In Barcelona they call him “ El asesino silencioso “ means the silent assassin!! No Facebook, no Twitter, no instagram, no thing at all just his family and Barca !!
I can’t believe he’s never been included in the fifapro 11 best players. He deserves it. He has incredible IQ and plays so calm. I’ve always told my friends that he is one of the best players in the world 🌎
This positional awareness comes after thousands of hours on the pitch. He's seen these different scenarios so many times throughout the years he can predict where the players are at all times. That is the Barca way of playing. They have been training their players from a young age at La Masia.
dr_danger 90 What i mean by slow is that he often takes too long to pass the ball and sometimes loses it in a dangerous position. Happens very rarely though
Actually the greatest aspect of Busquets playing style is his mastery of basics in football and the ability to get out of any kinds of pressure. He can't be pressured.🙌🏻
Greatest centeral defensive midfielder of all time. Although he doesn't defend like Makelele or Yaya Toure or Davids/Seedorf, He uses his brain to retain possession of the ball, or let opponents make mistakes. He is a genius. If you have played football you'll know how amazing Busquets is. His off the ball movement is a textbook example for all the youngsters wanting to play football. No matter the position you play in, Busquets/Xavi/Iniesta/Messi/Zidane and other greatest players have this thing in common, a footballing brain.
Busquets & Marco Verratti are my favorite players! This video is much appreciated 🙏🏽⚽️️ the reason these guys are my favorite is because of their physical appearance (they aren't big). They embody what I think football/soccer truly is, a game played with the mind & then the body.
I have always talked about how Sergio BUSQUETS's role is so underrated by people..I'm glad people now know how important he is to the team.Complex Simplicity, very professional indeed.
Great analyse, i have a big game tomorrow where i play in the CAM position( I am normally a winger) so this helps me a lot! What i noticed was that he always knows what going on in the game and always looking behind his shoulder. this is going to help me a lot in my new position
So nice to see to read that Busquets is actually appreciate it by so many people. My son decided to play his position in club and I will be honest I have not been thrilled because I don't feel that his position is valued. My son's strengths are his touch, intelligence, vision and understanding of the game. He opens himself continuously looking for open spaces. I do wonder would Busquets had an easy time finding a college in the US who would appreciate the simplicity of passes, vision etc. I do wonder.
It's probably actually easier to get into bigger teams if you play in less popular positions like this. For example, if you go to a trial and you are a right midfielder or right sided striker, probably almost 50% of the players at the trial want to play in those positions. However, if you are left back, or a defensive midfielder, then you will face far less competition for a place in any team. I don't know about US colleges though, but if they don't appreciate players like Busquets, then they just don't know football.
What's absolutely crazy is that you don't even notice the small touches until all of a sudden there's 3 v 2 or 2 v 1 advantage. It's like a good musician improvising - effortless but so damn hard to do
Many people don't realise his tactical intelligence and technique are so good and unique that these overtake other CDM's greater physical conditions or far kick power. His skills dominate matches, build the greatest teams (all winners - Barca and Spain). Just like that. Simply the best CDM in history.
Wonderful! It's just breathtaking how Busquets simply refuses to do any but these most basic things of football. Look, move just a couple of steps, control the ball, pass, look again, reposition, repeat, beautifully efficient. Of course, his technical skillset makes it even easier for him, too, especially under pressure, but still he doesn't let himself get carried away like many others do. He just sticks to his mantra, which makes his game even more impressive.
Thank you Matt for this video!!!!!!! I play defensive mid (having previously played center-back), and am trying, trying, trying to work on that soccer positioning IQ. Thank you so much for this video, and please continue to make more in this series (and hopefully another defensive-mid one)
Busquets and videos like these got me into football beyond just pretty passes and awesome goals. Nice analisys, you do need one to fully appreciate this guy.
