I love how he said that then said, "especially when it comes to height." As if he was referring to something we were all thinking of already. But dang. 6'4"? I'd like to be 6'2" I'm just shy of 6' and it pisses me off that I'm not above that. If only I had more of the height genetics from my dad's side.
Got mine today! Super nice and perfect fit. Laced them up and immediately went for a 1.5m walk around my hilly neighborhood. A tad stiff and the arch is quite prominent but I made it with home with zero issues. I can already tell I’m gonna love these boots. They have exceeded my expectations. Thanks again, Wes, for making this most excellent collab happen!
Was gonna hold off on installing the kilties but changed my mind and decided to just go for it. Even with the kilties in, not unbearably stiff at all. Love the roomy toe box too. I’m a size 10 brannock and went with a 9D (same as my RedWings). Spot on snugness.
Ordered a pair. Love the full length 10” kiltie. Appreciate that you specified the top of the line craftsmanship. For the icing on the cake you got this done at last year’s price! Home run!
I sure wish I could afford a pair of packers. My great uncle runs a 1000 acre ranch in kansas, and he always said " real cowboy boots have kilties " and he's a diehard whites packer guy. He's in his late 70's now still going strong and lacing up a pair of Packers every day.
My D2.0s came in today. Fantastic boot! Thanks for putting this collaboration together. All the extras are amazing especially the 10” false tongue. About eight weeks from the time I ordered them, light speed. Thanks again!
I love whites, I have some smokejumpers and hawthorns, but you seriously designed what I would say is a perfect looking boot, nice work, love your channel. I always learn something 👍🏻
Oh man, black teacore leather!!! Not sure I could pull a 10inch off but I definitely one day will add a leather of this style. It’s an awesome patina. Man that’s a great price to consider what whites go for in general. That’s stand up for them.
Love them - Been wanting to get a pair of white smokejumper and packer - this one sits perfectly in the middle - Got my pair - Hopefully everything will go well :) - First PNW boots for me super excited !!!!!!!
Ordered mine. I love this leather you chose. Will be my first pair of Whites , I have owned redwings Thorogoods and wear a pair of Franks Patriot PNW boots for work every day as a pipe welder.
Was wanting to get some nicks but now I think I’m getting these! So excited I loves the first pair of drifters so much I’ll make sure to drop a review when I get a pair!
I got mine December 19th and have been wearing them ever since. Best boots I've ever had. And the more I wear them, the better they get. Obviously they are still breaking in. White's fitment and measuring guide on their website worked perfect for me.
I just want to add that not only are they very comfortable, an unexpected thing is that they are reshaping my feet. When I wore other boots/shoes and pretty much my whole life, my whole foot contacted the ground. Since ive been wearing these over the past couple of weeks, only my heel and ball of my feet contact the ground. They have also helped in taking away my lower back pain I've had for years. Its amazing what a good pair of boots will do. They are totally worth the price. My posture has definitely gotten better as well.
Damn, I was just drooling over the old Drifter boots online, and I JUST received my pair of black waxed flesh Nicks. I honestly probably would've ordered these instead. Oh well! I love the drifter series. I think White's 4811 last looks so good.
Yep, I agree, these are really cool boots. I have not seen an all black, boot like this. For me, the only thing I would prefer is the black roughout leather instead of smooth, but I understand why these are in the smooth. Rose Anvil wants to see all the distressing in the boots, hahaha. I get it.
Just ordered a pair! They’ll be my first heeled heritage style boot. Already have some 8” Perry Selects that I bought based on your reviews. Your channel has been very helpful. Thanks!
I'm not proud of the fact that I have 6 pair of Whites currently in my rotation. After watching this video, I now have to figure out how to convince my wife I'm going to purchase number 7?!
always liked these boots but also always thought they should be black, and this leather you choose that shows brown with wear its just perfect. I wish I could afford these but beeing from brazil there is no chance. Love your channels dude keep it up
I agree ☝️ you will. Grab a sunny D bottle or something and throw a couple of bucks in it every few days or every week. You’ll save it up faster than you think. A couple of years even….and then you’ll have those boots for decades if you take care of them. Well worth it.
I'm rooting for you too brother. Just take a dedicated amount of money out of every check and put it in an envelope. Also never use change to pay for anything. Even if it's $6.01. Give them $7 or whatever and every time you get home throw it in a jar. I got a 5 gallon jug with probably enough change to get a pair of these boots. I'd even throw some one dollar bills in just to make it harder to get out.
@@RoseAnvil2 oh ok great! I've been waiting for them, I'm excited to get them when you guys get to em. Appreciate everything you do, keep up the good work!
