The master of suspense there will never be another his films will always be the greatest in the range of suspense R I P alfred Hitchcock the master of suspense
It brings tears to my eyes to see all those star being old (Inggrid, Jimmy, Cary, Henry, etc). I know its a natural thing but still 😭😭 sorry I cant describe this feelings into words
This is HEAVILY edited. Some of the best film clips have been cut due to copyright Im sure. I got a VHS recording of this actual broadcast with an order I placed in the early 90's. I transferred it to digital and tresure it. I remember watching this the night it was broadcast and talking about it in school the next day in art class. Long live Hitchcock.
This ceremony is a treasure. Hitch deserved it. He had that dry humor till the end. And Cary Grant’s wonderful smile, and Jimmy’s unassuming charm made this night so special.👏
@@Nicole-wj7yq yes , im not sure why but put it off as didnt know what was about, and didnt have much praise as other movies, then i saw and is actually one of the best and loved it!
I watched a documentary about the film industry in the latest 60s and 70s. The industry was rife with cocaine use everywhere. One of the actors mentioned this tribute to Mr. Hitchcock, and reported that while people in the auditorium saluted Hitch, men filled the bathroom stalls doing cocaine. Interesting time.
Apparently everyonen was coked out of their minds in this apart from the older guys. All of Hwood was at this gig and according to a few bios the toilets were full of people doing coke
Thank goodness these accolades were presented to Hitchcock by all the wonderful actors who have since died. A grand testimonial to a revered director.
Wow.😢😢
don't let Hitchcock's scowl fool you - he was loving every second of this
59:58 to 1:00 Lew Wasserman. This is a classic Hollywood archive. So many legends.
So Marvelous. SPECTACULAR. Such love and respect for Hitch. I was teary eyed. The ultimate complete salute. REMARKABLE SHOW!!!! UNSURPASSED.
Glad Hitchcock was finally honored as it had been overdue for several years.
What a wonderful time capsule!
When Hitch and Ingrid hugged...❤!
Deeply emotional and moving, indeed.

I have the actual broadcast. It was 69 minutes. So this is not far off. The actual evening was much longer but none of that was ever telecast.
Both of your should upload the original one. I’d love to see it not so edited!

I remember watching this I was 7
He gave a voice to the voiceless . His films speak for themselves . Alfred Hitchcock Thank you .
Love Ingrid and Hitch.
He is so brilliant.
That was amazing!
49:30 - Hitch saying “Who is he” when Sean Connery speaks.
I rather watch a Hitchcock film than any if these new crappy horror/slasher films
Four Hitchcock blondes that are still alive. Kim Novak. Tippi Hedern, Eva Marie Saint and my favorite, Vera Miles
He almost smiled...almost.
Great .. so Great !
Excellent.
Bravo ✨👏🏻
Why is not there Kim Novak or Grace Kelly?
grace was Princess Grace by then
Sidney Lumet, Francis Ford Coppola, and Federico Fellini should have received this award.
Anymore please
"Who's that?" he says...
ITS ME HITCH
Where is Grace Kelly?
I wonder where that key is today..
John Houseman speaks with the same cadence as Bette Davis.

There is a typo on the 50:47 of the video "psycho" written "pyscho" !!
Interesting that Cary was chosen to sit next to Hitch - but Jimmy was seated on the other side of Alma. You could assume that Cary was the favourite.
Cary Grant was his favorite actor..
❤Sean Connery was so cute
Mr. Cary Grant’s salute is deleted. Here is that scene. ruclips.net/video/LazJJK7AxVQ/видео.html

Does the man ever smile?
Alfred Hitchcock actors were cattle
The greatest director to me was always a tossup between Hitchcock and Kubrick.
They are of 2 racial descent that do not replicate !
Does he and alma even know where they are.
