Backstory to this video: Their wives kicked them out for spending too much money on cameras. They are now living out of their cars, arguing all day long about cameras in a parking lot. For money, they are going to hold a sign at passersby: "Get your portrait taken on a Hasselblad medium format camera: $1 per megapixel."
For 2025 can we do some more photography adventures? I love watching you photograph different scenes and taking us along for the ride. It was my favorite part of DigitalRev and would love to see more of it here! Whether you were photographing an old lady with a trolly or a beautiful sunrise, it was all fun! I am sure so many can agree with that!
The production Rollei 35AF still requires force to fire the shutter. Big flaw is the lack of filter threads, which additionally results in an easy to lose lens cap. Priced too high, making it only for people who want to support Gary/the MiNT team for making a new film camera in 2024. Hard to recommend it over a Nikon 35ti, Ricoh GR1, Contax TVS, Olympus XA.
The 17 is genuinely better than the 35AF which is fragile as hell. Pentax have actually impressed me with this little 17. They just work great and are far more solid than the 35AF that I've returned because it was a toy. Mine did have a stiff shutter button, unreliable metering system and weird bugs in the exposure compensation. Could have been an excellent camera, but not for 800 quid. If you want an old school looking camera. Just get the original, at least the Te or Se which are more reliable with less plastic gears. Also, the 17 allow you to use filter that are reasonably easy to get where the 35AF does not.
The 17 is an excellent point-and-shoot, ideal for a diary/snapshot/everyday carry (fits in a regular pocket) with the option to choose which ISO to use. It produces excellent results. Lok simply doesn't get it; he's too immersed in the digital world, and honestly, his attitude towards 17 irritates me 😅 He's already made a video on the topic. I haven't had the chance to use the 35AF, but I've read quite a few complaints about its build quality.
If Sony wanted to release a new and exciting camera it would be one optimized for still photography and without the video tax. (Some of us never shoot video.)
Oh boy here we go. There is no video tax. They aren't going to charge you less for engineering out video features. Here is what ya do. Buy the a7rv and never use it for video. Voila. Your exciting stills focused camera. Or go buy a Hassy and stop whining.
Video functionality is baked in whether you need it or not. Might as well have it and not need it. If you don't want video at all just get a Hasselblad.
Catering to Generation Alpha lingo, the generation that began the year you two were throwing Canon DSLRs down flights of stairs in Hong Kong. What a ~vibe~
The Q3 43 came out this year, but I think they are only talking about gear they've actually used. There's a lot of lenses that were launched this year and they didn't even mention any of them.
in 2025 i would like to see Ricoh GR4 with viewfinder(optional), built in flash, flipup screen (to use it on waist level), more battery life, and 4k 60p video
suggestion - Each bokeh bro gives explanation of favorite five cameras, favorite five lenses, favorite five accessories. Any time frame, any price range. Maybe three videos, because nobody wants to watch and hour long youtube video,
The most pretentious thing about the Hasselblad is that you can't shoot portrait with it! That's such a massively stupid oversight. And before anyone says 'just crop', keep in mind that that's what s**t photographers (with overly expensive equipment) say!
GoPro is lacking behind big time. They stopped innovating and have big competition with the DJI and insta 360. They have to tap into another market to stay ahead
I cameras are "bodies" but they are just tools, not cars, not people. I wish people would buy more practical and not more looking good expensive pieces of gear.
tbh, I had both the pentax 17 and rollei 35af, the latter's build quality is just bad, unusable kinda bad. Interesting concept and nice lens, really bad build quality. Pentax 17 is still cheap feeling, but at least works like a new camera should be.

