This is exactly what I was looking for my 1978 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4 rebuild. I found the parts you used and and will use almost everything I see here. My 383 will greatly appreciate the new fuel supply!! Thanks again. MK
Great video! Lots of helpful information. I have a 75 stepside with dual tanks I'm looking to swap to fuel injection. Originally I was going to go with a single Boyd tank, but now I've reconsidered.
Can you make a short video going over how you hooked up the Jabin woods harness. I think most of us wood like to see how you wired it in. Thanks for such a good video, it definitely helped out
Mine is not a factory dual tank so idk how the factory setup is. Thought I would ask for a short video of how its laid out, I’ll find a diagram for it thank you
I dont know if i likebthe pumps running the whole time. Usually they kick on, build preasure and kick off. Im planning on rumming a holly terminator. I wonder if it has a option to continuously run the fuel pumps,or of they auto shut off
I have an 1987 gmc dual tank with ls swap. the gas gauge works fine for the drivers side. when you flip the switch for the pass side tank it always reads full. would missing ground wire ore B+ cause it to read full? I would imagine the gas gauge would always fail to empty.
Pretty difficult question. The wires go from the switch, to the valve, to both tanks for fuel level sender info & to the fuel gauge plus power and ground connections.
How did you like the do things worry set up did everything work OK? I found him on Facebook. I just wanted to know if everything worked out good and what you had to do different to make it all work before I order it.
Wouldn’t the check valves do a better job on the outlet side of the fuel filter as to preventing back flow pressure on the outlet side of that fuel filter/ regulator?
I seen holley offered a 12-378 part number which is a oem style electric fuel pump which does everything for you. Even preset to run a certain amount of pressure. Think he said 58psi. I want to run this on a carb so ill just buy a regulator to turn the fuel pressure down to 6-8psi
How much power are you pushing I’ve watched your other videos and saw your running a chupacabra cam and saw the trail blazer intake manifold and I’ve seen that the tanks inc kit is only rated for like 450
So the harness you bought from the fellow on Facebook just runs from the pumps to the '87 selector valve, then from the selector valve to the switch. The selector valve is only used to control the electrical part of the fuel system and has nothing to do with routing fuel. Is that correct? So if i still have the original harness in the truck, i shouldn't need to buy that one correct?
@@GreaseMonkeyTV 76 c20 with an LS swap. I'm trying to keep the dual tanks, so if I put a 87 selector valve in, and ran the wiring through it, but plumbed it separately, that should work correct?
Man this video rocks. I wish you would review the transfer valve a bit more. I have an 87 that im starting to do this on. I have all the parts you showed minus the wiring harness. I have 2 new dorman tanks as well as 2 tanks inc tanks in my garage. Gotta figure out which tanks to use and return the other tanks. I want to keep the valve switch so i can go between both tanks. I didnt see any fuel lines going to the transfer valve. Any insight on how you plummed the transfer valve would be stellar.
My fuel system doesn’t flow through the valve. It’s designed for TBI pressure not LS 60lb pressure. In my application, the valve just switches on the correct pump and reads the correct fuel level.
Would you be interested in selling the cover that went over the fuel tank selector valve on that mounts on the frame if so I would be interested in purchasing it . Thanks Steve
Had to email tanks inc, apparently those npt fittings are for their pumps. I'd advise anyone to just order fittings and line elsewhere, just mimic the including on their site.
That selector valve will probably only be good for a return style intake manifold and use valve to switch return feed back to tanks since return pressure should be less than 60psi I probably would not run feed fuel through this valve even if its rated for 65psi
Your video is awesome!! Best one on RUclips. Thank you so much!!
WHOW, WHOW,WHOW. All I can say Sir. you are amazing you are a crack mechanic, thanks a lot Second to none.

Appreciate the comment! Exactly why we make these.

It lays exactly like the factory harness plus a couple power supply wires that are labeled.

Could post part #s for the fuel pump kit

Probably just replace the sender if you’re dropping the tank anyway. They are cheap.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV thank you
The selector valve. Where do those wires go. I’m trying to redo mine with new wires. The two plugs on the tanks maybe?
Pretty difficult question. The wires go from the switch, to the valve, to both tanks for fuel level sender info & to the fuel gauge plus power and ground connections.
U have any links to parts used I've been needing to replace my tanks but wanna redo the whole system but can't find the stuff online

How does the wire kit connect to the engine harness ?
Hooks to the Fuel pump output from the LS ECM.
@ thank you just making sure it would hook up as normal
Do you have to run both tanks and if you don’t, which one can you run the best?
Typically, drivers side if you only have one.
I seen you hooked to the electric wire to the fuel selector but did you hook up the fuel hoses or did you use that for fuel
Only used the selector for switching power to pumps and fuel gauge.

It's like 800 bucks just for the sending unit through LMC
What size fuel tank and fuel sending unit. Are you using!!!!!

Should be right at the 450 mark at the crank.
This may be a silly question, but is it E85 safe?
Yup. Printed right on the hose.
do you know if this will work with the holley terminator x as far as the wiring harnesss
Sure. Just use the terminator fuel pump output wire to this harness at the switched power supply side.
@@GreaseMonkeyTV thanks bro
@@GreaseMonkeyTV do you know if there’s another harness I can use if I can’t get this specific harness he’s using ?

‘87
Would you know if c10 and c20 run the same tank part numbers
If you look those part numbers up on Summit, they provide all the fitment options.
Ls suppose to be regulated at 58 psi, that Lil bit dies make a difference

There is zero paperwork on the harness.
What was the name of the guy on Facebook that makes the harnesses for the switch and regulator?
Jabin wood
