Wow... You said great story? xD You are one of the better video game reviewers to actually compliment Super Mario Galaxy's story and not wine and moan about the voice acting over and over again. I salute you sir! :3
One thing games lack these days: CHARM. I loved nothing more than looking at the tropical colours of the beaches, the setting sun by the seaside resort, the tiki torches in the festival, night-time mushroom village. Charm, character, colour, scenary and music are all put to one side in favour of graphics, gore and online multiplayer. I wish I had a time machine :(
I don't consider people who hate this game true mario fans. People should appreciate this game for what it was in its own rights, I hate how people always bitch about this game because its different to super mario 64 which is also an awesome game, but I wish sunshine got more love.
Yep. Even though I'm not nostalgic for this game, I can still positively say that Fludd is one of the most creative and awesome ideas ever to come out of a Mario game!!
@FreQuenczy I don't have a gamecube but I have a wii. There are a bunch of gamecube games i wanna buy and im gonna get a gamecube controller for them. But do u need memory cards to save gamecube games on wii?
THIS is why I STILL have my old gamecube, even if its obsolete to my Wii, I just became too attached to it through games like this, along with LOZ WW, Melee, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Paper mario TTYD, Mario Kart double dash, and all the others I can't think of off the top of my head. Back when Nintendo had it all!
XD different colored yoshis do have different purposes... ( but not needed.) When you spray enemies with yoshi juice, they turn into a platform, and depending on the color, it will either go up, move left/right, or stay still. :Di think Purple juice makes the platfrom go left or right, pink, up, and orange makes it stay in one place. Great Reveiw! :D and i agree on the high score
@TheGoldenMarioBro I know I said on my first file I started a new 1 and got 121 stars aswell But really how are the controls linear ? the levels are linear ?
Actually Yoshi's color does serve a very slight purpose. When you shoot enemies with Yoshi's juice they turn into platforms. Depending on which color Yoshi is the platforms will behave differently. Pink platforms go straight up, purple ones go horizontally, and yellow ones are stationary I believe.
My complaint in this game is just how many shine sprites are depending on you finding the blue coins. They should've made a couple of more worlds to explore for those, or if the free space on the disc was the problem, they could've just added some more objectives to already existing worlds. Collecting coins gives the impression that they ran out of ideas. Still, a very good and criminally underrated game.
The different colour yoshis have a purpose, when an enemy is sprayed with juice, they'll turn into a platform. The platform will move depending on what colour yoshi is. Purple yoshi will make the platform move forward in the direction the enemy was facing, pink yoshi will make the platform rise, and and if you are an orange yoshi the platform won't move.
@SonikSami Depth perception? Interesting. I've always thought it was pretty self-explanatory. And I also showed a little clip of how/why it was low. Oh well. I'll keep your feedback in mind.
I don't care what anyone will say about this game because I looooooooove this game! The first time I played it was during summer break so for me the game has the pure essence of summer. You just can't beat summer.
Don't know. Brawl was the closest to a 5/5 just because of it's total awesomeness. But I'm saving the 5/5 score for that one special game that totally deserves the best score! Maybe Metroid Other M? We'll see! :)
I know, but I still think it gives away too much of the story. I like to explain games just enough to give viewers that feeling of "I want to play this now!" without telling the whole story, or enough of it to give it away.
Id have to say this game is fun, challenging, beautiful looking and has great music. The only gripe I have are the controls that sometimes get unpredictable and the camera that sometimes causes problems.
This game is really underrated. Many people say Mario 64 was better. But in a way, this is sort of better than 64. I love the Ricco Harbor theme/ Its really catchy! And this game is pretty hard. Very challenging game. Its up there with Galaxy on the list of hardest games i've ever played.
Well I don't count Luigi's stars, but really? There's 121? I'd like to know where that last one is because when I got 120 of them, the game said since you collected all the stars, you get a special prize a.k.a Luigi, or something along those lines.
