I love how when Rocket jumped at Bacon, Nebula drew her gun on him. They really bonded after the Snap. I know it's played as a joke, but a couple of good satellites to communicate over millions of light years makes a lot of sense for nearly every space travelling sci-fi property.
BEST HOLIDAY SPECIAL EVER!!! The sight of Rocket getting Bucky’s arm and tearing up was both heartwarming and hilarious. And I loved that we found out Peter and Mantis are siblings!

They should do this with every group/character. I want to see Wong & Dr Strange host the Kamar Taj Christmas party or She-Hulk & Daredevil trying to get away for a quiet Christmas together & it getting crashed by the entire Banner family, Foggy Nelson & (for some reason) The Grandmaster.

Nope. Gunn said that in his head he envisioned Thor spending just weeks with the Guardians, but admitted that it doesn't line up with the timeline. Cause according to _Thor: Love and Thunder_ Thor spent quite some time with the Guardians. Timeline wise Endgame is October 2023 & Thor 4 is somewhere 2024. He also did not say that Holiday Special & Vol. 3 is "years" after Thor left. I would say _Love and Thunder_ is 2024, this Special seems to be December 2025 & Vol. 3 is 2026

Absolutely loved this Christmas special! Mantis and Drax were hysterical together 😂. Cosmo the space dog was too cute. Kevin Bacon and the Old 97's sounded awesome. Really digging these special presentations
This Special was something special. I love it for what it is, and also for setting up GOTG3 in a certain way as to James didn't have to spend time explaining in the film.
i love Mantis here. The way she talks reminds me of a good friend who moved away-soft-spoken by default, but has a raspy roar for sudden emotions just like Mantis with the "Get over the zarg-nuts!" (5:56) And I like her banter with Drax, which reminds me of those hilarious videos where children act like grown-ups and their conversations are almost pointless and they argue over petty things but all so serious-like.
I love that y'all pointed out Dave Batista just laughing at himself. I'm a die-hard GOTG fan. Have these characters tattooed on me 😆 I know there's been a lot of ups and downs for Bautista and his relationship with Disney so it's really fun just to see him having fun

At the moment the references are only going one way but hopefully now they have a new studio dc start referencing marvel once they build up there new universe in the next 10 years or more
The music choices in this special are really great... It's such a great holiday special. Didn't think it was possible but I love Mantis even more now.... Bacon did a great job too
This Groot is a completely different Groot. He has been raised by all of the team, in addition to being a big fan of Thor. So he has taken on aspects/traits of those influences in his identity. Whatever he knows from the GOTG Vol 1 time period, would have been told to him by the others, since he has no actual memories of that time.

One of my favorite Easter eggs/small touches in the entire MCU is how the Guardians went from not understanding Groot at all to being able to talk to him normally. It’s never really addressed, but it makes enough sense that I actually think it’s better for not addressing it.

There’s a Groot miniseries from a few years ago where it’s shown in a flashback that Rocket and Groot first met by being locked up in the same prison cell. They spent enough time together that Rocket eventually just learned to understand Groot, and I assume the rest of the Guardians would eventually more or less follow suit.
the original Bucky arm got destroyed completely by Stark in CivilWar, this arm is the Wakanda, vibranium arm,James Gunn said Nebula went to Earth and got it from Bucky so it's cannon....
There was a fun little Lego Star Wars Holiday Special last year. Nothing amazing but it's out there. A lot of the voices from the Filoni-verse show up to reprise roles, which is probably the best part.

I adored this special. While I'd love to be as optimistic as you guys about Gunn coming back to Marvel Studios after Guardians 3, I just can't see Warner Bros letting him. Once his Marvel Commitments are done I'd have to imagine he has a non-compete clause as a CEO.

Michael Rooker and the young Peter Quill did perform their roles on set, and it was animated afterwards.
I thought it looked rotoscoped, which is when they trace the animation over live footage.
Groot's new design is probably meant to be an easier costume for the theme parks
it 100% is. no doubt also cheaper for this too.