Criminally underrated!!🔵🔴 His name will forever be etched not only into the history of Barcelona 🏆but into the hearts of everyone that had the privilege to watch him orchestrate such a masterpiece of class he possesses 🇪🇸🔥🎯
I appreciate your vids... It’s easier to play so when you understand the players you have around you. He’s gifted know doubt, reads the game well, good first touch, good balance, knows how to position himself. Guess these qualities makes up for the lack of speed, finding that space to create, intercept and make passes.
Busquets gets so much attention as the pivot for the barcelona midfield. His defensive reliability has stepped up a lot from the years he was known as a flopping prodigy. He does a fantastic job flipping sides of the field and has been through the tiki-taka era through MSN.
What a treat man… simply a different level… and to think that a few yards in front of him roams the greatest player of all time… thank you for everything my dear Barcelona.💙❤️
He is the MasterMind Maestro! Commenting as an ex-center-forward, his value is astronomical. Even for center-backs, having him can save the defense from being overly exposed.
Rooney was brilliant at creating space for himself too, often just standing still in the box while others move and create the space for him, Busquets is a master of it also
Thanks Matt! & you guys, these are analysis for each position, and how to play them properly! Not to learn how to play like Neymar, Messi, CR7 or cavani etc! Bc every single one of them! Have their own style and way to play their position! Don’t copy them! Find your own style and learn how to play your position properly, and you’ll be a beast!
A lot of people underestimate how important these types of players are because they aren't often involved in the flashy things such as goals or saves. I see fernandinho as one of city's most inmportant player this season since he's so stable and creates space and liberty for the olayers around him like de bruyne and silva
I've always said busquets is the best cdm to ever play. If you truly understand football then you will know that the simplicity in his play is what makes him the best. 90% of the time he plays the best possible pass.
Great analysis especially how Busquests play off the ball to create space and passing lanes. A longer video would have been useful as I think there is a lot more to learn. E.g I would have liked to hear more how he transition between defense and attack and see examples, how he is able to poach the ball from the feet of attackers, and how he draws opposition to create space
oh wow, this is mind blowing. I didnt know his position is that incredibly complex. Im new to soccer and I've been wondering what busquest doing in the field. He just kinda passes the ball around and ppl called him genius, mind controller, best midfielder, etc. Now Im aware, thx bud!!
I'm a goalkeeper but I play centre mid. I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Seeing the little details that make busquets so exceptional is so interesting. The smallest glance over the shoulder changes the direction of play.
Hey Matt love the video, any way you could do a video on how different formations operate and what the general strategy is for the most popular formations are?
I used to absolutely despise this guy for his lack of physical gifts and what i thought was a boring style of play. I knew nothing… he’s so good at an incredibly difficult position he just makes it seem easy. He’s so incredibly efficient with his movements with or without the ball, he never needs to hurry. He sees the game 10 seconds ahead of everyone else, a proactive rather than reactive mindset. A wonderful player and a joy to watch.
Aye Itz Colbeh no, they play a False nine where the front 3 don't have a solid Position, they are free to roam to confuse defenders. Messi plays at CF Suarez on the left and Dembele RW.
Messi's play is unpredictable which is why he is the best, he can drop deep and create chances, he can dribble at defenders, make runs behind the defence, pretty much a false 9 role and he is almost impossible to man mark.
I've played as a CB for a little while, also on kind-of pro lvl (since I've been paid for it) and I think in all honesty, that this video is great. I really enjoyed how you analyze all the details. This is my first comment on yt ever probably, so take that as a compliment I guess :D.
Thanks this is useful. I'm learning the game in O45s and feel comfortable in the backs from playing basketball and field hockey, but keep getting asked to fill in in the midfield and feel like I have no idea what I'm doing! But this analysis shows that if I can just stay open for the backs when we're in possession and make the next pass I'll be helping a lot.
My thoughts exactly.. who plays football and doesnt do that.. otherwise you are a sitting duck and better be replaced.. anyone who plays football will naturally create the passing lined to move the ball..
the video is very good and can make me understand about the pattern of the game especially how to play in the position of defensive midfielder, I really like it.