Hmm, that's a hard question to answer, because everyone is different and have different levels of gaming skills. When I first played it, I wouldn't necessarily say it was hard, but more challenging in knowing what to do. Some of the levels can be confusing on what the main objective is at times. Some levels, I will admit, can be pretty difficult, but I'd say there's only a few of those, and they appear a lot later in the game. Overall, I'd say go for it. You'll never know unless you try! :)
As usual, I think you did great reviewing this amazing game. However, do take note that you didn't say anything about the voice-acting in the game, which I thought was okay for the most part, and I think you should have put a bit more detail into your explanation into the depth perception. But still, good work.
Actually, the color of the Yoshi does serve a purpose. When an enemy is hit with juice like in that Rico Harbor level, the enemy turns into a block, and depending on the color Yoshi, it will determine which direction the block will move in.
yoshi's different colors affect enemies. when yoshi barfs on a monster it turns into a block, the color of the yoshi determines how the block shall move when mario jumps on it.
there is a purpose to the different colored Yoshi's, when they spray enemies and turn them into platforms what direction the platform moves in depends on the color of the Yoshi
What perplexes me about this game is the ability to use water as a weapon. If the same applied to real life, what would all of the wars on Earth look like? Rainbows and sunshine?
THE YOSHI COLOR DOES HAVE A PURPOSE if you spray an enemy with juice it turns into a platform, the platform behaves differently depending on the color of the yoshi who created the platform.
Then why have a 5/5 score? I agree there will never be a 100% perfect game without any flaws, no matter how minute, but I'm still waiting for that one game that will be the closest to it. And after watching the trailer from E3, and my love for Metroid games, it might have a shot, but this is all just a prediction.
I don't get why the people that give you the shine sprites with 10 blue coins are even in this game. I mean that they are part of the town so wouldn't they just give the island or someone the shine sprites
I love Mario Sunshine but I think it's a bit odd that you didn't mention any of the frustrating camera angles and clipping glitches, which can really screw things up every once in a while.
My computer is relatively new so you'd think it would be decent, I've tried following tutorials but I guess they were dated because the options in that tutorial weren't the same as the ones in my dolphin emulator
This is what I hate about people who hate Mario games because they say they aren't different. They say Mario always does the same thing in the games he is in but when it's about Super Mario Sunshine, they say it's crap just because they aren't used to this style of gameplay. Nintendo were trying to make their games different but everyone decided the Gamecube was terrible and not even try it. People missed out and this is why people complain. Gamecube beats PS2 and Xbox anyday anytime anywhere.
you are wrong about yoshis colors not affecting him. if yoshi sprays an enemy, it will turn into a platform he and mario are able to stand on. the platform will move after a second or two and the platform dissapears about a minute later
@BluePhoenix458 Why would they need to do anything? It's called "completing the game". None of the stars after the 70th one did nothing in Super Mario 64, but I collected them all anyway before the final Bowser battle.
While I do agree with the review, there's a small detail I will have to disagree with. Hotel Mario wasn't a bad game. It's just stereotyped as a bad game. I've played it and enjoyed the heck out of it. Yeah it's got cheesy cut scenes and bad voice acting but the overall experience isn't really bad at all. Pretty sure it's just a ban wagon effect where everyone hears it's bad so they just assume so without playing it.Otherwise, great review.
id love to live on isle delfino. That would be a rocking holiday. Hey i just had a thought.. maybe isle delfino is actually real and not just a game? Cool.
I've watched almost all your reviews and now I found first downside. Mario's Picross was listed as a fail :( In my opinion it's really awesome little puzzle game which is second most played game on my 3DS. And according to eShop, there's more people who thinks the same way as it's score is 4,5 stars out of 5. But now that being said. You have really good reviews and I'm going to watch all the ones I've missed. I'm not really sure about which I've watched and which not.
Wow... You said great story? xD You are one of the better video game reviewers to actually compliment Super Mario Galaxy's story and not wine and moan about the voice acting over and over again. I salute you sir! :3

"None of the bosses are pushovers"? Ha! That's a good one!
man its 2013 and i still love this game!
