The knife defence is not good.
Wait a minute. All of Kelly McCann's and Lee Morrison's technical methods are tremendously practical and effective. However, I just think Fairbairns chin jab was taken a little out of context. McCann's chin jab is great when there's a little distance. However, the reason for the curved traditional WWII upward chin jab is because you're pulling your opponents lower back towards you to stabalize him at extreme close range with one hand and chin jabbing with the other hand. You can strike as hard as you can and snap his neck in actual self preservation combat but as long as you pull his lower back continuously toward your own body his aggregate body mass isn't going to fly away. Then after a nice hard chin jab follow his face a few inches sorry I meant centimeters downward and reattach your palm to his face and RAISE YOUR ELBOW TO A HORIZONTAL PLANE AND PUSH HIS FACE DOWNWARD TO THE GROUND WITH YOUR PALM FOREARM AND ELBOW AT A 90 DEGREE ANGLE RELATIVE TO HIS CHIN/FACE AS YOU TWIST YOUR BODY TORSO AND TAKE HIS BACK DIRECTLY TO THE GROUND DOWNWARD. Don't get me wrong I've always learned tremendously from both Kelly McCann and Lee Morrison. However, since I'm going to London in October for vacation or holiday as you say I felt it necessary to defend the old Captain Fairbairn. It's sad that after Fairbairn provided so much service to his Queen and country I bet a lot of school kids in England don't even know his name. Don't get it twisted I love the United States, am a US military veteran, and drive on the right hand side. But even though there might not always be an England there will always be a Wimbledon, a Queen, and the legacy of Colonel Bill Fairbairn!

I recommend buying some of their stuff to anyone from housewives to service men. Lee Morrison's instructional material exceeded my expectation, especially if you've sworn allegiance to the queen.
These two are part of a handful of people, world wide (!), who are in the eye of the pyramid when it comes to their game.
McCann and Morisson are so explosive with their techniques. It's a real pleasure to see them work. I have no doubt that their methods are very effective.

Great seminar my only problem is always the mindset. To get the point the mindset to hit someone many times in the face in face of the consequenses. Maybe he comes back after the strike with some other guys. Maybe he has a gun or a knife….i dont know. In a fight I always have to get the mindset of rage, then there is now place for fear in my mind.
What he did against the knife, with the hit-stop and simultaneous eye attack....it works against an uncooperative attacker. All this is good stuff. The explosive movement is mostly what makes it so.

I’d honestly rather get into a fight with Lee or Kelly than a “professional” fighter simply because it would be over so fast I’d probably feel very little pain.
Till I woke up that is.

It all starts with the foot work, subtle but so hard to master. This guy may be 'mature' but God he is fast.

Kelly McCann for sure is a top instructor. But...so far, the one and only Combatives instructor that put out *for free* knife defense for the YT people to learn and possibly save themselves is Lee Morrison. Others don't dare to go there (knife defense) or put out total bullshit. So, respect to Lee. I'm not taking away anything away from Kelly, just stating the facts. Don't hate me for being honest.
lee morrison shows a parade that is used in krav maga, it does not seem at all applicable to be able to save from one with a knife
Did you watch Lee's DVD "On the Sharp edge"? Show me a better way for knife defense if you got one, and I'm serious. I would like to know.

You should watch it. Very realistic stuff. E.g. by defending you'll probably get cut, but you don't stop. More of a mental than a physical thing. Cheers mate

Is there any video of these guys trying this stuff on a non compliant, highly skilled BJJ guy that is upfront in his dislike for them?
I don’t think this is for style vs style challenge matches. If you know anything about Kelly McCann, if he knew up front that a BJJ guy wanted to jump him, he would probably just shoot the guy.
Kelly McCann has probably legitimately killed people. He’s not going to be rolling around on the ground to prove the validity of his “style”.

Take note of the positioning of the pad. This is much safer for the recipient. I've injured a couple of people's shoulders throwing bitch slaps (Palm hooks for you sensitive types) on the pad.

It's the wrong way to conduct a self-protection seminar. The right way is with simulated scenarios - when the instructors suit up in body armor and accost the students. In this manner, students experience realistic emotional responses to danger and can use realistic force against their 'attackers'.
Invest in a gopd sound
At 8-10 is probably the best example of how to deal with a knife attack. Trying to grab the wrist and disarm the guy like they show you in all the usual BS videos is to risky, keeping your distance, getting away as quick as possible everytime.

Kelly McCann another guy that will bore you to death before of showing you. I love simplistic BS, he an Lee love to make noise like "flamenco dancers" with their feet when they are showing you a basic move, along with some grunt. Pay attention an laugh. Don't forget to telegraph your moves like they do and tell your adversary not to punch back!! like all their demostrations.
Lee Morrison is one trick
pony. He always "teaches" the same 2 attacks. Don't waste your money.
Lee is very weak, he can't box, he can't wrestle. His only credentials are that
he work as a "doorman" give a me break. It is not the same as dealing
with prison inmates. Lee Morrison is a charlatan, a phony. Having tattoos all
over doesn't qualify this guy as tough. The simplistic idea of Lee is that you
hit first and the other person doesn't hit you back. In reality be prepared to
get hit back and his simplistic approach crumbles.