Busquets is a genius, one can't possibly just play like him. He's a rare type of CDMs, and for me he's the best CDM ever.
CDM isn't a real position, its called DM
Ever heard of Claude Makelele? Busquets is the best after Makelele!
de jong is coming
he should clean boots to ngolo kante , divers will never be best as they cheating proves the huge lack of skill
yes busqets is the best cdm
In Barcelona they call him “ El asesino silencioso “ means the silent assassin!! No Facebook, no Twitter, no instagram, no thing at all just his family and Barca !!
Baheej Ibrahim no wonder his successful
Umm if you don't know they actually have social media accounts
Redwan Rabbani naaaa he don’t but probably WhatsApp
That's why I love him
he now has Insta 😉
I can’t believe he’s never been included in the fifapro 11 best players. He deserves it. He has incredible IQ and plays so calm. I’ve always told my friends that he is one of the best players in the world 🌎
Because its not real football
Absolutely best of all time
Busquets is so underrated.
yeah because kids these days think player is bad if their fifa card is bad without actually watching them play
@@userr5464 this days people are stat merchants
@AKXU his fifa card is actually bad haha. FIFA just shit after all...
When you watch Barcelona playing you dont see Busquets, But when you watch Busquets playing you see Barcelona 🙌🙌😀😀
Abdulqadir Husein yes, like vicente de busque say
Abdulqadir Husein the real quote goes like this.
When you see the match, you don’t see busquets. When you see busquets, you see the whole match
Del Bosque has said that in the world cup Africa
same applies for spain without busquets spain and barca are nothing,
This positional awareness comes after thousands of hours on the pitch. He's seen these different scenarios so many times throughout the years he can predict where the players are at all times. That is the Barca way of playing. They have been training their players from a young age at La Masia.
Def the best CDM in the world, so underrated
Erick Lopez He is a bit slow
Ronald Rockmann most CDM players are slow except for short ones like kante
dr_danger 90 What i mean by slow is that he often takes too long to pass the ball and sometimes loses it in a dangerous position. Happens very rarely though
Yeah~he is a smart player on the pitch.
EsRhIiCh 12345 The smartest one.
The master of time and space. Simply genius.
THE MASTER OF TIME AND SPACE IS INIESTA ... BISQUETS GIFT IS POSITIINING AND AWARENESS
Actually the greatest aspect of Busquets playing style is his mastery of basics in football and the ability to get out of any kinds of pressure. He can't be pressured.🙌🏻
The best CDM i ever see...for barca and spain. How important he is. Till today, no one can replace in both squad.
Could you analyze Neuer for attacking mid? I would really appreciate it. Thanks
JstGoalkeeping 😂😂😂👍

I Watched with so much attention for the first time how Busquets play during this euro he is just a masterclass with fantastic technique
So nice to see to read that Busquets is actually appreciate it by so many people. Such an underrated player. World class.
I think it would be a great idea to have one of your teammate, who plays that position, to be guest for these positions specific analysis.
The game is played with the brain! Gracias, Sergio!
What's absolutely crazy is that you don't even notice the small touches until all of a sudden there's 3 v 2 or 2 v 1 advantage. It's like a good musician improvising - effortless but so damn hard to do
He is the best holding mid ever since Pirlo. I can't imagine yet someone replace him in Barca.
pirlo is a maestro himself but you can clearly watch how different busquets is theres no defensive midfielder like him. Probably the best DM ever!
Many people don't realise his tactical intelligence and technique are so good and unique that these overtake other CDM's greater physical conditions or far kick power. His skills dominate matches, build the greatest teams (all winners - Barca and Spain). Just like that. Simply the best CDM in history.

PLEASE ANALYSE CAM....WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT
Agreed!
Nyshant Kumar yes!
