Frank Capra is such a humble and down to earth man😊❤ really loved his movies

Uh, not that humble. He took credit for writing his movies, so much so that his leading writer broke ties with him after "Meet John Doe."

That was a great speech by Frank Capra. How interesting that he remembered his dad's comment about the Statue of Liberty as Capra made most of his great films while working for Columbia Pictures, whose logo had a look-alike Statue of Liberty commonly referred to as the Columbia Torch Lady.

It caused quite a stir in the U.S.A.when the movie goers saw Clark Gabel not wearing an undershirt. The companies were in an uproar to counteract men not buying undershirts."It Happened One Night" created that stirring uproar!

At the Height of his career, the great Jimmy Stewart risked it all and enlisted in the Air Force during WWII, flying bomber missions over Germany at great risk. NO actor would ever think of doing that today. He retired from the military a Brigadier General and continued making great movies when he came back to the US. That's why he always gets standing ovation wherever he went.

Some of you think Johin Wayne should win this award? You're delusional. Apart from the fact that he's quoted as hating Blacks, Native Americans, Hippies, Anti Viet Invasion Protestors, and 'Socialists' - he couldn't hold a candle to, or even shine the shoes of, one of the greatest artists the world has ever known - Frank Capra.

That award has no value at all. It was not given to John Wayne, Charlie Chaplin, Robert Mitchum, Charlton Heston, Burt Lancaster, Cary Grant, Sylvester Stallone, Olivia de Havilland, Jean Simmons, Maureen O'Hara, Sally Field and look at the names of the recipients so far, Steve Martin, Nicole Kidman, Hanoi Jane... gosh

Orson Wells, Alfred Hitchcock, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Cruise, Glenn Close and James McAvoy have never won a competitive Oscar. Does that mean the Academy Award has no value at all? To some, maybe, but In the end, it’s the WORK that matters most because that’s what people will remember.

@@harley2704 you're right. I won't be worried anymore. To me will always be John Wayne, Clark Gable, Bing Crosby the greatest of them all. No matter if anybody else gave them or not awards. Thanks.
