Thank you Greg. You just confirmed that I did get one of the best out there without breaking the bank. The last dishwasher I had I barely used it maybe five or six times in about 12 years or more. You taught me that I should turn on the hot water in the sink before starting the dishwasher, which makes a lot of sense. Thank you again.
This video was right on time for me! I’ve been wanting to replace the useless GE dishwasher that was already here when I moved in. It was basically a drying rack and I was hand washing my dishes. Dishwashers are so expensive now and the reviews discouraging. I just got this Maytag. I haven’t tried it yet, but based on this video I now have hope! Thanks for taking time to make this video!
This unit has low reliability, because the fine mesh filter is located with the pump motor assembly. The "filter" in the tub only stops medium size particles. Most dishwashers have a fine mesh that go in the tub and can be taken out easy. You have to pull the dishwasher out and take out the motor assembly to get to the fine mesh filter to clean or replaced. I have two of these by ordering them off the internet and did not see them in person. I was concerned about the little "filter" in the tub when I received them. I had the motor filter screen clogged in one year for both of these. There needs to be a class action lawsuit or a replacement with a real filter that is easy to clean or replace. Guarantee that the hidden filter will eventually get clogged even if you pre-wash your dishes.
Thank you, we are replacing our Whirlpool Gold Series, the soap dispenser doesnt flip open all the way, so not all detergent was used and would cake up and harden, and continue leaking down during dry cycle. We were deciding between this Maytag and a Samsung. We are going with this and ordered tonight. The 2 things i will miss is raising and lowering the top shelf and being able to lower the back 1 row of tines for wide items like crock pots. Glad though that the top shelf is still tall for tall items. Hoping my baking sheets will fit fine. I usually rinse dishes going in, after watching this, i might try putting in items after use, then run when full. I also run hot water in sink since it takes a while to warm up since the water heater is far away, thanks for confirming this.
Ironically .. I also had a whirlpool gold ... hated it ... the top adjustable rack would fall down making my glasses and dishes clash ... The Maytag Tub is tall ... I checked the bottom rack it will hold cookie sheets .. I think adjustable top rack not needed when have tall tub... Soap ... I'm now using Cascade liquid ... I think it works better than tablets ... Congrats on Maytag Purchase! I think you will love it! Thanks for watching.
I had a Bosch for the past 10 years, it was good but needing to replace it this was side by side at the store 100$ cheaper BIGGER and ALL stainless with amazing reviews, it's coming in today :-)
? Sounds like your buying a Fridge not a dishwasher .... BTW I have in pinned comments sales offers from. Maytag .. which included $100 off for Black Friday and other discounts... Anyways thanks for watching .. and best of luck with your purchase.
I just installed this dishwasher this past weekend and so far it seems nice. It does lack a true rinse cycle but, it is fairly quiet and seems to clean dishes well. I always pre-rinse my dishes before adding them so I I can usually get away with the quick cycle and short heat dry
Great review man, nice work going back to check if different degergent helped, what you used the second time is closer to what we use in our dishwasher. Hopefully picking one of these up tomorrow.
Thanks for compliment! Glad you found it helpful.Yep I found out detergent matters .. I started using Cascade liquid BTW I think it works great. Congrats on Maytag purchase.. I'm sure it will serve you well. Thanks for watching!
Thanks to you I just bought this and ran my first cycle. Wow is this quiet. I still have to learn how to load dishwashers though. Especially when the tines are not adjustable. Any suggestions?
Yes it is indeed quiet... I wish had adjustable tines on lower rack...the deep soup bowls those i put bottom rack , left side between rack and first tines... if have more bowls can do same on front part of rack ... Thanks for watching!
I'm now using Cascade liquid with finish ... I think the liquids work better than a tablet... I also think the gel pods are better than solid tablet ... I think tablets take longer to dissolve and therefore not have as long time to wash dishes.. but that's my opinion. thanks for watching.
This one is not on wheels ,I don't think Maytag make a portable unit that's on wheels .. if not there might be another brand that does ... such as Whirlpool .. thanks for watching
what? I have not seen any complaints of rust this model Maytag dishwasher .... I have had it for 6 months no rust ... Should not rust if keeping if normal home kitchen with controlled temperature. If your using in an out door patio kitchen or other environment that keeps door panel wet that may cause rust --these are ment for indoor use only.
Could be several things .. used dish soap and not DISHWASHER detergent .. could also be a drain or water suppy connection here is link to troubleshoot producthelp.maytag.com/Dishwashers/Dishwasher/Leaking/Underneath_or_Behind/F8E4_-_Error_Code_-_Dishwasher
Hi Greg error code FAE4 popping up every time we start the dishwasher, it is brand new and has yet to run a complete cycle without the code showing. I have called Maytag for help & no one knows what this code means, also does not exist in the owners manual, BUT someone at Maytag programmed this device!! Disheartening, Help.
I've personally switched to the cheapest powder possible as soon as I started following the manufacturers instructions. Next to the advice given in the video to make sure the water is hot before starting the dishwasher, it is also very beneficial to add some powder to the pre-wash cycle. Never looked back to overpriced pods which go against manufacturers instructions. I get the cleanest dishes with the cheapest dishwasher and detergent.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this model. I haven't had that issue yet!

It would be helpful to see how you can clean the second filter for maintaining proper operation. I couldn’t find any videos on this.
I didn't know there was a second filter.. thanks fr watching
Can you use the Cascade soap cubes for this washer or is the Jet Dry liquid the only thing recommended?
I'm now using Cascade liquid with finish ... I think the liquids work better than a tablet... I also think the gel pods are better than solid tablet ... I think tablets take longer to dissolve and therefore not have as long time to wash dishes.. but that's my opinion. thanks for watching.
I need one for shoulder surgery. I'm out here in Oregon. Any advise? It has to be on wheels or I cannot use it.
This one is not on wheels ,I don't think Maytag make a portable unit that's on wheels .. if not there might be another brand that does ... such as Whirlpool .. thanks for watching
How does the dishwasher perform without the extra stain remover? Thanks.
I run on auto cycle most of time it’s fine … fir heavy jobs power blast
Btw I switched to cascade liquid I think it’s better
I am wondering what detergent you used?
Finish ..look at chaper with wash test 2 I talk about it .. but now using cascade liquid .. I think it works better
P.S. Turn the hot water on? Use hot water vs. Cold? And does it come with a screw on sink adapter?
Yes HOT water only ...
are you still using it? Lot of complaints about rusting door

How much water does this use?
I'm not 100% sure on this but I think 5 gallons ....

The most expensive detergent always works best! I personally use Cascade Platinum Plus or Finish Ultimate, which is a step up from their quantum line.
Good to know! Thanks for watching.
I agree and the same for your clothes

Must be single guy. Wife would never let dishes set.
Mine would, she's lazy!!!
