I feel like The Originals should have been the original show instead of The Vampire Diaries. Only downfall to that is not being introduced to Klaus as a top villain in TVD.

@@JuliaJiggs you can't expect everyone to recognize a character from another show if they only seen one episode of it. I may be wrong but she's also changed a lot from tvd to the originals as well.
@@sarahkolakowski2012 I just said I was sad, you didn’t have to make a big deal about it lmao. And if you want to go into specifics, he also saw the last episode, one which she looks exactly the same and even received a letter from Klaus so their connection to each other was already established. But that’s a tiny detail and I never said I expected everyone to recognize her.

I was just saying that there are a lot of characters in tvd and she actually has aged some in the face since then so maybe that's why. Still not everyone is going to remember every detail unless they have photographic memory. The things that probably stood out at the last episode was damon, Stefan, elena, and katherine.

The originals is so much better than TVD, it didn’t deal with petty teenage drama; at the center it was about the unbreakable bond of family especially between siblings, and how family is not simply whom who share blood with ❤️
I agree! But let's not act like TVD didn't have amazing storylines/dark themes. It gave us many iconic moments!

Hayley (the mother) died in the last season, it’s kind of a long story but she basically killed herself and a villain at the time to save them by throwing them both in the sun where they burnt alive 👍🏻

Elijah chose to die because he feels responsible for the death of hopes mother who also was the love of his life. He doesn’t feel like he has anything to do or to achieve in his life without klaus, trying to make him come to redemption, or Hayley (hopes mum), to build a life with.

This series is actually worth the full watch. There isn't a bad season. It's one of those rare spinoffs that really outshines the original. By miles, to me. It's better written, better acted, and just more interesting.

definitely! i haven't seen any other show that tops it , it is a 10/10 in acting, storyline and everything. i never reached a point where i was tired of watching unlike other shows
The thing about Marcel is that technically, he was never the villain. Klaus raised Marcel from when Marcel was a child, turned him into a vampire but then left him thinking his father had killed him. Through out the show, they had betrayed Marcel countless of times. Also Kol (the guy you were questioning) was revealed in The Vampire Diaries and Freya was revealed as a secret sister they didn't know about in season 2 of the Originals. Also, yes there was a time jump in season 4.
They knew about Freya. They just believed she died before they were born as she was the oldest of Mikaelson siblings. Then in s2 they learnt that she actually was taken by their mothers sister, a powerful witch, one of the villains in the originals.
Its not necessarily that they “left” him they thought he died in the fire, and he literally begged to be turned lmao i love marcel. But he was a bad person just like almost everyone else in this show

The originals are so powerfull because of their strenght. The older you get, the stronger you are, and they are the oldest vampires existing, so they are very strong. They can also compell other vampires, which normal vampires cant do. And they also cant be killed, because they have to be staked through the heart with the white oak (wood) steak, but they burned down the tree so its very complicated to kill them now. So they are super strong, can do things normal vampires cant do and they cant die. No wonder everyone fears them, i would too.

I dont understand why nobody's talking about hayley and Elijah's relationship. They fell in love through out the show and she died and that why Elijah wants to die because he see no future without her I'm just mad because we didn't get to see their happy ending because that was a big storyline carried out all the season in the show
Elijah loved Hayley with all his heart, but Klaus was HIS life, his reason of living. He never loved anyone more than Klaus, he loved him the same way Klaus loved hope. If you think Elijah would chose Hayley over Klaus you are wrong. Even with Hayley alive he would died with Klaus, a Elijah surviving his brother would break his character ans would be a tragedy. Sorry for mistakes I'm French.

In addition the mikaelson family betrays itself 1000 times yet at the end of the day it is a trademark, Klaus does not make things easy even if his paranoia is sometimes legitimate. Whatever Elijah says he's dragged to klaus and he loved him more than anything he even said that he loved him the way klaus loved hope and that the redemption of klaus is his reason of life.
exactly! the writers really stressed the whole "dance in the next life" thing, and we didn't even get to see it.
I wish he would’ve watched the episode of where Elijah gets him memories back of hayley and Hayley’s death so he can understand how she died and how much he loved her

"I died for no f*cking reason" the words of Daniel (Elijah) himself😅😅 I like this scene/moment but it's true if you look at the whole picture it doesn't really make sense that he dies
They probably killed them because they wanted a clean slate for Legacies. If Klaus or Elijah was alive, they would have to appear on the show, and I think they didn't want to.

