@@KarolaTea Continents are not typically defined by tectonic plates; if they were, Southern California would not be considered part of North America, and India would be considered part of Australia. "A person I imagined is sitting next to me" hit me hard. If a person I imagined became real (not just an actor playing them) I would feel bad for most of them. Awful things tend to happen to the people I imagine. I guess that why John is so relatable for me.

I cannot imagine how happy I would feel if one of the people I imagined became real. It must be amazing. (And I am so happy that Looking for Alaska is finally becoming a TV show -- I've waited so long for this).
i will never stop talking about this series. i’m 32 and i have watched it 22 times through. i feel such a deep connection with it, especially as a private school kid in 2005, who lived on all of the songs they used in the series (from the ben gibbard songs, to the gorillaz, to modest mouse, etc.) but most importantly, it depicts the juxtaposition of the love and grief i have dealt with, not just throughout my adolescence, but also in my adulthood, so well that i will return to it time and time again. i CANNOT thank you enough for not only writing this book (which i am finally reading), but allowing it to be depicted visually, and so beautifully at that.
The Hulu version of Looking for Alaska is in my opinion the best film adaptation of John’s books… changed my life reading that book… over ten years ago 😭

I don’t have enough words for how the show made me feel. It was wonderful, captivating, and very much how I imagined it. Looking for Alaska was the first John Green Book I read and I was busy with college at the time so I got halfway through and didn’t finish it. Hey! I'm also from Missoula (well 20 miles south in Florence lol) and Looking for Alaska was one of the books that helped change my life. I have multiple mental illnesses that although not debilitating, they make a lot of things difficult.
The characters in this novel were uniquely quirky, people that can be so varied and detailed. It allowed.me to truly connect and dissect their feelings. I read it probably 5 times.in 3 months. And as someone with Aspergers it just helped me realize so much with depression, trauma, social interaction, friendships, and a lot more. It helped me evolve in one of the most uncertain periods of my.life and I can't thank you enough.
Keep up the work!

I just wanted to say, John I read looking for Alaska at a moment in my life when I really need it. It was one of the first times that a book gave me goosebumps and Affected me so much that it became a safe place for me. It truly was one of the greatest things I needed at the time to help me get out of the dark place I was in. I’ve read the book over 30 times now and every time I still remember the scared girl I was when I read it, how much it helped me, and how far I’ve come.
“Looking for Alaska” is my favorite book by you. I fell in love with everything about it.
So thank you for this piece of art. ❤️
I'm just so incredibly glad that you have been able to be a part of, and, perhaps more importantly, always genuinely like and are excited about the adaptations of your books. I have always been a strict enforcer of the rule "if the book came first, read the book first," but I can't make sure every person on earth follows my rule. Knowing the author of some of my favorite novels fully supports and enjoys the adaptations of them makes me feel so much better about all the people who won't read the book.
