00:30 Unit coal train destined SWEPCO (Southwest Electric Power) emerging from a foggy day in Shreveport. Note classification lights on lead unit.
00:40 F7's in regular service for TUGCO (Texas Utilities Generating) tied up each day at the Sulphur Springs, TX depot
00:45 F7's for TUGCO service, lead unit 4064 with classification lights on.
    00:50 KCS depot, Vivian, LA - unfortunately out-of-service 1982
00:55 KCS caboose clears Vivian, LA
01:00 L&A Daingerfield, TX depot - already out-of-service in 1982. A beautiful and unusual design.
01:05 L&A Daingerfield, TX depot - close up of KCS herald detail and sad state semaphore blades removed indicating no signals from this agency.
01:10 L&A Hughes Springs, TX agency - This slide was not labeled, so I can't be positive, but I believe I am correct. KCS fans out there, please help me if you recognize this structure.
01:15 KCS caboose 381 - location unkown, but on the L&A. KCS had an extremely interesting mix of hybrid cabooses. 381 is as tall as a boxcar (interesting rear bulkhead like a boxcar) with circular window configuration.
01:20 KCS old marker MP 236 - slide is not labeled. Could this be Watts, OK? I have no idea.
01:25 KCS GOB Shreveport - one last look and farewell.
The KCS survived the era of railroad merger-aquisitions and thrived as an independent railroad making strategic acquisitions of small regional lines and the Canal Zone railroad only to be purchased by the CP in 2022.
8mm silent film clip and 35mm slides and prints are from a personal collection.

0:30 is at Blanchard, LA holding to go around the wye to the Texas Sub. 1:10 is the Hughes Springs yard office. Pretty confident 1:15 is at Sulphur Springs in the house track. 1:20 MP236 is Watts, OK.