His death wasn't needed, he just felt like his life had no meaning without Klaus so he died with his brother. But there is no life or death reason behind it. I don't even know if it makes sense but anyway😅 I agree with you
@@triskelxx3941 If you really look at it, there was a “life or death” reason behind it. Trust me, when the finale first aired, I didn't like the decision to kill them both at all. I thought it should've been Elijah that made the sacrifice because Hope needed her father. Looking back, it not only makes sense because they seem to want Hope to have a similar story to Elena, but the two of them have been by each other's side forever.
In season 5, Klaus was distraught because he felt like he lost his best friend; his “lodestar” is what he said. There have been times when they've expressed that they can't do this without the other (season 3 finale comes to mind).
Also, Elijah lost Hayley. It makes sense that he would want to die by his brother's side - his last reason for living. I can't imagine what he would be like without the two closest people in his life.

hayley(the mother) died bc she lost her werewolf side and became just a vampire. hayley didnt have a daylight ring. she sacrificed herself by throwing herself and the villain in the sun so yeah. also hope rly doesnt like elijah, since it was also kinda his fault that hayley died since he didnt have any memories of hayley or his family, he stopped klaus when he was trying to save hayley.
It was also Hope’s fault why her mom died, because if she hadn’t knocked her mom out then Hayley wouldn’t have gotten kidnapped
hayley was a hybrid after Hope was born and she didn’t need a daylight ring to be in the sun, she took Greta’s ring off and took her into the sun when Greta obv catches on fire it also gets hayley on fire

Freya was the long lost sister, Kol however was their brother that died in the vampire diaries and came back in season 2 of the originals

A hybrid is in simple terms a werewolf and a vampire but it’s a lot more complicated. The originals are the very first vampires to ever be created and they were created by their witch mother because of a werewolf problem. It’s all very long and sometimes confusing.

Elijah fell in love with Hayley throughout the show but then had his memories erased when he and his siblings got the dark magic put in them and had to run to the 4 corners of the earth forever because couldn't stay away from his family and so he didn't remember Hayley when she was in danger and she ended up dying to save her daughter cause Elijah didn't save her and that's why he was down to kill himself because he lost the love of his life

Also Hayley and Elijah were in love during most of the show, even if Hayley married and another werewolf at some point for the benefices of her werewolves pack. She was the love of his life and when she died (partially because of him) a part of died too and he never forgave himself. I think that's why he wanted to die with Klaus as he no longer had any purpose in life. I also think he would stayed for Hope he she had asks him to but they were not in the bests of terms after Hayley's death, she literally had a better relationship with everyone else.
The originals are literally the original vampires (hybrid in Klaus's case, and immortal witch in Freya's case). There are 7 siblings, 6 of them are introduced in the Vampire Diaries tv show those are Finn, Elijah, Klaus, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik. Henrik dies to a werewolf, and so their father makes the mother turn all of the remaining children and himself into vampires.
Klaus kills his mother after he finds out that Mikael isn't his father like his other siblings and his father is actually a werewolf and after his mother suppressed his werewolf side. Skip 1000 years to modern day and Klaus gets rids of his curse and becomes half vampire half werewolf again, kills his stepfather Mikael, and his mother after she returns from the dead; and people who hate the originals kills two of the other brother Finn and Kol (this isn't the last time they die, all of this happened in vampire diaries and they do return in originals but it's to long to talk about).
In the last we see of the family altogether in vampire diaries is that Klaus and Haley slept together and she went to New Orleans.
Obviously you seen the pilot of originals. Marcel and rebekah was together 200 years ago but Mikael found them and killed most of new Orleans people and got the originals running away, leaving Marcel behind. Marcel and rebekah become a will they won't they couple throughout originals.
Pretty much Finn, Kol, the originals mother Ester and their father Mikael come back from the dead end of season 1/beginning of season 2 to deal with the original family. This is the season that Freya the oldest siblings of the originals gets introduced, as she was taken away by the originals aunt as payment to allow their mother to be fertile again, which led to Freya becoming an immortal witch trapped by her aunts will until she's free of her completely by end of season 2.
There's a 5 year time jump between season 3 and 4, and then another like 6 year time jump between season 4 and 5 which makes hope the age she is qt the end of the show.
Klaus in a way gets possessed by this old witch begin that wants to kill hope because she's so powerful, and so in the end he sacrifices himself to keep his daughter safe. Haley the mother dies earlier in the final season also saving her daughter from a vampire by throwing herself and that said vampire into the sunlight and burning them both to death.
This made elijah upset as Haley was the love of his life and he believes that it was his fault that she died and that's why he killed himself with his brother at the end.
@Rafidah Rafique well he was asking questions about characters that were part of the family that he didn't know about because he hadn't watched TVD or the other episodes of originals. And I think people forget that the true pilot of the originals is actually an episode of TVD that had a lot more scenes to explain some things than the newer version released just for the originals tv series DVD

