- A look at a couple of brave souls who are jumping off the Stratosphere Hotel tower in Las Vegas. The tower stands 1,149 feet above the Las vegas strip. The jumpers will fall 855 feet (108 floors) in a controlled free-fall.

A friend jumped this method. Said while he was getting unhooked somebody actually did jump from the other side. Said it sounds exactly like you think it would.

If you do the math: 1080 feet in 18 seconds = 60 feet per second or 40.909 miles per hour. This is not a free fall rate. Following the USPA SIM (Skydive Instructional Manual), an average jumper will perform a 1000 foot fall in about 5.5 seconds. So this jump should have taken about 5.5 seconds. This is more similar to an auto-belay for indoor rock climbing.
Yes but as someone who has done this and jumped out of a plane I can tell you this is just for the experience. Most people will not jump out of a plane or do anything close to freefall but they can at least say they got to do something like jump off a building which to me is pretty dope

You can jump of this thing for about 120 floors. And its a hell lot cheaper to do it like that.
