thurman last seems like it solves the problems that a lot of guys have with the pnw lasts. If they were anatomical it wouldn’t be necessary to get so wide of a size often times I think. That first pair is great too, honestly I wish I had bought them at the time. I’ve thought about trying my best to recreate them but using the Thurman last at nicks. I wish that had a similar color red leather.

    These were an impulse buy for me and they ended up being one of my fav pairs. I’m not a black boot guy but these are a great only pain of black boots. Btw these are pretty much 10” Whites Farmer/Ranchers with a less pronounced packer heel instead of a logger heel. I do wish they were 8” high though.

    • @calebgasca
      @calebgasca  2 месяца назад

      I enjoy the ten inch height, I think it makes them feel very substantial. If the size were to shrink I think I’d want a slightly smaller heel to compensate. I actually have the opposite impulse where I find it easier to wear black boots so these are perfect for me. Now I just need a pair of brown boots😂

    I have the MP’s and the 2.0 which sounds great but the 2.0’s have made me not like the MP’s because of the celastic toe so now I will only buy unstructured toes lol

    • @calebgasca
      @calebgasca  3 месяца назад +3

      Yes! I totally agree, even if I bought a pair of boots with a toe cap, I would still want them to be unstructured. With the exception of boots like the Viberg 310s and the kreosote boots which are all intended to have large chiseled structured toes, I think it’s almost always better to have unstructured because it’s more natural and ages much better.

    It seems we share similar feet shapes (paddle feet that is) I had similar issues with sizing. I had ordered a 9 EE based off of the chart and my measurements. It did fit as expected in the length and ball of the foot but the toe box was narrow and crushed my feet during break in (especially my small toe) after break in the toebox (which is luckily tall) shaped out and became wider, I still cant wear thick socks without it being tight but my big toe has plenty of room and no longer have pressure. I will likely have to order 9 F or 9.5 EE in the future if i want a better fit, the waist of the boot, were the arch is, is actually too narrow and my feet lay past the side of the insole, this along with arch break in caused some issues for me that are still present.
    I wear them to work (Its not a hard working job but i do move and load heavy items regularly) and have had some color change in the leather still subtle though.
    Hope you continue uploading regularly ill keep an eye out since your stuff seems good!

    • @calebgasca
      @calebgasca  3 месяца назад

      Yeah these seem to be a difficult fit if you are a wider foot

    • @fistofice
      @fistofice 3 месяца назад

      @@calebgasca it has widened with wear so it fits mostly now but when i need a resole i might pay the extra to get it rebuilt a size wider. they are definitely worth that investment to me.

      @@calebgasca I do like the idea of having a munson lasted boot but I do like the look of the 4911 on the Drifter. if you do get a munson based boot id like to see how it works out as far as fit.

      Allen Edmonds shoe trees fit unbelievably well when my other usual ones wouldn't go down the narrow toes at all. Happy accident there, mostly. I guess if you WANT the toe to collapse, this will be useless info.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 3 месяца назад

      Nick's is a little less expensive for packer boots and they have tan color that I might like to get someday, but the stock model the quick ship or something is maybe the safer bet when curious about sizing issues, etc. Not sure if their wait times are better overall, but maybe. I like brown more than black, tho, so...

      The square-toe cowboy boots might be more comfortable for all day work, but they are not stylish at all. I can't seem to find many that I like the look lately, and I don't like wearing them much in hot weather, either. These maybe people would also find a bit warm BUT at least they could be worn with shorts and not look as dorky as taller riding boots AND as much as I don't like walking in riding boots, walking in these is a smidge more natural or something. But they DO bite in that foreleg pinch area.

    • @calebgasca
      @calebgasca  23 дня назад +1

      Haha I wouldn’t say I can’t handle them😂. I do feel more comfortable with them though. I think for me it’s just easier to wear black bc with brown it’s much more important to match the tones of the leather. Which can be annoying, I often don’t feel like spending money on a new belt to match the boots I want. I think that’s one of the biggest appeals with black. Plus my mom used to make me buy black shoes because they didn’t look as dirty to maybe my mind had been secretly conditioned haha.

      Yes and?Symmetrical creasing can be done and is with considering when paying the better part of 1,000 dollars on a pair of boots. I didn’t say that ruined them. Just something worth noting. That’s the point of a review to point out your experience with a product to inform other potential buyers.