The Originals has changed the entire Vampire Diaries landscape when they were first introduced in Season 2. IMHO, after they left for the spinoff in Season 4, TVD just became less interesting. Also, their brother Kol was introduced during TVD. Only their sister Freya was introduced in The Originals.
Kol was actually introduced in Vampire Diaries! Freya was the long lost sister big reveal !
The originals are the first vampires in the world created by their mother the original witch. Niklaus was born a and werewolf and once turned a vampire he killed for the first time and finally got his werewolf powers making him a hybrid that can kill vampires with his bit and heal them from werewolf bites as well. The originals are 1,000 years and when the older they are the stronger they become. The originals can only be killed by white oak that made them vampires. There are 7 siblings Freya, Finn, Elijah, Niklaus, Kol, Rebekah, and henrik. Freya is not a vampire but is a witch. She was taken by their aunt to control her power. If I witch is turned into a vampire they loose the power to do magic. Henrik and Finn are dead. Hope is a tribrid so she is part witch, wolf and vampire. Kol was in one of the coffins in the beginning with one of the daggers that he stabbed Elijah with. The mom Hayley killed her self to save Hope. The originals dad was abusive to klaus when he grew up for some reason but when he found outlet he wasn’t his kid he killed his real dad.
Spoiler: Hope’s mom was kidnapped after Hope put her to sleep in a coffin to lure her father (Klaus) back to town. While in the coffin she was kidnapped. When Hope eventually found her Hayley (Hope’s mom) had a spell done to take her wolf side away to save Hope. The villain lady (who hates any creature that is not pure vampire) showed up. Hayley and Hope try to escape but it was daytime Hayley now being only a vampire with no daylight ring couldn’t leave and also couldn’t over power the lady. Klaus tried to save them. But Elijah had his memory wiped and didn’t know who his family was. He stopped Klaus. So Hayley sacrificed herself to kill the villain lady and save Hope.
I love that Kol was technically in the first episode (in the coffin.) and he didn't notice lol
The younger brother was actually the one in the coffin on the first episode hahaha and in The Vampire Diaries he died, but with some magic, he, his mom, and their older brother hi-jacked witch bodies and be resurrected. Then he died again and was resurrected back with his original body by his girlfriend LOL
The kid is so much alive that she has their own spinn off and it's 3 season long so far

Marcel was never a villain. Klaus turned him when he was young and raised him (with Elijah kind of). In a way, making Marcel his first child? ... and brother-in-law...
He was kinda a villain in the first season
Time to explain what happened to Hope's mother! bear with me. So I don't remember exactly what happened but when Hope was a young child she got some kind of dark spirit stuck in her and was basically tearing her apart. so Rebekah, Klaus, Elijah and Kol (the youngest brother) all took a part of the dark spirit into themselves and they couldn't be near each other because it would just make spirit worse and possibly kill them, cause havoc or harm Hope. To avoid this, because Elijah's family means so much to him, he had his memories erased of basically all his family and things like that because he knew he would want to check up on his family, especially Klaus or Hope. He ends up moving to Paris, finding a girl and all of that. This girl happens to be the daughter of a somewhat evil person who tries to hurt or kill Hope and her mother or yadda yadda i dont exactly remember but it was rough. She also successfully kidnapped them by having her son take them to a house and her mother got worried so she was captured too. Klaus comes to help his family. Elijah and the girl he loves came to help her family. Klaus goes through the door to help Hayley (hopes mom), Elijah stabs him with a wooden stake, Hayley thought he was there for her, he wasnt. she realizes that. Forgot to mention that the lady that was trying to kill her was vampire, she was a hybrid at this time as well. they both had their rings off and the door was open so to save her child she rolled them both out of the door and they burnt in the sunlight. Later on, Elijah gets his memory back, this absolutely tears him apart, to the point where I don't think he was ever the same again until this last episode. Hayley and Elijah actually ended up loving each other a lot so him knowing he was somewhat responsible for the death of the one he loved was difficult for him. He said something in I think a fight about how over thousands (or hundreds) of years he always only gotten love 3 times. Once being before they were turned to vampires, the other being when they were helping make New Orleans and the third being Hayley.

