Thank you for this! Have you ever seen any real dr martens with DMs on the insole? Or any that have the padded ankles that have cracks on the inside? The things you noted are all things I've looked for but I'm so thrown off by these 2 pairs that I have. I give people your page when they ask questions about where I got my info.

they made updated versions. Only signs of fakes now are the logos on the side, which is the most obvious thank god, but it sucks that they’re getting better and better at faking them, everything from the souls, to the stitching and even the letters now
Fakes I just received were very good: no spelling mistakes. It's onl;y because I also have a brand new pair delivered 2 days before that I was able to spot the fakes. They are good fakes but not good enough...

Just at the end of the vid - 2 piece tongue - boot tongue should all be one piece of leather, not 2 pieces sown together 1/2 way up. Leather colour inside the boot should be natural - if its industrial grey or coloured means the leather is strong indication of re constituted leather. DM has out sourced to Thailand/Laos - " budget/ volume seller" or "Fashion Spec" ie 12-24 month Fashion statement life span that will be discarded for what ever the "fashion" is next. Army friend brought some 1460's from a DM supplier, hes a guys that knows bootcare, spit n shine parade finish & they still wrinkle cracked, delaminated, leaked within 2 years solely from night out & shopping use. Like alot of things in this world now - The quality, workmanship, core true purpose, made to last etc have gone.
what if it does not have an inside tag and outsole? the heel strap also says _ina BLLe instead of the classical one, the blank is the letter i cant see, what does it mean?
Since Doc Martens, doesn't deploy any authenticity elements on the shoelace holes, then it's easier for the fakes to replicate them. The only element of difference is the robustness in my opinion. Original shoelace holes are robust and properly fixed to the boot main body, while fakes might have anomalies on this.
I have some bm industials. And a pair of combs. And just bought a pair of 1460 blue shiners. All real but they are made in asia now. Docs have not been made in england for some time now. My industrial are going on 3 years now and still good. But will never be as nice or well built as the england made ones. Dont want fakes just don't buy from wish or online. Go to a physical store and buy them.
Paul, you CAN still buy "Made in England" Docs! Not every style, but the DM website will show you what is available that is made in England. Right now in the US it seems the website is sold out of lots of styles. Of course they cost a bit more than the rest now, if you want the ones from England. Enjoy, be well, Peace.

The shine is also different. The original one has an almost matte like and subtle soft shine. The fake one looks weird and the shine looks harsh.

Made in Lao Pur. Thailand makes the more economical ones for Doc Martens. I believe that they are NOT as good as British made.
