The man helping you out at FTU, excellent young man. Extremely helpful, always great to talk to, and loves his bass fishing. I often go into FTU and always make a point to talk to him. Great guy.
My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!
When I first got my mirage drive I heard how they needed all this maintenance and adjustments. I fish at least once, usually twice weekly. Its always getting kicked up in the shallows in the clay/mud and on oysters. I rinse it and then add some Rem oil, now I use Clenzoil, to the chain, cables, and bearings. Zero issues. Zero adjustments. As you said, its a tank.
if I lived on the coast, and needed skinny water capability, this is the logical choice... living in DFW my instant "hands free" reverse Old Town in deeper water is my choice... that being said .....beautiful kayak you have there!!!
Great review on the kayak I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Hobie Outback Kayaks. Once I’m ready to purchase one I would really like some advice from you to choose which kayak I should get and what I need to be successful on the water! Nice video👏👏🙌
I'm about to jump in one myself, Great quick video with good detail, I'm Fishing the Big Bend of Florida and have fished about everything and Hobie is top Notch 👌
I just recently purchased a 2022 pro angler 14 360 in the seagrass color. I've taken it out a few times and so far I'm loving it. I was considering the outback at one point but ultimately decided on the pro angler series because of the stability and capacity. I'm going to be using it fishing big lakes and reservoirs along with inshore saltwater and maybe some offshore once I'm really comfortable with it.
I've heard the stability is the same, if really the Outback having more stability in rougher water. The PA being wider, but you sit higher, so it's a wash.
The load rating of 425 pounds on the webside includes the weight of the kayak, seat and drive. So if you subtract that 105 pound weight it leaves you with an actual 320 pound load capacity for kayaker and gear.
Man bro I enjoy watching your fishing videos. Im a Texas man and I do a lot of fishing in the Galveston area but just recently got into the kayak fishing because of you! I would love to hit the water with you sometime!
Now the call to Brock at Louisiana Custom kayaks to get you a slick, custom, marine mat cut with your logo on it. Charcoal and red will look good on that ivory.
Good review. One tactic I use often when fighting a red is reverse. It's also very handy when you're surprised by rocks, oyster beds, stumps, etc. I've seen other videos where it seems the method of requiring one align the pedals, then pull the switch, then reverse seems very cumbersome to someone who hasn't used it. Instant reverse seems much more user-friendly. I haven't seen you use reverse a lot in the videos I've watched. I'd be interested to see a video focused on your thoughts and methods you've learned to be efficient with the reverse on the Mirage drive.
I'm also 5'9 and 220lbs. And have terrible balance. I bought a new 2016 outback back in 2016. And I do think it is a great kayak. Except the front hatch has always leaked in water. And I can't stand on it except when I beach myself. Hopefully I'll get a 2022 outback soon? I believe the newest outbacks are their greatest creation. Verygood review on the outback.🙂
You're the reason why I have my outback, I messaged you IG asking which kayak you recommend you answered the HOBIE OUTBACK. So far happy with it just wished I could upgrade to the kickup fins they released a few weeks after I bought my brand new kayak. Hook me up with the kick up drive lol I'll pay for it just hobie wont sell it separately
From what he showed, it pretty much looks identical to my 2020. It does look like the molded rod holders are different. Those are the only thing I don't like about my outback.
Great video and one of the reasons I am buying my first Hobie. What cart are you using for this? I use a Wilderness cart for my Old Town 120 pdl. Thanks
Hey Rx Nick , Comprehensive Assessment in a Compact Vid ,,,,One Day I Know W Ur Honest Reviews I Will Own a Hobie Outback / PA 12 ,,, Munchas Gracias 👊🏼
I’m also 5’9 and 220lbs. Currently using the 2016 outback and it’s definitely okay to stand on but I’m personally not too comfortable moving my feet around and/or actually making casts. Would you consider making an on-the-water review of you standing on the 2022 outback? I’m stuck between upgrading to a PA14 or a new outback
I freakin love my Hobie. I have the 2020 Outback in Blue. The only bad thing about it is my daughter steals it when she comes down and makes me use the ol janky hahaha
Brother that’s a good looking kayak. I wish I could use one but my back is messed up bad enough that I can’t set very long and have a hard time standing up. Wish I had one when I was young
How do you get in and out of the water with your wheels. The current Hobie wheel set up is kind of a hassle. I have one myself and it’s getting old not having a set up like some sidekick wheels that other kayaks have
Picking out one next week. Probably going with this color. Mostly a wildlife/landscape photography platform at first. Too many expensive hobbies... lol. Thonk I can use a mount for my monopod. The seat was comfortable the key as well as the standup H-stand. Thinking it would be neat to build a little blind. We shall see because my budget is already maxed. Does the small deck storage stay dry enough to store a camera lens?
I currently own a 2020 compass in camo and I been thinking to upgrade. I saw Hobie made some mango orange with black streaks and that motivated me to get an outback in that color. But they don't offer it on the web page.
That’s what’s up, brotha! I would definitely stick with the OB, but mostly Hobie. I have a 2020 PA14 and a 2020 OB and will get a Lynx in the future. 😅 Talking about the Lynx, why not try that for a day on the Marsh? Just for a day?
Agreed, the only noticable difference I saw was the molded in roof holders. I love my 2020, but unless it was a gift I see no reason to replace it with the 2022 model.
IF I WORKED WITH THEM I WOULD SAY ANYTHING THEY WANT ME TO SAY TOO. FRIEND HAD TWO OF THEM ONE LASTED 4 MONTHS AND THE OTHER 8 MONTHS. HE GOT A LIFETIME TETON PRO AND PUT A MOTOR ON IT LESS THAN $600 IN IT.
Hey Nick , I see u truly love bfs fishing gear ,,,Ive been tracking this gentleman on utube : The REEL TEST for a few years & He Is ‘Scientific’ about bfs baitcasters ( Asia of course ) ,,, but also da Rod Matchups r pretty Sick too man ,,, pls check his stuff out ,,, I believe u will like it ‘muncho’ ,, his perspective in bfs is - grams , not oz’s ,,,,🧐 🏹🆙🦾🇺🇸✨

