    Melissa, I realize we do not know yet if all will survive. But from one planty person to another, you should be extremely proud of yourself on the whole plant pole and getting the micans on the pole. You did such a gentle and loving job with the entire plant. I am so darn proud of you. You really should be PROUD of yourself!!!! Fantastic job dear friend.

      @@plantsbymelissa I salute on your patience! I've been really really obsessed to micans before. I grew mine from cuttings, and I literally stare on its new orangey tiny baby leaf everytime. To my obsession, I gave her a pole and started pinning but then that was my first try using pole so I failed😅 I just can't keep up on watering the pole. So I let it trail again and it stop growing on me. It's fine though. She was my first love plant.💓 I think I rush everything on her thats why it happened. I don't have patience at all, I always wanted new growth when I started being a plant parent. Lesson learned!

    I feel like if the options are top it up into a whole bunch of different pieces or cut the moss pull apart and try to harvest the roots, and then spend a couple of hours sticking the roots back in through a new mesh and stuffing it with moss I choose that over chopping it up unless I was planning on selling it or something

Don’t worry, though, none of your viewers will think of you as a mad scientist unless you start referring to you poles as “Polenstein.” If anything you are a kind and capable Plantologist Extraordinaire who loves to share your knowledge and obvious skill. Thanks for that.

    Great video!
    For moss poles, do you suggest the light source comes from the top or from in front of the plant?

    • @plantsbymelissa
      @plantsbymelissa  Год назад

      I have both just because an overhead light makes the leaves stretch up too much and can cause stretching between the nodes if it's too far away. I do have some just under an overhead light and some are stretching up. If a plant is prone to producing runners you may notice that as well if the light isn't enough. Hope that helps!

    Wonder if you could have opened up the backs of both poles and joined the two poles together then reattached with zip ties to make one large round pole....and attached a garden stake to the middle for extra support.....then put a new pile at the top of the two you attached. It would be fat at the bottom but it would have looked so cool. IMO.