Elijah actually fell in love with Hope's mother. He was also sort of the reason she was killed so it hits a lot harder because he decided to die because he felt too guilty and he had nothing to live for anymore.
Now, you NEED to watch all the show. This and the vampire diaries. The originals has introduced in TVD and it’s amazing!

What do you mean you didn't watch this series? Best series in the world😍. I love watching and seeing everyone's evolution. Hayley (Hope's mother) sacrificed herself for hope a few episodes ago, and in this episode her father and uncle sacrificed themselves catching the ´´sickness´´ that hope had. Anyway, hope was practically alone, unfortunately🤧
The irony when he said about Kol that he's long lost brother that the thought was dead, and the it cut to Freya😂
Kol is the youngest brother and he already apppeared in the vampire diaries but he died and then in The Originals was brought back to life.
Freya is the oldest sibling and every one thought she was dead so there was big reveal about her
Your question on their youngest brother Kol: no, he was introduced in Vampire Diaries but he was also killed in TVD as well. That young witch you saw from the first episode in this video actually helped bring him back from the dead and they end up together. (He played a different character for a little while as a witch in this show as well).
Question on Haley’s death: yea that’s a complex answer. Elijah was sort of unfortunately part of her cause of death. He had his memory erased at one point and when she was being attacked, he didn’t recognize her and she ran into the sun and was burned to death. (Someone extracted the werewolf gene out of her, so without it, the sun burned her to death since she was no longer a hybrid but just a vampire with no daylight ring).
I was smiling at the always and forever mantra because I absolutely have always loved that sentiment about their family. And then you brought up Noah Centineo. I forgot they use that phrase in that movie too. 😆🤦♀️
The mom, Hayley, dies with vampire blood in her system, so she turns into a hybrid. She later gets killed off permanently by throwing herself (and a vampire enemy) into the sun to burn. She did this to save Hope.
the originals are the first and oldest vampires ever. which means they're the most powerful creatures in the world.
Elijah isn’t just killing himself for klaus. Hopes mum died early on in the first season and Elijah loved her. He was also the one who killed her after having his brain washed and being manipulated meaning he hated himself and hope hated him. He killed himself for klaus and to be with Hayley again. Hope blames him for her mother’s death so didn’t really need him anyway.

The fact that I teared up during this video. The ending really was so heartbreakingly beautiful.
The mother (hayley) died in season 1 but got turned into a hybrid but her final death was in season 5. She got kidnapped and forced to remove her werewolf side to save her daughter, which made her a vampire without a daylight ring, and then she made a sacrifice and took down a villan with her and they both burned to death.
Hope is a tribrid ( combination of vampire, witch , and werewolf but her vampire side isn’t activated yet)
Hayley( the mom) died in the last season to protect Hope (long story short). She burned until she was just ashes.

Caroline was the girl Klaus fell in love with on Vampire Diaries the Original show but he was a villain so she couldn't be with him. She had to stick with her friends. She was the character he cared about on the Original show. The entire Mikaelson Family except Freya was on TVD first
Honestly I recommend you watch the entire thing even if you know the ending, it’s still worth it

The brother, Kol, was introduced in The Vampire Diaries and killed off in that show. Davina, the teenage witch in the first episodes brings him back to life. He has a small arc in both shows. He comes back as a human/witch tho. Their mother was a witch so their family is a line of witches. So that why Hope and Freya are witches too.

