Oh no 😭 Klaus saved Marcel and adopted him. He raised him and turned him into a vampire. Their relationship is complicated, but very interesting. Klaus is one of the best characters on any show. He has such an interesting arc.
The relationship between Hayley and Klaus (hopes parents) is strictly platonic. They were a one night stand and she ended up falling in love with his brother.
originals was my favourite series before i watched supernatural, and this was by far actually one of my favourite episodes - basically klaus, the 1000 year old hybrid vampire sacrificed himself in that final scene where he was talking for ages, because his family was bitten by marcel who drank something that made him more powerful than the mikaelsons, and his bite was fatal to them. the mikaelsons's older sister, isn't a vampire but a witch (who can live for many years) so she was using magic to render them unconscious (hence the scene where you saw them collapse on the chairs around the table towards the end) that dagger marcel put into klaus is a dagger specifically designed to inflict pain, torture and suffering of the highest standards, and since that dagger wouldn't kill klaus bc he's immortal, he would have live with that pain. this was really noble of klaus to do bc he and his family have so much history and klaus always seemed.. like he 'never cared' in that sense about them. (he daggered them with a special blade mutliple times which made them die temporary until you pulled the blade out) and he did it, and i quote 'i did it for your own good!' lol so basically klaus took on that pain and suffering so that Hayley can have enough time to find a cure for the rest of his family. time skip to season 4 ~ its been five years, klaus is still trapped in a dungeon, the blade only recently been pulled out but he's so still inflicted with the pain that he can't really do anything to help himself without help. Hope (klaus and hayley's daughter) is now 5 years old, who has been living with Hayley, whilst also Hayley has been finding it so hard to find a cure, and now she has (with many ups and downs) but she found it, the rest of the mikaelsons are awake. they set out to rescue klaus from the clutches of marcel. but marcel intervenes, and with very very good persuasion from klaus, klaus tells marcel to let him and his family go, and they would never ever step foot in New Orleans again (which was really hard for them to do because they built the town from scratch hundreds of years ago) so now klaus and his family are free from marcel (are they tho?👀) and now klaus can try and get to know his young daughter... all well and happy right? WRONG- this is where a whole other really cool plotline comes into place.. im so sorry for the really really long explanation! once i started i couldn't stop-
The comments are so interesting. As much as I enjoyed their performances on this show, it’s comical how people are trying to act like the Mikaelsons aren’t horrible lmao. The Originals had no business setting the show where they did with this historical background if they were going to treat the Black characters like this. Klaus saved Marcel & was supposed to be his father only to turn around & treat him like garbage when it suited him but I guess that doesn’t matter. I wonder why lmao
Someone with no idea about the show, randomly watching an episode, shouldn't in any way talk about what does and doesn't make sense from the best character in the show.
Basically Hayley and Klaus (Baby Hopes parents) had a one night stand. She magically got pregnant. She fell In love with Klaus's brother but also got married to another guy before hand. Hope grows up to recognise that her Uncle Elijah and Mom are a thing amd it's really cute
Lol dw I was with Marcel on this too 😂 Klaus and his sibling technically are the protagonists of the show but they did Marcel so dirty this season and his anger was very justified.
To be honest, you are completely correct with the slaveowner vibes. Klaus did save Marcel when he was young, and we are meant to see it as a father-son relationship, but yes; slaveowner vibes big time. Especially with how Klaus and his family treats Marcel with such contempt. Wanting him to know his place.
Klaus wasn’t a slave owner he saved marcel FROM a slave owner. He raised him like a son and the reason Elijah killed marcel was cause there was visions of the person who takes the serum ruining their family and they didn’t know marcel already took it so he killed him. It seems like Elijah and Klaus had no sympathy but they did.