Let me guess, you’re a Nikon shooter? 😂
In 2025 you guys should do a collab with Alamby. Bring her back for old times sake.
That would be cool. Nice idea for the 1 million subscribers episode coming up soon!
make it happen please!!!!
Happy new year! Thanks for all the years of great content, going back to DigitalRev :)
Huge, empty car park and they decide to pull up next to you guys XD enjoyed the vid! Happy New Year to you both!
6:03 “I don’t know what skibididi is” You and me both pal.
Burst out laughing. Relatable
No one knows what it means but it's provocative
No one ones what it is
Nissan cube is the spray-painted D7000 of cars.
Hahaha. It is. I'm impressed that they bothered to mask Kai, so the number plate is blurred but his feet aren't. Details. 🙂
😂
thats skibidi of cars :b
I don't understand going to the effort of blurring the plate. Just take it off or cover it up.
@ how is removing a number plate with a screwdriver then reinstalling it easier than using software to blur it out ?

I laughed so hard hearing Lok say "I don't know what skippity means!"
Just in time for the new year, Lok and Kai ranking off in a parking lot!
I remember watching you somewhere a little more that 10 years ago, where you inspired me to buy my Canon 650D, which I still use :D
Such a cosy New Year video! And gotta love how the nostalgia-inducing DigitalRev music is interspersed throughout 😊
Just two respectable gentleman recording themselves showing off their gear and engaged in a rank battle in an empty car park
Thanks for another year of great videos gents! Wishing you a happy and healthy 2025, and look forward to what the new year will bring!

At the top for being from HK, I’m afraid.
It also has many other problems, tbh I think they should swapp their rating for the Pentax17 and the 35AF.
Did they use a vintage Rollei 35, they have a very hard release button
0:28 "expert ranker" - the look on Lok's face. LMAO!
I thought he said,”expert wanker”!!! 😂
I can't believe i've just re-discovered Kai & Lok in 2025 after not seeing Digital Rev videos for almost a decade!

You need to show a close-up view of the final rankings.
If Sony wanted to release a new and exciting camera it would be one optimized for still photography and without the video tax. (Some of us never shoot video.)
Yeah, nobody even watches video any more.
Oh boy here we go.

That's not how the real industry works! The material cost is just a small portion of total cost nowadays.
@@POVwithRC A7CR* for even more compactness