I balled my eyes out watching the last episode again with you! The last episode really illustrates the kind of love the family has for each other. You don't even have to watch any other episodes to know that. Especially the last scene where elijah wanted to die with his brother because he believes there's nothing left for him to do on earth once klaus is gone & he's at peace with dying alongside his brother. WOW amazing show really
Summary of The Originals:
The originals are powerful b/c they are the Original Vampires, very difficult to kill and Klaus is special b/c he's the original hybrid (the product of their mother's affair w/ a werewolf).
Their Mother was a very powerful witch so they're all part-witch as well (but they lost their abilities to practice magic when they were turned into vampires).
Hope: Klaus and Hayley's daughter is a Tribrid (the granddaughter of a powerful witch, the daughter of Klaus (hybrid) and Hayley (Crescent Werewolf).
There were SEVEN original children, all born witches but some were more powerful than others (Freya, Finn, and Kol). Freya was taken as a child and raised apart from her siblings, spending the majority of her life in a magical slumber. Henrik was killed as a child and isn't really featured in the series, except to explain the impetus for their mother turning them into vampires--they're the ORIGINAL vampires b/c their mother used dark magic to make her children immortal after the pain of losing Henrik---she didn't expect them to turn into "monsters" who would feed on human blood (hence why their father ended up hunting them--the original hunter).
Finn, Elijah, Klaus, Rebekha, and Kol were all turned into vampires.
All but Klaus were susceptible to being forced into a slumber by a dagger to the heart, and Klaus abused that for years, frequently daggering his siblings when he wasn't happy with them.
Finn, forever at odds w/ his siblings spent 1K years in a box and showed up periodically through the Vampire Diaries and then The Originals but he was ultimately killed for good in the course of the series.
Kol appeared on The Vampire Diaries as well, but was murdered by Jeremy Gilbert. Kill an Original, and you kill every vampire sired by their line. Jeremy had to kill vampires to slowly kill-by-kill reveal a map to the vampire "cure" and Elena decided that killing Kol would be the quickest way to do that--kill him and you'd be killing thousands of vampires.
But being part-witch Kol's spirit went to the witch purgatory and their mother, Ester, brought herself as well as Finn and Kol back to life.
Hayley (the mom): has an EPIC love story with Elijah. Whatever feelings of affection Klaus has for her are never acted on, he eventually comes to respect Hayley and Elijah's bond once he realizes that Elijah is not going to replace him in Hope's life.
Hope doesn't age fast (this isn't Twilight) but there *are* pretty significant time jumps. The first one is 5 years, the second is 7 or 8 years. Largely facilitated by storyline points that required the characters to separate for stretches of time.
Hayley died b/c of a racist group that saw Hybrids and Tribrids as a threat to pure vampirism. She sacrificed herself before Klaus could save her.
First of all, the original vampires could only be killed by a 1000-year-old white oak stake and not by cutting their head off.
Second, Hayley stepped into the sun without a daylight ring and burned to death.