This is a very in depth review, can't wait to see it in the water
Congratulations on the new kayak looks awesome good luck 🍀
if I lived on the coast, and needed skinny water capability, this is the logical choice... living in DFW my instant "hands free" reverse Old Town in deeper water is my choice... that being said .....beautiful kayak you have there!!!
Congrats on the new boat! Can't wait to see you out on the water with it.
That intro was the nicest way to say "shout out to all my haters, thanks for getting me paid" .
Congrats dude! You are the reason why I bought the new Hobie Outback.
Congratulations on the new outback!
Great review on the kayak I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Hobie Outback Kayaks. Once I’m ready to purchase one I would really like some advice from you to choose which kayak I should get and what I need to be successful on the water! Nice video👏👏🙌
Can't wait to see you nailing those monster reds off this beaut! I'm sure you're looking forward to her maiden voyage! Sweet ride my man!
Excellent video. I’m going to pull the trigger on one soon. Thanks for the info.
In my oppinion, that is the top of the line kayak. Congrats, and I cannot wait to see it on the water.
I appreciate your videos you’re a good guy of course we like you All your tips and information your positive energy thank you again for all your help
I’d like to see more about the actual water depth/displacement requirements. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos as you put this to use.
I appreciate all of your videos. I’ve been following you for about 6 months and you have influenced me to buy a new Hobie.
I'm about to jump in one myself, Great quick video with good detail, I'm Fishing the Big Bend of Florida and have fished about everything and Hobie is top Notch 👌

Great over view of the outback! 🤙🏽
Man bro I enjoy watching your fishing videos. Im a Texas man and I do a lot of fishing in the Galveston area but just recently got into the kayak fishing because of you! I would love to hit the water with you sometime!
I have a Bigwater 132 and love it but the PA 14 360 that'll be my next kayak! That way I can have the best of both worlds!
The crate fits snug so no noise. Very important.
I got the Outback and ivory Dune. 2021 love it
Now the call to Brock at Louisiana Custom kayaks to get you a slick, custom, marine mat cut with your logo on it. Charcoal and red will look good on that ivory.

Looks great, Nick. Can’t wait to see what kind of journeys this platform will bring to the channel. Maybe you can get into some Texas Fishing Travels?