I really like the color grading in this video, really serious mood for a casual conversation
Catering to Generation Alpha lingo, the generation that began the year you two were throwing Canon DSLRs down flights of stairs in Hong Kong.
What a ~vibe~
Not sure blurring out the licence helps. There can't be that many white Nissan Cubes in the UK?😅
need to see more of it looks like it has a kit and wheels
Man you should do a watches and/or sneakers collection video!
"a1 II uses the same sensor as the a1 so it's a firmware update" has me crying lol
I’m just happy for another video
These car boot videos are the best. Great way to ring in the new year🎉
most pro ranking ever 👍👍
you guys need to do a car review for photography purposes starting with your vehicles
thanks boys!!! love the flat cap!!
Wait, did I miss the Leica Q3? Where did that fit in? Wow, I'm really surprised considering Kai loves his Leicas. Happy New Year!
Came out in 2023.
The Q3 43 came out this year, but I think they are only talking about gear they've actually used. There's a lot of lenses that were launched this year and they didn't even mention any of them.
Happy new year guys!
Kai doesn't want to lose future sponsors he's trying to keep all cameras above Skibidi 😄
in 2025 i would like to see Ricoh GR4 with viewfinder(optional), built in flash, flipup screen (to use it on waist level), more battery life, and 4k 60p video
Happy New Year... bruhs ❤
I love your choice of cars.
Happy New Year lads!
Appreciate the Nikon love and criticism! 👍🏾
Can't beat the banter between these two. Skibidi
I love the fact that you drive a cube! We have one too!
You need to make a video about the Canon EF 8-15 again.
Love your Nissan Cube!
Canon should have put EVF in the c80 IMHO
Lok&Kai Happy New Year and Good health always🎉
Happy New Year! ✌️
Leica SL body looks 3D printed.
Why when I look at second hand Bellingham bags on fleebay are the straps always absolutely wrecked? It’s why I’ve never bought a new one.
Happy New Year!
Kaiman and Lok!! Unbeatable partnership, lovely duo. Happiest new year you two. 🫡💛
Agree. Bring on the X-Pro 4
Bokeh Bros back at it😂❤
2025 i would like to see a PROPER pancake lens from Panasonic for the S9. Give me a 40mm F1.7 or something
suggestion - Each bokeh bro gives explanation of favorite five cameras, favorite five lenses, favorite five accessories. Any time frame, any price range. Maybe three videos, because nobody wants to watch and hour long youtube video,
Happy New Year!!
Really, LUMIX should hire both of you as advisors.
“Moments ago” 😂
Do you guys have any future plans to compare camera phones and not just iphones, say S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro
I have the S24 Ultra. The camera is pants!
good to see the cube!!!
"Appeals to 1%"
Embarrassing kids is Biblical Definition of Fatherhood😀My pick is Nikon ZF whithot whatching entire video
Is bruh good or bad?
Lok really said "bruhhhhh..." LOL!!!!! 2:08
What about lenses? Another video?
Funny how that car parked right next to you. They had to be able to see that you were filming. Weird choice by the driver.
Set up guide for next year
Kai, Lok, 個開場令我想起ATV 56 周年台慶logo!
this vid is wholesome 100 fr skibidi toilet bois (happy 2025)
Rollei 35 AF should be downgraded to whatevs for them being radio silence on any updates to shipping status since September
Sigma should have been the top ranking
Happy new year! Pen-F ii for 2025 pls.
A Fiat 500 is the most questionable product choice. Kai's auto choice is far better for hauling one's photo GAS unless it has a CVT.
21:40 Just want to say how cool I am for using an original OM1 since I was a kid
No Q3 Ranking? Weird
The most pretentious thing about the Hasselblad is that you can't shoot portrait with it! That's such a massively stupid oversight. And before anyone says 'just crop', keep in mind that that's what s**t photographers (with overly expensive equipment) say!
Next gen is gen alpha, born with extra thumbs, no free will or moral compass.....
did you say ranker or wanker?
Ricoh - GR4 and GR4 Mono! The Gofundme might be a good idea, lol.
Watching a couple of dudes ranking off in an empty car park. 😂 Bruuuhhhhh!
Others have the Rollei as worst camera of the year. Purely on results the GFX100Sii has to be top tier. I hate the X100VI
In 2025: Lumix GX9 II !!
GoPro is lacking behind big time. They stopped innovating and have big competition with the DJI and insta 360. They have to tap into another market to stay ahead
I thought you were a ranker years ago
Strictly ranking.
Ok yeah
Happy New Year! Don't you guys age? You look just the same as you did back in the DigitalRev TV days.
Lang may yer Lum reek; Och Kai the Noo 🤣
Rollei 35AF is the worst camera in 2024 according to other gear views, you "expert rankers"!
Where's the x-t50?😂
Thanks "Skibbedi Bokeh Brahh s " *g
and you are celebrating out of focus lens capabilities because...
Straight boke
Expert wa... I mean ranker.
Bootsale. Good sale.
Why is this video so short? Its complicated chalenge, a lot of gear, 30 min is not enough. 😢
No good cameras this year, Pentax 17 helped Pentax survive and maybe get Pentax K1 iii out... Maybe next year there will be better cameras...
I cameras are "bodies" but they are just tools, not cars, not people. I wish people would buy more practical and not more looking good expensive pieces of gear.
I’m with Lok XM5 blahhhhhh. No evf
tbh, I had both the pentax 17 and rollei 35af, the latter's build quality is just bad, unusable kinda bad. Interesting concept and nice lens, really bad build quality. Pentax 17 is still cheap feeling, but at least works like a new camera should be.
dried sausage 😂
Bruh
Two forty-somethings trying to sound Gen--A is so cringe. [I'm 71 btw]
Strange
