I can almost guarantee just as they have with Phoenix in the past, is to lower the key when they play this live. Just like Love from the Other side, they are so incredibly high, you can tell Patrick is really reachin up there. Bless him for giving us the original keys live, but I don't want him to blow his voice this early lol. He's amazing.
I've been listening to them for 20 years and seeing them for over half of that time, and honestly this is the least strained and best his voice has ever sounded in my opinion. You can tell that he's been working hard at it to hit notes that he's missed in the past. The Sixteen candles sustained ending "I'm always late," literally had me jaw dropped
the other problem with trying to do this at a lower key is that we might then get the *opposite* problem - the low notes in the verses being too low to hit.
This song live sounds great, I was wondering if they were gonna do the three piece and bring a rhythm guitarist for back up, but shit the three piece works, thanks for filming this
@@oceanhrvx Ah, I assumed so, I hope hey bring the tech in stage for the other shows, but yeah I'm hyped first the new album to, Mania was a massive let down for me, and these two songs blow the last two albums out the water
@@davidsoux I'm not saying he isn't doing it nor can't do it, I'm just saying might aswell bring Joe's guitar tech on stage by the drums, and have him play with them
@@davidsoux fall out boy's rhythm and lead dynamic hasn't always been consistent (especially in prehiatus) but Patrick USUALLY plays songs as a rhythm player and he explains this by saying he sees himself leaning towards rhythm because he's a drummer first and foremost

They actually had Joe's tech playing on stage right but towards the back. They still sounded fantastic though. Super stoked for the new album lol

Patrick plays rhythm. You can clearly see and hear it.