Same here! I think it gives the game a more theatrical feel, and ultimately makes the cutscenes and conversations more enjoyable
Since I own it, it will definitely be reviewed eventually, I promise. :)
i love how you review gamecube games as well as wii ones as i only have a gamecube and realyy apreciate knowong the best games to buy
This is why I like this guy because he knows what good games are like mario sunshine and he knows sonic is awesome much better than /home/gligar 13
dude you make really nice reviews. ive seen a lot of them it was watching your review of F-Zero that made me buy the game.
@FreQuenczy
I don't have a gamecube but I have a wii. There are a bunch of gamecube games i wanna buy and im gonna get a gamecube controller for them. But do u need memory cards to save gamecube games on wii?

Back when Nintendo had it all!
This is probably the most unique Mario game in terms of story, gameplay, sound, etc.
And y'know what? I LOVE it.
Ah i remember this such a good game :D
XD different colored yoshis do have different purposes... ( but not needed.)
When you spray enemies with yoshi juice, they turn into a platform, and depending on the color, it will either go up, move left/right, or stay still. :Di think Purple juice makes the platfrom go left or right, pink, up, and orange makes it stay in one place.
Great Reveiw! :D and i agree on the high score
Nice to see someone to give this love it deserves. People like to bash this one the most for some reason.
i like the fully voiced conversation thing!
amazing game and amazing review =) keep it up and i will definitely subscribe!
You're reviews are very nice and well thought out:) how do you film your gameplay?
Wait for gamecube games you play on the wii do you need a gamecubr controller or can you pllay with the wiimote and nunchaku?
Really surprised so many Mario fans hate this game. This is honestly the most original of all the games I've played.
Your the only super mario sunshine reviewer who did'nt complain about the "bad" voice acting!!!!!!!!!!!
@FreQuenczy do you need a memory card to save the data from the wii??
@TheGoldenMarioBro I know I said on my first file I started a new 1 and got 121 stars aswell But really how are the controls linear ? the levels are linear ?
OMG I just realized I've been subscribed to you for almost 5 years.

Hey Frequency have you ever played super mario 64 or even the remake for the ds.
@FreQuenczy Can you use the Classic Controller?
good review and i subscribed. i like your vids
My complaint in this game is just how many shine sprites are depending on you finding the blue coins. Well, that's good enough for me! I now need to buy a GCN controller and memory card ^_^
ur reveiws rock dude also luv intro tune
The different colour yoshis have a purpose, when an enemy is sprayed with juice, they'll turn into a platform. The platform will move depending on what colour yoshi is. Super Mario Sunshine is by far one of the best Mario games. It really is. I think it should be 5/5. Its fun and addicting.
@Sano4000 I don't use a camera. I use a Dazzle Capture Card. I have two videos about it if you'd like to check them out.
im addicted to ur intro music
I don't care what anyone will say about this game because I looooooooove this game! The first time I played it was during summer break so for me the game has the pure essence of summer. You just can't beat summer.
Nice review. Very professional-like. Subbed.
Great story?
And do you think Super Paper Mario's story's great? I personally think it is.
@plungeo What about Metroid Prime 1 & 2?
The color of yoshi influences the type of platforms created when juice hits an enemy
Don't know. Brawl was the closest to a 5/5 just because of it's total awesomeness. But I'm saving the 5/5 score for that one special game that totally deserves the best score! Maybe Metroid Other M? We'll see! :)
If I had to say what mario games were my favorite I would say super Mario sunshine is my number 1 favorite Mario game and super mario 64 is my second.
Thx! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
@TheMLVideos Lol, I wasn't trying at all.
This game is really underrated. Many people say Mario 64 was better. But in a way, this is sort of better than 64. I love the Ricco Harbor theme/ Its really catchy! And this game is pretty hard. Very challenging game. Its up there with Galaxy on the list of hardest games i've ever played.
Nice picture at 1:13!
When you say gamecube and wii when did it come on wii?
whats the name of the song at the very first seconds?
FreQuenczy = epic nostalgia moments
Well I don't count Luigi's stars, but really? There's 121? I'd like to know where that last one is because when I got 120 of them, the game said since you collected all the stars, you get a special prize a.k.a Luigi, or something along those lines.