Get the front seal hatch for it I put one on my 2017 PA14 front hatch
Picked mine up from Mariners Sails about a month ago. I got the papaya and my other half to the dune.
You're the reason why I have my outback, I messaged you IG asking which kayak you recommend you answered the HOBIE OUTBACK. If I could, I would hook you up 😂
I really like my dune Outback also, although mine is a 2015 with a MD180. They are solid fishing machines...I'd love to try the 2022!
Congrats on the sponsorship! All the hard work paid off. :) Are there any differences between the 2020 & 2022 versions?
From what he showed, it pretty much looks identical to my 2020. It does look like the molded rod holders are different. Those are the only thing I don't like about my outback.
Looks great can’t wait to see it in action , love your videos.
I have the Outback and a PA14. I’m 6’3” and 260 pounds. The PA 14 is very stable
I’m the same size as you. Lolz What year on the Outback and PA14? Do you feel comfortable standing and fishing in the Outback?
Great video and one of the reasons I am buying my first Hobie. What cart are you using for this? I use a Wilderness cart for my Old Town 120 pdl. Thanks
What is the new color they came out with the new outback besides the dune color?
I have a 2020 Outback in dune and love it. I see they changed those built in rod holders. They are not in a convenient location for me.
Hello Rx Angler I’m from Houston , Texas . I was wondering if you can hook it up with a Hobie kayak ( discount) ?

If you want super stability then the PA is your best bet.
A local dealer has 2021 Outbacks discounted. Are there any major changes on the 2022 models?
I freakin love my Hobie. I have the 2020 Outback in Blue. The only bad thing about it is my daughter steals it when she comes down and makes me use the ol janky hahaha
Awesome setup!!

Hobie Alter a Legend..
I currently own a 2020 compass in camo and I been thinking to upgrade. I saw Hobie made some mango orange with black streaks and that motivated me to get an outback in that color. But they don't offer it on the web page.
My 2023 is due to arrive any day, mango camo.
That’s what’s up, brotha! I would definitely stick with the OB, but mostly Hobie. I have a 2020 PA14 and a 2020 OB and will get a Lynx in the future. 😅

Looks to be better built than old town sportsman lineup.
Ya selling your old one? I'm interested if you are.
The outback is my next kayak.saving up .I have a feel free ,its OK
Hmmmm.....looks like there was a big tent previously where you picked up the kayak.
Awesome bro
See they redesigned the 4 built in rod holders so no rubber covers since my 2020. Hate those covers.
You can take them off.. I'd rather have them then not. I'm sure certain storage options would leave them filled up with nastiness.
I like the flush mount rod holders better than the molded ones in my 2020.
What kind of scam is this?
How much do you weigh? Serious question.
What is the price point?
is your papaya orange for sale?
What dealer did you go through for the Outback?
Fishing Tackle Unlimited
have you ever turned over in a kayak. I want one but don't want one if I am gonna flip over.
Hi, can you send me the link for grey shorts you have in the video, thx. I went to your amazon page and don't see the shorts, thank you.
They are from Aftco. I don’t recall the name.
Is it possible to send me the link or ad to ur amazon page? Thx.
Just a word of advice, avoid using WD40 on the drive. Use the hobie lube
Go hobie
Nice!
I thought you once used a power pole?
An Old Town big-water 132 would make this look like a Tonka toy.. If you know you know....
Woulda been nice to see the hobie on a diff vehicle wink wink!! Haha.
I don’t get it, what’s the point? Looks like the same kayak since 2019, great kayak though
Agreed, the only noticable difference I saw was the molded in roof holders. I love my 2020, but unless it was a gift I see no reason to replace it with the 2022 model.
if hobie did not sponsor, would you pay your hard earned money on this kayak and this soon?
I would and I did (2020). I love it.
Ya but where’s the 10” Outback? We want the ten foot boat, nothing larger is required.
Got the same one, nothing competes with Outback
Big surprise lol
We like you
U forgot the price.
Where’s the auto pilot
Guess they forgave you for your Old Town switch a roo.
Why the clickbait "WATCH BEFORE YOU BUY" Can’t you just write a good honest title for your video? Come on man.
Nooo. Not you!!
Why the annoying drum music?