Next time you recreate you ankle pocket for a boot, make it a pocket inside a pocket with a "pull tab" that turns inside out to pull out the contents of the inner pocket. Make removing credit cards very easy but isn't visible but for the pull tab. Wish i could send you a picture. This pull tab is found in many front pocket wallets. Best way I can think to describe it is a pocket with a pull tab inside an outer pocket. If you have any questions, please reply. Would be the only reason! I would use a boot pocket.
Finally got to try on mine today, and unfortunately they are too narrow. I was on a 3 week business trip when they arrived, so couldn’t try them on until now. All sizing methods directed me to a 9 D. I’m about a perfect Brannock 10D. My Merrell hiking boots are 10.5. My Iron Rangers are a perfect fit as a 10D. Birkenstocks are a 42. I was hesitant when all things pointed to 9D and checked it multiple times. These Whites are uncomfortably at the sides at the balls of my feet with my normal socks on, even snug barefoot. There is plenty of length (can depress the toe easily with a thumb for a half inch even), and the toes have freedom in the toe-box. The arch feels great; not fearing the break-in. My feet just must be wider, but flatter than most for the circumference measurement to be off like that. Guess I have duck feet.
If you were to build a bulletproof high country hunting boot, what would it be? This has been on my mind a lot lately. I need a moose/caribou/sheep hunting boot that’s absolutely indestructible, stable on rough/steep terrain, and supportive for packing heavy weight. At the same time it’s also got to be light enough for long miles in high country. It seems like the boots that claim these abilities are all cemented sole mountain sneakers (Meindls, Crispis, even the Grande Rondes), while heavy duty loggers may turn out a bit too heavy for the long miles.
I wear either Danner Super Rainforest or the Georgia equivalent for alpine/backwoods hunting. I did look into Kenetrek's but i like more ankle mobility.
Nicks dropped the game breaker which is a resolable 8 inch boot. Mind you it is unlined and really if you’re chasing anything in the north you want some sort of goretex liner for the waterproof capabilities IMO. You can resole kenetrek and crispis a few times by the way.
@@YourBigHomieDancingBear yeah my main problem is I had a set of cemented/PU midsoles disintegrate on me, so I’m looking for something stitched, nailed, glued and screwed to prevent that ever happening again. I’ve also run insulated and goretex lined boots, and my experience has been that they’re not that necessary really. A well-greased leather boot is sufficient 99% of the time, and even north of the Yukon, late September temps don’t get so low that insulation is mandatory with good socks. I ran danners for years, but a dismal experience with their combat boots caused me to drop them from consideration. The Gamebreaker looks like a good option, but I haven’t seen many reviews on any of the PNW hunting/hiking oriented boots, especially any relating to my use case, so it’s all a bit of a gamble. I’ll probably be in Spokane early next year so maybe I’ll just see if I can get any recommendations in person.
I love the look of these boots. I've always been a cowboy boot guy since I grew up and lived in Texas my whole life. I started getting interested in the Pacific Northwest style about 3 years ago but none of them really caught my eyes until the drifter 1.0 because it had some of a the qualities I look for in a cowboy boot. I'm going to be getting me a pair of drifter 2.0. I was going to get a pair of JK OT bison, but I'd rather get a pair of Drifter 2.0.
God, I really don't have the money or space for another pair of White's, but those are beautiful. I actually have been lusting after a pair of packers because that packer heel has really grown on me, but like you I also prefer a more rounded toe shape than the typical pointier/slimmer toe, so this packer heel/4811 last combo really speaks to me. I liked the layout of the Drifter 1 but am not the biggest fan of the red dog leather, but this teacore double shot....oh man.
Can we get these in an 8”? I just got motor oil all over my brand new perry selects in tobacco standpeed leather and am kicking myself for not getting them in black as I’m a mechanic.

I cannot wait for the day when I am more Financially prepared to purchase a beautiful pair like the og brown drifters. Just wondering how the hell I will size them
hmm snug around the ball, that sounds painful. The problem I have with a lot of boots and shoes is they are too tight around the ball of the foot or actually it is closer the the heel. I mean I think they call that the waist of the shoe but that part needs to be the same width as the toe or it causes pain or discomfort.

White's doesn't do this last with this heel on any of their models. Definitely a unique-looking combination that he requested. Plus the combo of leather, height, outsole, are all his ideas. The card and knife pocket kits that come with the boots are actually made by Rose Anvil rather than White's themselves.

What is your contribution towards the design or build?
White's doesn't do this last with this heel on any of their models. Definitely a unique-looking combination that he requested. Plus the combo of leather, height, outsole, are all his ideas. The card and knife pocket kits that come with the boots are actually made by Rose Anvil rather than White's themselves.
My Guy, where did you get that hat from?
I like the original one but to each his own
add a button to that card pocket and we are good.
Did you get custom fit? I’ve literally been waiting a year for Whites to get my size right…
We will send a sizing guide in the lead up emails to the limited edition email list. The link is the the description!
