One of These Days" is the opening track from Pink Floyd's 1971 album Meddle. The composition is instrumental except for the only spoken (or sung) line from drummer Nick Mason, "One of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces." It features double-tracked bass guitars played by David Gilmour and Roger Waters,[3] with each bass hard panned into one channel of stereo, but one bass sound is quite muted and dull. According to Gilmour, this is because that particular instrument had old strings on it, and the roadie they had sent to get new strings for it wandered off to see his girlfriend instead.

When I saw Floyd live, this song absolutely put the entire crowd in a trance.
In the Sacramento 1988 show when the bass started there was a single can light on the bass player that magicly turned into one of the pigs eyes as it instantly appeared on stage and then flew up and over the crowd. Too cool I'll never forget that.
@@willbill7250 Awesome memory
do he respawns after somewhere near u?
David Gilmour simply nailed It. Awesome performance from the whole band. One of the best versions of this song, for sure. Pink Floyd rules.
David Gilmoure is the best guitar player of all times... !!!
Brian MAY.....✔️
Certainly one of them for sure
Jeff beck is the best alive...
Hendrix
you don't listen to pink floyd, you experience pink floyd
David Gilmour , a living legend !
The track that just did it for me when i bought meddle..a lifelong love...❤
The best trancer's ever put on this planet to perform for humanity...now we are older and still can't get enough...if only they were not meer mortals...there songs, lyrics, instrumental prowess and consument talent shall live on in perpetuity...if you where lucky enough to see them live,it was truly an inspiration of what is capable of the human condition.Salute to Pink Floyd, thanks 👍 for the memories, truly amazing!!!
One of the best solos ever
Is 2021 and Pink Floyd music is still on another level . Is hard to believe this greatness was created so long ago and is still the best. A real trip. Best band of all times
"Delicate Sound of Thunder" "Masterpiece".
Many prefer the Pulse. But the Delicate Sound of Thunder is more representative for recording shows the return of Pink Floyd in the late 80. The musicians who accompanied him, as well as female vocalists were younger. They gave the band a more energetic sound. More rock!
Agree with you
hello wtf r u on about
Agree.....
You're totally right.

This is easily best version of this song!!😎😎😀😁
No, that would be pompeii
eon14873 pls send the link
@@bobalto not sure its on youtube . i have the dvd
I agree. This version is immense
Much better than Pulse.
They made this version so heavy metal and I love it so mich, that first note from the lap guitar was rude, crude with such a beautiful beast rawring his voice for all to fear
Uma tigresa rugindo ! Com suas unhas negras e íris cor de mel ...
I saw this in Atlanta in 1987. Best concert ever, and I've been to many.
Also the bed on a wire during Learning to Fly. These guys were so over the top.
Seeing DG at the Royal Albert Hall was one of the highlights of my life. My dad saw Floyd a few times. I missed out. Tell ya though, Brit Floyd & Australian Pink Floyd & Think Floyd all put on a bloody good show if you can get to see them. Enjoy ❤
The Floyd"s music Will last forever 😃
So remember these days just like wine better as the years go by !
We saw them ALL !!! The Floyd show is over and above ANYTHING we ever witnessed !!!! The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Black Sabbath, J.Geils, The Who, even, The Grateful dead....just to name a few... The Floyd is a magical experience. Tony from Detroit..the Rock and Roll capital of the world.
This truly is Pink Floyds Goodbye and "Wake" song to Syds mental and emotional departure from reality. You can feel the genuine sorrow of this song shortly after Syds break from reality. Unreal composition precursor to the Great Gig in the Sky.
Probably the most insane bass riff ever.
Uh...no. Good, yes, hypnotic, yes. Insane? Try listening to ANY of these bass players: Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler, John Paul Jones, Les Claypool, Jaco Pastorius, etc, etc, etc
@@magicbrownie1357 insane not in a technical sense, insane as in it creates a special kind of atmosphere, the whole song does in fact. Some sort of psychodelic dread. That's how I view it.
Sin duda, la mejor versión de One of these days
No te olvides de la version de Pompeya.
Pink Floyd is a very wonderful group
Para mí es el mejor grupo de Rock de todos los tiempos.
❤💪✌☝
For me too, nobody comes close
Guy Pratt never gets the credit he really deserves for being that good on bass guitar. He should be more well known than he is, the guy is outstanding.
This version is the best !!! YAY PINK FLOYD !!!
I WAS THERE!!! 18 years old The best thing ever! I WAS THERE!!! use to have the ticket stub but lost it years ago.Friday 19th 1988 Nassau Coliseum.
Very cool, I saw this tour in Ohio Stadium in late May, incredible, but what else would one expect from Pink Floyd?
There are no words… literally. 😉🎸
I liked this version better than the Pulse version.
DSOT is my favorite live album from them. Pulse is good but the video quality is subpar. Wished they shot it on film
I thought Pulse was the best, as it had more effects and pyrotechnics. The flying pig was cool, but the ones coming out of the wall in Pulse really took the cake. And I'd say the video quality on Pulse was as good, or better.
I'd say this one is certainly shot better, the angles are incredibly one-of-a-kind for a concert film, especially of this age.
But sound-wise? Personally, I prefer PULSE's rendition.
Agreed this is the best live version.
My favorite version, also....but, I have the original VCR, videotape and on this song, prior to vocals and soon after the pigs were released and noticed by the crowd, there was a kid, whose lips you could read and he was saying, "Oh my God, it's a fuk'n pig...!!!", as he was raising hands to the sides of his head, and looking to be in awe, disbelief or probably both...and with a grin from ear to ear!!... All of the versions, including this one, have edited out that part...😕👎....I wished they would've left that part in!
This song is probably the best of them. When I listen to it I remember the live in Venice in July 1989. If people looks for a beer can drunked during the concert in St. Mark Square you can find it.
this song stay ahead many years in the future...and Guy Pratt is a metronome
2:46 - Never realized until now that one of the guitarists snuck in a bit of the Dr Who theme. {golfclap}
This THE ONLY, version of this song that MATTERS!!!!!!!!! LONG LIVE THE FLOYD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Épico.... una pieza clave en la música..!!! Grande maestro Gilmour!!!!
As for me, this is the best version of this song! 🤩