@@notthemovie the serum basically gives the person extreme vampire abilities and gives them a powerful werewolf-venom bite that’s been engineered by science. They’re called upgraded Original vampires engineered by magic and science. Their bite can kill even an original and their physical strength exceeds originals (usually strength depends on age). Only 2 serums were made, they found a way to kill the other one in episode 20 of s3, so just before this. He was called Lucien, Freya mentions him in this episode I believe
Legacies especially (and Vampire Dairies) have amazing soundtracks. Legacies’ music gives me goosebumps it’s so good. They pick amazing songs for most of it. I don’t remember enough of The Originals to give a good review of the music Also an amazing song from a Legacies ep is called Hide and Seek by Klergy. It’s alluring and sexy but in a slightly dangerous way lol (edit: might not be a good song if you have trauma. Wanted to put that out there. Some days it triggers me really badly still and I have to turn it off :) / :(
💀💀 well they are all bad cuz the originals may have done bad or worse things but so did those other vampires willingly u know? Coming down to it we can’t determine a side but it’s very interesting when it comes to someone else’s POV
Basically, after Klaus (and his siblings) were abused by their Viking father growing up and forced by their parents to become vampires as a way of "protecting" them, and then Klaus found out that he was the result of an affair his mother had, so he killed her in rage, and then their father spent centuries hunting them... Klaus became emboldened by his own strength while also quite paranoid (especially as the result of a century he spent cursed with maddening pain). In the 1800s several of the family settled in New Orleans, which they tried to make their city, as you described near the end (and they effectively did for a time). Klaus happened across a young boy one day who had been enslaved and was being abused by his own white father, and Klaus felt empathy as the son of an abusive father so took the boy to raise, giving him a name and nominally making him part of the family. But, he was the lone human child growing up surrounded by a seriously messed up family of brutal vampires. And Klaus, while not treating him as a slave, is abusive to his entire family throughout history- as Rebekah said, he routinely retired his siblings throughout the centuries (using a weapon that could not be used on him) for whatever he perceived as betrayals of himself. When Elijah started to take more care of Marcel, Klaus became bored and resentful and jealous and Marcel was suffering as a result, so Elijah ruined his own relationship with Marcel to push Klaus back to the bad-but-still-better version of himself he was when focusing on Marcel (Elijah prioritized Klaus' potential redemption over Marcel's happiness, though arguably it was the only way to keep Marcel safe). But eventually Marcel grew up and wanted his own independence (and fell in love with his pseudo-aunt Rebekah so resented Klaus for his abuse of her). Marcel and Rebekah drew the siblings' father to town hoping he would make Klaus run away, but in the process got separated and Rebekah thought for a decade (before Klaus retired her to a coffin again for 90 years) that Marcel had died because of their plotting together. A full century after they were run out of New Orleans, leaving Marcel feeling abandoned and still angry though by now he's made it into his own domain, they come back into town and Klaus is resentful of all that Marcel has accomplished, surpassing Klaus and being loved the way Klaus always wanted (but never achieved because no one could enjoy his controlling nature). Because of enemies Marcel made, Klaus is blackmailed into working against Marcel if he wants to see his biological daughter born, and of course Klaus' own pride means he wants to take back the city, so they're at cross-purposes. At times in the three intervening seasons their purposes do align, and their relationship starts to heal... until Elijah and the other sister Freya are largely responsible for the death of Marcel's own foster-daughter, Davina (they don't kill her themselves, but their prioritization of something else means they prevent him from saving her), and Elijah fearing retribution kills Marcel (unbeknownst to him, Marcel has drunk a serum that will make him more powerful and an unto-here-unforeseen threat if he dies with it in his system... so Elijah creates their own worst enemy).
If u still doing the vampire diaries universe reaction and pls watch season 3 finally of legacies I am my father daughter it’s amazing on of the best episodes
I legitimately can’t believe people thought this was the best episode. Granted the episode are trash after the first season but still. But at this point Marcel and Vincent are the only good characters in the show. The Mikealson’s are a shell of the people they once were on TVD.
Witches, Vampires, werewolves, and spirits exist in this world. Freya Mikaelson is a thousand and twenty-something-year-old witch. The other Mikaelson siblings are Original Vampires-a specific class of powerful vampires; they are the most powerful and the progenitors of the entire vampire species. Originals cannot be killed by traditional. Vampire weaknesses: fire, beheading/decapitation, heart extraction, sunlight/UV light, wooden stakes/bullets. They're strong enough to tear apart brick walls, punch through buildings, can outrun point-blank explosions, and are fast enough to catch bullets. They also have the unique ability to compel (mind control based hypnosis) other vampires. Klaus is a byproduct of his mother's secret affair with a werewolf Alpha, thus is the Original Hybrid. He has all of the Power of an Original and a werewolf alpha; his bites are lethal to all non-Original Vampires. His blood is the cure for a werewolf bite. And like all werewolves, he is immune to silver and therefore immune to the Silver daggers dipped in white oak (in this universe, werewolves aren't with the silver, they started that myth to fool vampires and humans). Due to being a literal loophole, Klaus as the Original Hybrid is also one of only two vampires in the world that isn’t sterile. Hayley was a werewolf but later transitioned into a Hybrid. Only werewolves can become hybrids (because in this series, werewolves are bloodline traits. It cannot be passed on through bites), but it requires a specific mystical process that was inaccessible for over 1000 years. She had a one-night stand with Klaus and got pregnant. This was surprising because Vampires are normally sterile (due to being undead), but Klaus was a loophole due to being the Original Hybrid. Hayley later met and fell for Elijah. Hope is a Tribrid- a hybrid composer 3 supernatural creatures (specifically 1/4 Original Vampire, 1/2 Werewolf from both her parents, and 1/4 witch since all of the Mikaelson children were from a witch bloodline before becoming The Originals). She is a literal miracle baby, though there are several prophecies about her wiping out all of the witches in NOLA. Her blood can be used to create more hybrids, and all hybrids created from her blood are _sired_ to her. (The sirebond refers to an effect wherein, a vampire feels fiercely loyal to their maker and has the overwhelming desire to please their maker. It is extremely rare among vampires, Werewolf-hybrids get sired on the spot). Witches are the "servants of nature" and the architects of the supernatural. They are classified as human subspecies but still tested as a supernatural race. They can generally manipulate the elements, and the weather, have minor psychic powers (though some can read minds and predict the future down to the last minute detail-enough to make a fortune in the stock market), manipulate souls, etc. They universally have the power to cast spells (some small like predicting birth to as a large as creating an alternate dimension stuck in a time loop, or creating a new dimension of purgatory in the afterlife).