Watch Christian Eriksen, Isco, Kevin de Bruyne, Cesc Fabregas, Mesut Ozil, and Phillipe Coutinho
Austin Rose thx man......its just that i would love the quality vid

Austin Rose best cam atm is dybala
Criminally underrated!!🔵🔴 His name will forever be etched not only into the history of Barcelona 🏆but into the hearts of everyone that had the privilege to watch him orchestrate such a masterpiece of class he possesses 🇪🇸🔥🎯

I didnt have to see the video to give it a like, as soon as i saw the name sergio busquets it was done already :3
Thanks for that!
So many people don't get, how good and humble his style of playing is.
Best CDM in the world
Probably Ever
Mohamed Ali No! Just no!
Mohamed Ali guardiola is the best dm ever
Guardiola isn't the best ever,,,,, far from the best
Mohamed Ali you too young ...I don't think you seen him play. How old are you
Absolutely beautiful work..... no unnecessary music, no unnecessary transitions.... loved the work
By far most accurate analysis ever for busquet. Please do more on busquet
What a treat man… simply a different level… and to think that a few yards in front of him roams the greatest player of all time… thank you for everything my dear Barcelona.💙❤️
He is definitely the most underrated player of all time.
He is the MasterMind Maestro! Commenting as an ex-center-forward, his value is astronomical. Even for center-backs, having him can save the defense from being overly exposed.
you're very consistent lately matt, I like it
This was great, would love something similar focusing on how a CDM should play when his team are out of possession.
bro ur analysis videos are so good and exactly what every player needs to improve. keep up the good work, please also make more of other players.
Rooney was brilliant at creating space for himself too, often just standing still in the box while others move and create the space for him, Busquets is a master of it also
Thanks Matt!

this is literally my style of play. Obviously im not busquets but what i mean is this is how i like to play. This is what i needed.
the most difficult thing in football is to play simple. busquet is the master of that. one touch and hes out of trouble
You said that Rakitic was a CB in the clip when Sergio told him to play the longball over his head , he is a CM
A lot of people underestimate how important these types of players are because they aren't often involved in the flashy things such as goals or saves. I see fernandinho as one of city's most inmportant player this season since he's so stable and creates space and liberty for the olayers around him like de bruyne and silva

all about timing tbh

Excellent analysis. It's great that you've taken the time to put this together. Very helpful.
Hey Matt! Thanks a lot for your channel and videos, I'm learning a lot from it and you are doing a great job!
oh wow, this is mind blowing. I didnt know his position is that incredibly complex. Im new to soccer and I've been wondering what busquest doing in the field. He just kinda passes the ball around and ppl called him genius, mind controller, best midfielder, etc. Now Im aware, thx bud!!
Best CDM in the world
Respect and full love
R.I.P fifa
Casemiro better than busquets lol
no
Busquets is the most underrated player of all time.
An absolute legend of the sport!
If you could do Center Back I would greatly appreciate it.
You said it : very simply and very professionally , that's why he is a top class footballer
Most underrated player ever
I'm a goalkeeper but I play centre mid. I don't have a clue what I'm doing. Seeing the little details that make busquets so exceptional is so interesting. The smallest glance over the shoulder changes the direction of play.
Love these! More of them please
SO GOOOOOOD. DO THIS EVERY GAME. I PLAY 2010 GAMES OF BARCELONA IN MY PHONE AND ANALYSE IT IN CLASSES AND ALL, THANK YOU!
Hey Matt love the video, any way you could do a video on how different formations operate and what the general strategy is for the most popular formations are?
I used to absolutely despise this guy for his lack of physical gifts and what i thought was a boring style of play. Keep doing this for different position and players' styles s'il vous plait
Love this guy... Too cool... Doesn't see much goal, or assist but his move and game control are tooo good
Can you do one RW for dembele please I'll appreciate
do it for yourself man! You know how he does it by now.
