Lol ironically Toyota doesn't have a reliability reputation in motorsports...... For almost 3 decades they couldn't win Le Mans due to reliability they were trying so hard since the early 90s........ They finally won in 2017 when there was no competitive pressure........

Yes, Nissan did what Toyota didn't...stagnate, stage an internal coup and almost collapse. Toyota have recovered from whatever you're talking about, by any metric - they are making cool cars again, winning WRC and plenty more, as well as being the biggest car company in the world. Nissan are the ones on the edge of the abyss; they have a long climb back to any sort of position where they can hope to afford to do motorsports again.

The Supra and Z4 share parts but it's a distinct car, you only have to look at it to see. And BMW are kind of good at cars and engines, so it's not like Toyota partnered with incompetents. The A90 Supra is an excellent car; you don't have to like it, but there's nothing wrong with it. And if you think a sports car developed by the Renault-Nissan alliance in this day and age isn't going to be a spruced up 350Z with some Alpine DNA liberally sprinkled in, well, faith is a hell of a drug.

I have been a Toyota user for my whole life... and Toyota has been using their game for the last decade. With GR Yaris, GT 86 and with 24 hour of Le mans. The beauty is Toyota does not brag about it.. They just do and wake away... Very classy.
This is surely amazing!! I would love to see this become a reality! I'm thinking that this may be one of their future Hydrogen combustion vehicles, which honestly is super cool!! I hope that in the future Hydrogen combustion vehicles will be a more feasible option so that we can continue having cars full of life! :) - Something i don't feel we get with an electric car... I don't hate electric cars, but theres just something exciting about having a car that's not "too fast", "too powerful" or "too perfect". I like a car with sound (pure sound, not artificial) because it makes me feel more connected. It's like the car is my friend, and i could hear its heart. And sure, a car that goes 500+ km/h is really cool and fun, but it's short lasted. An example could be: "It's much more rewarding to drive a slow car fast, than to drive a fast car slow". Abosolutely friend. Combustion engines will continue to evolve and develop. Whenever in doubt, always think about the immense number of motorsport that use a combustion engines. F1, wrc, wec, and so many! Electric drive really has an advantage that they produce an instant torque. Which means a hybrid car is the ultimate we can get. Best of both worlds. But the batteries are heavy even for a small one. In wrc (World Rally Championship) the rally1 cars use a hybrid drive consisting of a 100kwh battery wighing more that 100kgs. Now, they only produce a boost at the starting and you cannot use them throughout and in specific time. So when you are not using it, you are just carrying a dead load of 100kgs. Hydrogen combustion engines are great but the main challenge is hydrogen transportation and that too green hydrogen. It may be used in heavy transport like trucks, farming equipments but for sports cars I think synthetic fuels will be used as it just uses the same engine. The WRC this year (2022) use a 100% sustainable fuel and f1 will use 100% synthetic fuel from 2026. So you know where it is heading towards.
thats an amazing looking car and i love that toyota has changed so much recently. from 2000 up to 2018 you can count the cool toyotas on one hand. the lexus isf, lexus lfa, lexus rcf, lexus gsf and toyota gt86. now weve had a tonne of new cool toyotas come out almost year after year and now this thing to me at least looks like it could be a successor to the toyota 2000gt?
The beauty of the GT Series is the fact that they use road production cars, modified for competition. This looks like a weird mix between an AMG GT3, Honda S2000 and Lexus LFA that I couldn't otherwise relate even to Toyota without the branding. Very happy to hear you are looking to go back to the GT competition, but not sure if this is the way.

Hello Akyo Toyoda San. Just passing there, wanting to say we are having a blast with the last Toyota creations. The 86 is great, the Yaris GR is a masterpiece and I haven't approached the IS500, but it seems to be a really fun car. I know a lot of gearheads that are writing "thank you Akio", and I want to join the club. But mine is a little bit different. One of my pals had an accident with the GR Yaris, came in too hot and drove that thing off a cliff. The stiff passenger cell and the automatic rescue alarming system have been his life savior. He was knocked unconscious, was somewhere lost in the bushes off a cliff. He would have freezed to death without your car's safety net. For that, also, thank you Akio.

If there’s a road going version of this car, probably will have a paddleshifting dua clutch like other supercars, and imo stickshift makes more sense in a sports car

One of the Super GT teams announced they are going to use it in the future, and (here's the ironic kicker), Rookie Racing will run a Mercedes-AMG GT3 alongside a Chinese-based company for Super Taikyu.

it's pretty much impossible to have side exhaust now due to safety regulations.
The side profile gives me strong AMG-GT vibes. A brilliant design nonetheless. I'll be looking forward to seeing it at the podium on Le Mans.

新車に限らずヘリテージパーツ部門を作ったり、トヨタ博物館に他社の車を展示してしかもすべて自走可能にしていたり、GAZOOの愛車広場とか見るあたり、車に興味を持ってもらうところに関しては本当に手広くやっていると思う。

U know this has potential to be the new Lexus LFA because it's beautiful and the engine bay in the front is big enough to fit a V10 motor 🤔

Looks like a redesigned Z4. If a road version actually hits the consumer market, hopefully it'll be a new chassis all together. And if not, can we at least get a dang manual version!?!
If there’s a road going version of this car, probably will have a paddleshifting dua clutch like other supercars, and imo stickshift makes more sense in a sports car

@@DuBstep115 - North America sales say that the current Supra outsold the A80 quite handily (the old model suffered in sales due to Japan's wobbly economy at the time and people who dismissed it at first).

The thing here regarding the GR GT3 is that Toyota is getting serious about the category. One of the Super GT teams announced they are going to use it in the future, and (here's the ironic kicker), Rookie Racing will run a Mercedes-AMG GT3 alongside a Chinese-based company for Super Taikyu.
The car looks like a NSX in the front, LFA in the back, and AMG GT in the sides. Sick.