Freya is their older sister. She was taken away from the mom (who is an original witch) before the other children were turned into vampires. Freya is just a witch.
Kol is one of the original vampire siblings. He was introduced in the Vampire Diaries.
Klaus, as they said is a hybrid his mother had an affair with a werewolf, and when Michal(the siblings dad) found out he killed Klaus's real father before Klaus had met him. Later in season 1 or 2 klaus's real father gets brought back by the mother but soon after Klaus killed him to protect his daughter.
You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this.
1. The Originals/Original Vampires are the oldest vampires in history and the progenitors/sires of the entire Vampire species. They consist of the Mikaelson siblings-Finn (the slef-loathing dutiful son), Elijah (the noble), Niklaus/Klaus (the tempermental hybrid), Kol (the wildest one), and Rebekah (the romantic)-and their father Mikael (the vampire who hunts vampires). An Original Vampire is superior-MUCH stronger, faster, kenner senses-to all other members of the Vampire Species, even those close to them in age. The Originals also have the unique ability to compel other vampires. Due to their age, power, and influence, the Originals are likened to vampire royalty and stuff of legends (to the blissfully ignorant). Klaus was the big bad of season 2 and the primary antagonist of season 3. He and his siblings (mainly Elijah & Rebekah; Kol was just a recurring guest) later became secondary main characters, but then got their own spin-off series which started during season 5 episode 20 of TVD.
2. An Original cannot be killed/destroyed by other traditional vampire weaknesses-sunlight, fire/combustion/explosions, normal wooden stakes, decapitation (their heads CANNOT be physically severed from their bodies), heart extraction, werewolf bites, etc. However, an Original can be temporarily incapacitated by snapping their necks, or put in a deathlike sleep when impaled by a silver dagger (used by human hands) that has been dipped into the ashes of a specific white oak tree. Klaus is immune to the silver dagger due to his hybrid nature. But if that dagger is removed, they'll eventually wake up angry and hungry.
3. The only surefire way to permanently kill an Original is with a white oak stake or white oak bullet (which is made from a very specific white oak tree used in the ritual that created them) to the heart. They burned it down and the tree's only sapling was destroyed to build a bridge, so white oak is hard to come by. Another weakness was later introduced via a super werewolf bite (laced with the venom comprised of white oak and a combination of 9 different kinds of werewolf venom-from each of the original 9 werewolf packs), which comes from a monster called a Beast.
4. All vampires belonged to a sireline (bloodline), that stretches back to the specific Original that started said bloodline. If the Original who started a sireline dies, then all vampires within that sireline (i.e. all vampires that they turned, and the vampires that those vampires turned, and the ones that those vampires turned, and so on) will die (without failure) within the hour.
5. Freya Mikaelson was the firstborn child and daughter of Esther and Mikael. She was briefly mentioned a few times (not by name) in TVD and was stated to have died in the "Old World" (Europe around 975-ish A.D.) from a disease at the age of 5. This turned out to be a lie made by Esther who wanted to cover up the fact that she bargained Freya away to Dahlia (Esther's older, and MUCH more powerful/terrifying older sister). Freya reappeared very much alive 1000 years later as a grown woman (thanks to a conditional immortality spell) and a powerful witch on the run from Dahlia. She joins the main cast Vikinghe second half of the Original season 2 onwards.
6. Mikael was a wealthy viking leader/warrior and the husband of the witch Esther. After losing Freya, Mikael and Esther (who was pregnant with Elijah) took their remaining child Finn and fled Europe to the New World (America centuries before Columbus discovered it; around 975-980 AD) to start a new life. A year after arriving in the New World, Esther had a secret affair with a Werewolf Alpha, resulting in Klaus's birth (Esther claimed Klaus was Mikael's). As Klaus grew, it was clear that he was much more soft-hearted compared to Finn (the first boy/2nd child) and Elijah (the 2nd boy and strongest son). Mikael was a prideful viking, with a violent temper, so he refused to have a weak son. This resulted in years of physically abusive training, tortuous beatings, and emotional torment as a way to "toughen" Klaus up. The remaining 3 children (Kol, Rebekah, Henrik in that order) were born during these times. They were all terrifed of Mikael, and never stopped him from abusing Klaus.
7. Around 999 A.D., Mikael and Esther's youngest son Henrik (the 7th child; he was between 10-13) was killed after he snuck off (with Klaus) to observe the werewolves during a full moon. In their despair, Mikael convinced Esther to make their children powerful and immortal as a form of protection. Mikael then willingly used himself to test the ritual, becoming the first Original. After that succeeded, they repeated the process on their remaining 5 children (they were each between 25 and 17 at this point). However, shortly after transitioning, Klaus went into a bloodlust frenzy that resulted in him killing someone, triggering his werewolf gene. This caused Mikael to learn the truth about Klaus' paternity. Klaus told his siblings that Mikael did it, and then Mikael then took it upon himself to become the Ultimate Hunter to kill Klaus and everyone that gets in his way. Mikael was even willing to kill innocents, burning down towns/cities, and even hunting his children (the other Originals) for trying to protect their half-brother. They were on the run for over 1000 years.
8. Marcel was an unnamed boy born into slavery in 1810 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Klaus saved the boy from his slave master/father (the governor) and adopted him, naming him Marcellus, after Mars the Roman God of War. Klaus and Elijah taught him about the classics-art, music, history, language, politics, culture, etc-and he often practiced fencing with Rebekah (who he has a crush on). At 25, Marcel nearly died from a wound, but Klaus turned him into a vampire to save his life. Klaus and Marcel's relationship started going sour because of Klaus's controlling nature, dismissive helicopter parental attitude, his adamant refusal to allow Marcel and Rebekah to be together (Marcel's crush blossomed into love as an adult. Initially, she rebuffed him, but he was charmingly persistent). Mikael eventually found Klaus in 1919, and captured Marcel, and burned New Orleans's French Quarter to the ground just to spite Klaus (who built up the city to what it was). This caused the Mikaelson siblings to flee and they assumed Marcel died, hence why Klaus was surprised to hear his name in episode 1 (which took place in 2011).
9. Marcel's desire for power and need to be his own man, were at odds with his need for validation from his father-figure (Klaus), resulting in a tumultuous relationship/rivalry with Klaus. To make matters more complicated, Klaus was envious of the fact that his protégé/son surpassed him as a ruler, effectively managing New Orleans as its "new King" (from behind-the-scenes), and had the earnest the loyalty and respect of the vampires and fear of the witches. This became more complicated after Marcel drank a serum that allowed him to transition into being an "Upgraded" (with werewolf venom) Orignal Vampire known as the Beast. Consequently, Marcel's desire for power and Klaus's approval were also a source of conflict with Rebekah, which resulted in an on-again/off-again romance that lasted for 4 1/2 seasons.
10. Hayley became transitioned from being a werewolf into a Hybrid (werewolf-vampire) at the end of season 1. There was a 5-year skip in season 4, and then another 7 year time skip for season 5. During season 5, Hope made a series of dumb teenage decisions because she missed her dad and wanted to bring him home (Klaus left to protect her from the season 4 villain, which tore their family apart. Because of the time skip, years went by without them seeing each other). Furthermore, Hope is a miracle baby and a natural-born Tribrid-part werewolf, witch, and original vampire-capable of producing more vampire-werewolf hybrids, all of which are sired to her (instinctively loyal with an overwhelming desire to please their maker). This caused Hope to get accidentally caught up in the shenanigans of a cult of vampire purists, who wanted to get rid of all hybrids. Hayley sacrificed herself to save Hope and died during season 5.