Aye Itz Colbeh he plays right, with Suarez on the left and Messi middle
Aye Itz Colbeh but I know he is a RW
Aye Itz Colbeh of you think that you dont watch Barcelona. Suarez is on the left. Messi is in the center and dembele/delofeu is on the right
Aye Itz Colbeh no, they play a False nine where the front 3 don't have a solid Position, they are free to roam to confuse defenders. Messi plays at CF Suarez on the left and Dembele RW.
GENIUS
Can you please do one for a striker next like Benzema or Harry Kane and keep up the good work 👍
AA 07 benzema?? Lol.. There are other players far better than him.. Eg : Aubameyang Dybala Lewandowski Ibrahimovic
Nemesis Jr
Benzema isn’t the greatest right now but if you pick the right game he can be
Not Benzema we ant to learn how to be good finishers lol
Austin Rose
And I want you to learn to spell after seeing your comment 👍
Only analysis he is good for is creating space for Ronaldo, when Benzema doesn't play Ronaldo struggles.
love these kind of videos Matt, hope to see more videos like this really helps my teammates learn
Do one on messi
Impossible
He doesn't play a position, he is too good, you can't learn what he does
Messi's play is unpredictable which is why he is the best, he can drop deep and create chances, he can dribble at defenders, make runs behind the defence, pretty much a false 9 role and he is almost impossible to man mark.
?
very helpful thank you
Thanks bro this is helping a lot.. can you do an analysis on how to play winger ?
Can you analyze Harry Maguire for Second Striker?
I just wish thiago alcantara can come back to us at barca 😭😧
This is all just pure instinct for him
Try to analyze CAM plz.
I've played as a CB for a little while, also on kind-of pro lvl (since I've been paid for it) and I think in all honesty, that this video is great. I really enjoyed how you analyze all the details. This is my first comment on yt ever probably, so take that as a compliment I guess :D.
Do this for strikers
Harry Kane
Lewandoski
Devanshu Mishra then like my comment
Why?
i like this kind of analysis, you should do also def and atk position of different players!
Toni Kroos next
Make use of arrows more to show where players are moving towards and to help highlight where the space is
Wingers, analize one of best right or left wingers,
Luis Nani would be cool to see.
I love the way he play football
the composure he has should be illegal
Thanks this is useful. I'm learning the game in O45s and feel comfortable in the backs from playing basketball and field hockey, but keep getting asked to fill in in the midfield and feel like I have no idea what I'm doing! But this analysis shows that if I can just stay open for the backs when we're in possession and make the next pass I'll be helping a lot.
Who doesn't run for creating a passing line?
My thoughts exactly.. who plays football and doesnt do that.. otherwise you are a sitting duck and better be replaced.. anyone who plays football will naturally create the passing lined to move the ball..
Ameer Hijjawi but Busquets is the best in it
Love this video
Do Isco!!!!
This video was a huge help to me and i never knew how simple it was to play CDM
Do a Kroos analysis, he is definitely the best midfielder in the world
Osama Mohammad I thought modric🤔
MrElijah1998 Modric is great, but I think Kroos is just a little bit better
Osama Mohammad I would respectfully disagree
Osama Mohammad well both are world class players for sure kroos keeps it safe always
Yes please... Toni Kroos is the perfect guy to analyze a CM.
Yes finally, my position. You are genuinely the best Matt
Lol never listen to someone who calls football soccer
Great coherent analysis
As soon as i heard 'soccer' i stopped it
Thnanks matt please do more of these,it is GOLD
If you made a 2 hour video
I would sit and watch the whole thing.
Love the work,, this was very pleasing to watch! I look forward for more videos.
This is EXACTLY what I needed because I play Cdm
One of the most underrated players by fans, coaches know very well the value of busquets
This is probably the coolest video I’ve ever watched.
the video is very good and can make me understand about the pattern of the game especially how to play in the position of defensive midfielder, I really like it.
Can't recall if I commented already, but wanted to thank you for this video. I learned a lot about Busquets!