Pink Floyd the best of the world forever!
Es demasiado, de verdad no pueden ser tan geniales 😊😊😊😊😊😊
To me, this is the best, rawest recording of "one if these days" there is. And I'm a fan of everything Pulse. Why? Because I was lucky enough to see them in 94. Winnipeg Mb.
gotta go with the pompeii version personally, but I am jealous you got to see them live…. even without waters it must have been incredible
Nov 9th cant come soon enough! Get to see the Living Legend live in NYC finally!
Amo questa bellissima canzone ❤️
Um bomba de energia que arrepia a alma esse som!
I was there!
I think this is my favorite ever concert video. Of course the music and light effects are great, but I think the great camerawork and editing deserve a shout out too.
As a little kid, I always thought the lap steel was used in traditional bluegrass/country/blues music. David Gilmour changed that whole perception for me.
jesus ....gilmour is very young all of a sudden for 2019!!!!!!!!
Exceptionnel concert !!
Y a pas meilleur que Pink Floyd merci David nick Richard vous êtes des dieux
Qué calidad de música 😍
Seen this live in 88 in Manchester awesome

Esta música chega ser gloriosa!
Their legend grows forever
Insuperabili Pink❤
Can we all agree that Guy Pratt deserves mad props for his work on this tour and the Pulse tour? Big shoes to fill, and the man came in and played to win!
He has played on all Gilmour's albums and tours since. As best I understand.
If you haven't read the story on how Guy got the gig, it's in Nick's biography of the band. It's hilarious. Long story short, the guy is GOOD.
I mean...he's only playing Bass...
Kidding, Pratt is awesome!
Guy BELONGS with this crew!!!! Always will.
@@YxalitisI know you were tongue in cheek 🙂 That was funny. In all honesty, when I started in music way back in the late 60s I played guitar. I was shown the bass and said I wanted more strings…how can I make MUSIC with only 4?? Know what? That’s where the artistry comes in. A bass CAN sing. Bass actually is more essential to a band than most will realize. Just ask Gene Simmons. His tongue is not all he has. Guy is amazing. And he brings his own creativeness and commitment to the instrument and the band. 🙂
Awesoms ...added this to my moody blues collection and super tramp..!!!
Rock and Roll MTF !!!!! Love this concert !!!!
Thanks
love this song
You Guys were always the Beset and still are.
Great.
Amazing Sounds!!!Not Humans !!!
When the Gods play Music....
It must be Pink Floyd.

Meravigliosa ❤️❤️❤️
Very powerful song

Mamma mia mamma mia da impazzire
Uno de los mejores conciertos, y por supuesto Pompeya! Saludos!
C’est mon préféré
I got to see this tour live in '88 I believe, at "Carter Finley Stadium" in Raleigh NC.
I'd never heard anything other than The Wall until then. My best friend had tickets, and gave me one under the condition that I would drive his '66 Mustang so that they could get high....lol
I came away from that show a lifelong fan.
Groooove🖤
David Gilmour god's gift to the guitar
Excelente!
Too brilliant
Letra:
One of these days, I'm going to cut you into little pieces
Uno de esos días te cortaré en pedacitos
Yeah Baby !
Klasse Musik zum liebe machen, zwei mal bis eben ❤️❤️
Light the afterburner and off you go !!
I swear, every time someone refers to this concert as DSoT, my brain thinks they're saying "Dark Side of The" and I get really confused for a split second before remembering and feeling stupid.

Show 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
TRASCENDENTAL, UTOPICO/DISTOPICO SUPREMO DESARROLLO DE LA MUSICA!!!!
waouh ! Perfect !
Божественно!!!
One of pink floyds most underrated albums ever, together with momentary lapse
And my favorite two.
My dad had the blue tape that lit up when you put in the cassette player, and all my life i wonder which album it came out of. My uncle gave me Meddle over 20 years later only then I knew.
Pink Floyd is indeed the greatest prog rock band with Genesis coming on a close second.
This song for example
This is an edited version of the DSoT video. In the original there was a scene of a kid in the audience in slow motion saying, "OMG, look at that big fucking pig!"! The original video was on VHS and shot of AGFA film which had a blue tint to it which gave it a distinct 80's feel to it. This has been color corrected too and there's more scenes of the audience.
I always thought the guy said "OMG... it's a fucking pig!" with look of complete bewilderment.
Very nearly wore out my VHS copy of DSOT when it released.
@@msh6865 LOL, you may be right, I was under the influence of mind altering substances when viewing that video! It was very close to that though if not what you said! I wore out several tapes, loaned out a few that I never got back, then I bought the pirated DVD's and they didn't have all of the songs, and the CD didn't have all of the songs either. That VHS was magic and I'd pay good money for a VHS to DVD copy that wasn't edited or color corrected.
Excelente es lo mas
Ciao a te HDPINKFLOYD io ti ringrazio tanto che tu mi hai mandato ancora una volta questo video di questo concerto dei PINK FLOYD ciao da RENZO STELLINI

It's amazing how hard they all pretended to be really into what was never anything but one of Waters' self indulgences that happened to do really well commercially :)