Haley became a hybrid after Hope was born but she was killed defending Hope after a spell stripped her of her werewolf side so she died as a vampire, but again I still recommend that you watch the whole series because it’s awesome.

They are called The Originals because they were the first vampires and every vampire descends from them. They are the strongest vampires because they are the oldest, they are over a 1000 years old.
A Hybrid is someone who is half vampire half werewolf, Klaus is the original hybrid because he was the first of his kind. He is even stronger than his family because he's a hybrid.
Hayley gets pregnant with Klaus's baby in season 4 of the vampires diaries. Klaus is the first and only vampire who can get someone pregnant and he can only do this because he broke the curse that his mother put on him. They can hear the baby's heartbeat, that's how they know she is pregnant.
The Originals can only be killed by a white oak stake because it was the tree used the spell that created the originals. The white oak stake is very rare.
Klaus's blood can cure a vampire if they are bitten by a werewolf/hybrid, if they don't drink his blood they will die a slow and painful death. If an Original gets bitten, they do not need Klaus's blood because they will not die, they will just suffer for a few days.
When an Original is daggered, they are asleep/unconscious until the dagger is removed. Klaus has daggered his siblings a lot of his life, Finn was daggered for 900 years. The daggers do not work in Klaus because he is a hybrid.
Klaus doesn't love Hayley, Elijah does. Hayley does get killed when her baby is born but she comes back as a hybrid because she had the baby's vampire blood in her system when she died. Hayley dies in season 5 when she burned in the sun to save her daughter after deactivating her werewolf side.
Hope (klaus and hayley's child) is a tribrid - part witch, part werewolf and part vampire but she hasn't activated her vampire side yet.
Kol is killed in the vampire diaries but he was bought back to life by their mother, the original witch.
Freya is the long lost sister, they all thought she died a 1000 years ago but she is taken by their aunt.

Most of these characters were the villans in season 2&3 of the vampire diaries.
Few things; The Original vampires are the most powerful vampires because they were the first to ever exist. They created all vampires in the world as they descend from their blood lines. Klaus is a hybrid because his mother cheated and Klaus was the result of that relationship. Their father has the most hatred out for Klaus because he believes that werewolves are an abomination. Freya is their sister, a powerful witch. Kol the "mystery long lost brother" was also revealed later on in the first few seasons (although originally in The Vampire Diaries). Hayley died by sacrificing herself to save her daughter as there was a huge story line where Elijah lost all his memories and had to re-find them and reconnect with his family. Elijah & Hayley were in love, Klaus & Hayley remained friends and parented Hope together. Marcel was technically Klaus' adoptive son, he raised him from him being a child. The reason Elijah ended up taking his life at the end of the show alongside Klaus is because he feels as though he deserves it because him loosing his memories played a part in her death and he wants to see her again in the afterlife. It's a whole complicated story, but It's such an amazing show and I totally recommend giving it a watch even if you've already seen the ending episode. 😂 There's so many awesome twists & turns.
In fact, all the original vampires were already featured there in "The Vampire Diaries", all the siblings and their father and mother, much of their story had already been told. Klaus has been a major villain in vampire diaries for about three seasons or so, and the other originals played a pretty big role there as well. The girl's mother became pregnant there on TVD, when she met Klaus, so this is the whole story for the spin-off.
The only sister that appeared in TO was Freya, and Marcel was like a son to Klaus, so this is why he wasn't killed forever.
