Tiny desk definitely stepped up their quality. The reverb wasn't there before. However that's not taking away from the fact that Miley sang her heart out. She's a natural. Bon Miley Jovi indeed.
Miley is a great great singer, she fits every single music genre and she has such a huge presence. She always looks at ease while performing, born to be on stage.

The bridge needs to make a comeback in pop music. So much pop music just sounds so flat and uninteresting without that punchy bit of tension that used to be every fan’s favourite bit of every song. There’s no air, no space in so much pop music today. Miley’s voice is insane. And she clearly is a true lover of music. She pulls on so many influences and it was great to hear you recognizing some of them as you listened along.
Dude she sings since she was 13 years old!!!!! obviously she's such a pro and has that control of her voice, I think that anybody would have that control and technique if we would have had been Disney's golden goose and have had them overworking us and controlling every move since such an young age.

I agree with your assessment of the issue of the " is it a Bridge or.. something else." There are tons of songs which just have verse part one, verse part two, and verse part three and no bridge at all. Your definition or description of what a bridge is is, I think, spot-on. Good to hear that.

'Golden G-String,' (for your edification and development) is, musically and stylistically, a pointed reference, an homage, almost, to the "protest songs" done by Folk artists in the 1950s and 1960s. The 6/8 (or 12/8) meter, along with the melodic elements, is clearly intended to summon up English and Irish Folk Songs -- songs which the Folkies of the 50s and 60s thrived on, and played outright, or used as inspiration for their own songs. The lyrics are classic 1960s protest song material...with a few specific references to Miley's particular experience being the exception... just updated for our times.
(Recommended listening: The Weavers, the Clancy Brothers, Jean Ritchie, (early) Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Odetta, Fred Neil, .... I could go on, but that's a start)

If I'm gonna be honest here but I feel like Blake here would be a much better and healthier partner for Miley than some of her past partners. No shade. It's just really sad because Miley deserves so much better than what she got you know? She just deserves someone that will love her for HER and nothing else. I'm just so proud at how far Miley has come since her debut as Hannah Montana back in the year 2006 and she has achieved so much since then and she's only 28 years old mind you. She's an absolute living legend of our generation and one of the very last amazing singers of this era.
