It looks like a set of tandems from a road grader. Does it work the same way with just 1 rear diff in the center that runs out to L and R side set of chains and sprockets that power the final drives on each side?

I could watch this all day. I didn't expect the four rear wheels to be suspended as a bogie and swing around a pivot point - that on top of the normal suspension on each wheel gives unbelievable axle articulation!
Made in Brazil by Engesa, this was called Boomerang suspension. Used in this truck Mamute (LG1519), Astros defense sistem (similar tandem suspension sistem), EE-25, and in battle tanks as Urutu (EE-11) and Cascavel (EE-9) and Sucuri (EE-17).
...there's only one differential back there...the wheels must be chain driven...
@@paradiseroad6405 Yes, now that I look closely I can see the chain protectors and no H-Drive which is the only other way to do it.

Legal. Dirigia uma 5ton dessa aí na época de exército. Essa do vídeo está excelente. Bela restauração. Parabéns. Pena que no meu quartel 11GAC artilharia essa1519era p tracionar um obus de 155mm e das 10 viaturas só duas tinham tração nas 6rodas. E era uma “desgraça” a caixa seca. Se errar uma marcha chora , para a viatura e começa tudo de novo. Mas eu me divertia dirigindo esse monstro.

Looks like everyone in the comment section don't understand that this "boomerang" suspension system was totally made by a Brazilian defense company called Engesa, only the truck is German.
And they stole the word boomerang from the australian boongs..

BTW: Despite the superficial impressiveness, this is hardly proof of what would happen when the truck is carrying 5-10 tons of ammunition, fuel, water, or whatever.
The f'n truck is empty guy! Great for getting back the the depot, but deliveries are another issue. Anyhow, it was somewhat impressive and the engineering was not "Brazilian indigenous" despite your tongue twisted ass darts.

Sin embargo La empresa de ingeniera engesa (Made in Brazil) mejoro el sistema de tracción y articulación denominandolo " boomerang" para el diferencial en esos años, debido a las condiciones geográficas de Brasil, para poder transportar un obus de 155mm para trasladarlo sin contratiempos por lados imposibles de pasar para el ejército de Brasil para sus ejercicios, por lo poco que se!

el 1519 es la version menor del 1521 , ambos son camionazos , en las rutas argentinas dieron su mejor rendimiento hace 30 años atras , lo se porque los vi en persona .

- How are the Rear axles anchored to the truck chassis?
- The truck's gearing ratio,is it stock standard or is it a revised low- ratio gear-box?
The truck..climbs the steep incline using low R.P.M from the engine. It's amazing!
The brake application holds the vehicle very well on the grade,without slippage. 👍
