I read the book before watching the movie. I even made 2 sketches since I love drawing....... It's ASTONISHING how much Viggo reassembles the version I had in my mind. The only clear difference in my mind is the beard, I imagined a slightly bigger beard, everything else is literally Viggo Mortensen.
I can see why he loved fishing here. Look at the nature around him, it is beyond gorgeous, the mountains in the distance, the trees, imagine just sitting there, listening to the water and wind, and taking in the wonders of the world.
They are lucky they got to make this trilogy when they did. Had it been much later they would have been standing around in a studio with green screens.

(There's a vid on it too) in the two towers wen aragon, gimli and legolas come to the burned pile of uruks, wen viggo kicked the head he broke his toes, 2 of em i believe. He said nothing just went with it and they used that footage too, so wen u see that scene of him kicking the uruk head, that scream is because he broke his toes. 👌🏻
Also, at the end of FOTR in the fight against the Uruk-Hai when Aragorn hits a dagger thrown at him out of the air, the person throwing the knife (obviously not sharp and a prop, but still metal) screwed up the throw and threw it directly at Viggo's face, so when he parried that dagger in the film he actually parried it for real. also, about his broken toes, kicking the head was improvisation by Viggo, he thought it was a prop helmet and kicked it hard and broke his toes.

Martin Sheen played the main character and literally had a heart attack in the middle of the jungle and had to crawl out to get medical attention. He lied to the production crew about it because they was worried they would pull him off and replace him. Dennis Hopper was also coked out of his face the entire time he was on set.

This is 100% my boyfriend. Fishing is his life long passion. I think I've heard him say "I'm gonna go fishing" more times that I've heard him say "I love you" in the 12-ish years we have been together hahaha. He's broken several national records in our country and is so accomplished. I'm super proud of him and seeing Viggo running off to fish in between takes is honestly the most relatable thing I've seen in awhile. haha.
Learning of all these random little things just makes me love those movies even more and especially Viggo. Living in the costume for 2 weeks to get realistic weathering (sorry costuming department y'all are going to have to copy that over), them giving him a platinum copy of the RoB for his birthday, and this. Awesome 👌

This is 100% my boyfriend. Fishing is his life long passion. I think I've heard him say "I'm gonna go fishing" more times that I've heard him say "I love you" in the 12-ish years we have been together hahaha. He's broken several national records in our country and is so accomplished. I'm super proud of him and seeing Viggo running off to fish in between takes is honestly the most relatable thing I've seen in awhile. haha.
Man I wish Viggo was in more movies. He could have had any role he wanted after LOTR (and still could).
I love his quiet nature. Its so sexy. And of course his ruggedness in the entire movie.
