My favorite Don Rickles story about Frank Sinatra: Don was at a nice restaurant, with a beautiful young woman he wanted to impress, when he saw Frank at another table. So he went over to Frank's table and asked Frank that when he finished eating would he stop by Don't table and say hello to impress Don's date. When Frank finished, he stopped bay Don's table to say hello but Don interrupted him saying, "Frank, can't your see we're eating?".
Dean and Frank were better. I am a tremendous Rickles fan but Don repeated his act a lot so Sinatra was only good for a once in a while thing. I do know that Sinatra and Rickles toured together. I also know they went on trips together. Rickles kept everyone laughing and smiling. Sinatra loved having that around.
@@NoOne-kr4jc "...Don repeated his act a lot... Besides, you had "humorists" and comedians. Humorists took daily life events, current events, topical subjects and presented them in a... humorous fashion. Frank Sinatra once saved my life! I was being viciously beaten behind a casino in Las Vegas by these three huge guys. I thought it was my last minutes on Earth! Then Frank says to the guys, "That's enough, boys." I have been grateful to that man ever since!
Two of my favourite men in the world and they are dead! Love those two. I am grateful for RUclips! Both were multi talented and both were charismatic. Rest in Peace Frank and Don! 🤩🤩
I was lucky enough and very old enough to be able to say that, in house I was raised in Francis Albert Sinatra was the 13 th apostle. I was able to take my daddy and sons to see Frank twice. My daddy sobbed.
This video had way more entertaining humorous energy in it's 10 minute length than I have seen in an entire year of any new late talk show on TV in the last 20 years.
It always seems like people are very nervous or awestruck, even some of the biggest names in show business, when Sinatra walks into the room. Even Johnny Carson seemed nervous when Frank was on the show. And he interviewed everyone.
At the very least Frank was in league with the mob. Quite possibly he was high up to running one quietly. He RAN Vegas for years... The mob controlled Vegas.
Me was born in 80s. But really, learning who is Don Rickles and bring me here. The chemistry between them is hard find. Frank Sinatra a legendary Singer come out to help boost a comedian show. Its is so pure. May they both rest in peace.
"Don Rickles Surprised by Frank Sinatra..." Rickles: "I saw Frank backstage, you know what he said to me?" Maybe he wasn't all that surprised, but it was a nice gesture by an old friend, trying to give his buddy the rub on his new show. Those guys were class acts.
Both Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra had a great friendship. It was greatly shared in this video. From the bottom of my heart, may God truly bless them both!!!…Karl Schumaker ❤
I don't know if Frank had one friend in the world. Hangers-on, sycophants, toadies, high and low level employees, staff. He did try to surround himself with some of the world's most wealthy and influential men, but Frank was too crude to really fit in.
It's a great (and 100% true) story how the 2 of them became friends. Oh, ok I'll tell you, Sinatra was in a restaurant one night and coincidentally Rickles went in for a meal. Sinatra was in a foul mood and let it be known, when he got his meal, he really wasn't happy with the quality so he threw a tantrum, started shouting and tossed part of the crockery to the floor. Rickles looked up, and quick as a flash shouted "pass the ketchup Frank"........ Sinatra burst out laughing, and that was it, they remained friends until Sinatra died, just have a look at some of their interactions on other shows - - Rickles used to goad him about his "mafia" connections (which he didn't have), Sinatra thought Rickles was a comedy genius
they actually met when Rickles was performing at a casino and saw Sinatra walking past and Rickles pointed and said "hey everyone its Frank Sinatra.... How you doin Frank please sit down, make yourself comfortable, hit someone" and everyone laughed including Sinatra. and Frank did have friends in the Mafia. Carlo Gambino and Anello Dellacroce dont just take pics and come backstage for anyone.
Sinatra DID have mob connections. Sinatra is the man who got Kennedy elected. The Sands in Vegas was pretty much HQ for the Mob. The Sands is where Sinatra stayed. When they imploded The Sands, they said it was heavily reinforced for an "attack" when the other casinos at the time didn't. He may have said he didn't have "connections" but he did. Be warned though...some of his "friends" are still around.

Sinatra didn't care for Rickles throwing a microphone. That's the man's instrument and you're just throwing it around. Singers know how expensive microphones are and how touchy the people who own them are about how they're handled.
Don't know if the audience was suppose to act like this since idk anything about the show but if they didn't then this was horrible job by them, these two were great
Love how Nelson Riddle and his orchestra is there. Aka same Orchestra from The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Great comedy from the 2 legends and music from a classic orchestra
❤❤❤I love Don Rickles very very much I want to see him more on my UTube on my cellphone He’s very very funny. When I’m sad he makes me laugh. He was fantastic
yea, Sinatra could not carry the crowd, he was about as un-funny as they get....he had to have lines spoon fed to him from comedy writers. He did make a lot of money, which goes a long ways in comedy. They will laugh with you if you have wads of cash and a personal Cessna Jet. Everyone in the crowd knows how much it costs for the upkeep on the Cessna and annual inspection, so they open up their throats for Frank and give him the good stuff. He also had a beautiful home in California, almost as nice as Robert Conrads.

Don and Frank should have made movies together in both comedy and drama as they had excellent chemistry and acting skills.