i love ur intro!!
Could you possibly review Luigi's Mansion for the GC? It's a pretty good game in my opinion.
As usual, I think you did great reviewing this amazing game.
However, do take note that you didn't say anything about the voice-acting in the game, which I thought was okay for the most part, and I think you should have put a bit more detail into your explanation into the depth perception.
But still, good work.
@Sano4000 Thx! Well I just took my favorite song then added in clips of past reviews of mine and synced them with the beat.
Actually, the color of the Yoshi does serve a purpose. When an enemy is hit with juice like in that Rico Harbor level, the enemy turns into a block, and depending on the color Yoshi, it will determine which direction the block will move in.
I agree the voice acting could have been better, but I didn't find fault with the camera. Thx for the comment though. :)
Can you pretty please review TMNT 2006 for GameCube?
yoshi's different colors affect enemies. when yoshi barfs on a monster it turns into a block, the color of the yoshi determines how the block shall move when mario jumps on it.
What's the first game in your intro called?
Super Smash Bros Brawl (Wii)
Great review!
@MyAwesome420 Gamecube games need to be played with a Gamecube controller, regardless if they are played on the Wii or Gamecube.
there is a purpose to the different colored Yoshi's, when they spray enemies and turn them into platforms what direction the platform moves in depends on the color of the Yoshi
What perplexes me about this game is the ability to use water as a weapon. If the same applied to real life, what would all of the wars on Earth look like? Rainbows and sunshine?
i always liked to think that the reason the Yoshi's dissolve in water is because they are a special type of Yoshi found only on Isl Delfino
Do they make sunshine for the wii
@FreQuenczy Do you like this or Super Mario 64 more?
I don't get why the people that give you the shine sprites with 10 blue coins are even in this game. I mean that they are part of the town so wouldn't they just give the island or someone the shine sprites
that game was made a while ago but is always fun to come back to play :)
I love Mario Sunshine but I think it's a bit odd that you didn't mention any of the frustrating camera angles and clipping glitches, which can really screw things up every once in a while.
As a punishment Mario has to clean the whole island with the help of his Mexian flood.... I JUST HAD TO :D
damn i remember how long i waited for this game to come out
But I said "Mario" games, not "Nintendo produced Mario" games.
My computer is relatively new so you'd think it would be decent, I've tried following tutorials but I guess they were dated because the options in that tutorial weren't the same as the ones in my dolphin emulator
Are you going to put GameCube requests back now that GameCube games can play on the Wii U?
When did that happen!
This is probably the only mario with voice acting. :D
It requires a decent PC. I don't know how good yours is obviously but I always used tutorials on youtube to get the most out of it.
When I first played this as a kid, I thought "Super Mario Moonshine" was an awesome title... until I found out what moonshine was lol
have you ever gave a game a 5 out of 5?
This is what I hate about people who hate Mario games because they say they aren't different. They say Mario always does the same thing in the games he is in but when it's about Super Mario Sunshine, they say it's crap just because they aren't used to this style of gameplay.

How did you feel when Nintendo Power said this game was the worst "Mario Game" of all?
this was my first gamecube game and I liked a lot mainly because it was unique
Depth Perception... THAT is why this game needs to be remade for the 3DS!
Are u gonna start reviewing Wii U games now?
I
While I do agree with the review, there's a small detail I will have to disagree with. Hotel Mario wasn't a bad game. It's just stereotyped as a bad game. I don't know. I AM aware of the voice acting though. I really did mean full sentences. Not text.
do you have any games with a 5/5 score
A good review in only 4 minutes! Nice work!
The Challenging Difficulty?
id love to live on isle delfino. That would be a rocking holiday.
Hey i just had a thought.. maybe isle delfino is actually real and not just a game? Cool.
I've watched almost all your reviews and now I found first downside. Mario's Picross was listed as a fail :(

But now that being said. You have really good reviews and I'm going to watch all the ones I've missed. I'm not really sure about which I've watched and which not.
