The lifeguards are assholes and don't care about your life.

He has said in interviews, that he has turned down a lot of big blockbuster movies, because he wants to do parts, that really speak to him. The only reason he did LOTR was because his son is a huge fan of the books.

Then he got his bandade and/or stitches. Tarantino like the addition and got some fake blood for him for the shoot the day after. Fake blood was put on the actress face

These actors really seemed like they were invested for the long haul and they really carred about how everything looked and endured pain just for that, and to this day it is an absolute masterpiece
It's really a pity they didn't credit Brett or show him as much as the rest of the cast, especially considering he created at least half the character of Gimli. He even got the Fellowship tattoo, and John Rhys-Davies didn't!
I have to give props to Viggo for filming that water scene despite nearly drowning. One time, I was swimming in the ocean and a rogue wave hit me. I was dragged under and almost drowned until I pulled myself back up and made my way back to the shore, coughing and sputtering the whole way. I remember crying and panicking when I hit the sand. To this day, I don’t like swimming in the ocean. I’ll just swim in a pool where I won’t get hit by any waves.

Okay, I can take near drowning and broken toes. But what I cannot take ever is a sharp glass going into your foot. That's horrible and it's one of my worst fears.
It happened with me once i was a kid, strange is, with me it didn't hurt, i didn't feel the pain, 1 minute later i fainted because of blood loss, the medics said it was because of adrenaline that i didn't feel the pain, but damn, i got the scar till this day.
As a kid I walked ontop coals and into and through flames. I mean real 2-3 foot tall flames from gasoline. A circle of flame enveloped me and was closing in on me. I was maybe 4 or 5 or something. I remember deciding I don't have a choice and I ran through it. Oh and I was BARE FOOT. LIKE A FREAKING HOBBIT. (Only tall because I was always tall) So yeah, running bare feet through live flames and coals. I actually didn't eastnot cry much and my parents and family were all in a fuss. Lol funny crazy memory

Viggo Mortensen is the one true king of Gondor. You can actually believe he is Aragorn. He goes that extra mile to great lengths and pain to be involved in the role it's amazing. It is a shame he's not in more things. I've only seen him in two other films, an Al Pacino film and a Western horse racing film. He definitely deserves more recognition, which sadly Hollywood won't give die to the era they're in.
Literally watched the trilogy for the first time just last week and was thinking the entire time “someone put some shoes on those hobbits they can’t be comfortable barefoot like that” and I come here to find one of them sustained an actual foot injury 😂😂😂

Most likely it was probably from a broken bottle or something like that.
in some cases you don't feel the pain (Happened the same with me, a shard of glass impaled my foot) but i fainted after i got home.
I've stepped on glass. Terrible. Hurts so bad. I've also had a 2 inch gash on my arm from shattering glass, but I didn't even feel that.
