I totally understand where you're coming from Mike youtube.com/@mikewashburn2458! The CGC grading process can definitely be unpredictable at times especially recently.
You have the coolest books, David. Every one of those covers are beautiful! Love Jim Starlin but to have Steve Ditko's work with it as well is just fantastic. It's really a shame they put that Mighty world of Marvel issue 4 in backwards. Especially when it becomes a task for you to have to ship it all the way from Australia, again, to have something so simple corrected. and you want it corrected not only for yourself but it's also the only AND highest grade on the census so it deserves that regardless. All around, great books and congrats on the grade!
Thank you for the kind words Brandon youtube.com/@moncomics and glad you enjoyed these books - the early bronze age Marvel UK comics have a special place in my collection! Glad you liked seeing those Jim Starlin covers with classic Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko art on the interiors. I got the MWOM Issue 4 back recently from CGC!
I’ve always thought it’d be cool to collect those for the covers alone. Great art we never saw in the U.S. The same with Star Wars Weekly. Star Wars was the comic that turned me into a ten-year old collector in 1977, and when I saw some of the SW Weekly covers reprinted in an annual or something, I really wished I could get them, but had no idea how to, much less the money. My ten year old budget was pretty tight. Great books!
Thanks Dave youtube.com/@davecrowson448, those unique Marvel UK covers are like art pieces - I'm lucky enough to own a couple of the original art and other oddities from that era thus far! I'm currently grabbing those early Star Wars Weekly issues too!
Thanks Brian youtube.com/@BrianLCS! It’s always surprising to see the new ways that CGC can mess up. Glad you liked the covers though, more of these to come!
Congratulations on your comics. I have the only two graded copies of a popular character as well. Both are CGC 9.8s. The comic came out over a decade ago. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. The QC has definitely been an issue at CGC for a while now.
Thank you Kenny youtube.com/@kennythecomiccollector! It’s always exciting to have graded comics, especially when they feature your favourite character. It’s great to hear you’ve got some amazing 9.8s! Quality control at CGC right now can be a mixed bag.
I totally get what you mean Rich youtube.com/@richtaylor3529! It’s definitely surprising that they don’t allow custom labels for the magazine format, it would add a nice personal touch!
It's also £2.99 sterling to join as well, if only I had known, lol! Like the out-take bit, daren't do that on my videos, some out-takes would be longer than my video, lol!
Thanks for sharing youtube.com/@deadman1957TEB, I didn't know that it's £2.99 for UK viewers. And hey, on the out-takes, glad you enjoyed it, I think it adds a fun touch to my videos!
Thank you for watching David youtube.com/@Dragomo-David! Appreciate your support and I hope video's like this help others navigate their own grading experiences!
Thanks for watching youtube.com/@thundergodd6086, I really appreciate your kind words. Strangely I got those from a collector in the US which John from youtube.com/@bronzeandmoderngods found.
Thanks for watching David youtube.com/@davidbattersby-y1v. Bizarrely I got these Mighty World Of Marvel's from a collection in US. John from youtube.com/@BronzeAndModernGods found them and put me in touch.
Fantastic grades congratulations, continue to do what you are you doing, highlighting the early Marvel UK its a treasure trove what so many collectors are not even aware of, I think it also has to be hit home to people on what freaks of natures those books you showed are in those grades considering the newsprint they was printed on and the printing process for them to stand up like that for fifty plus years is very very special these were very much meant to be a throw away item , read it ,throw it away and wait for the next issue scenario those Starlin covers still stand up today and the Ditko alternative cover to AF#15 well there are no words pure Ditko I have loved it from the first moment I saw it all those decades ago when I bought it from the friendly neighbourhood newsagents, like I say keep pounding away on the Marvel UK front its time that it had its moment in the sun, even though they was indirectly to blame for so many Hulk 181s being ruined through the Marvel Value Stamps originally being a Marvel UK marketing gimmick we wont tell people about that lol, great video my friend as usual superbly put together.
Thank you for your insightful comment youtube.com/@captain_uk! It's great that you appreciate me sharing the history of these early Marvel UK comics. I appreciate your support and encouragement to keep shining a light on them!
I never realised they had unique covers! Comics I bought every now and again, when I had bought all the DC titles I wanted! Was that the case with Fantastic and Terrific? I know you did a video about the back posters, most of them were unique I believe, but some, art not so good!
Thanks youtube.com/@deadman1957TEB, I love that 1970s Marvel UK books featured at times unique covers created by the Marvel US Bullpen team. On Fantastic and Terrific, they featured mostly reprints, not original artwork, unlike the later Marvel UK books. That said, they did feature unique commissioned pin-ups from a very young Barry Windsor Smith at the very beginning of his career which I cover in the previous Merry Monday Mailcall Show - ruclips.net/video/pcOn5-WnXsk/видео.html!
Not even surprised cgc made a mistake. I don't send many books in anymore just keep em raw. Just not worth the hassle for me. If it's not cgc doing something it's the post damaging boxes.
I totally understand where you're coming from youtube.com/@slowlead! The grading process can be a bit unpredictable at times, and it’s frustrating when things don’t go as planned. Keeping them raw definitely has its advantages!
Cheers Wayne youtube.com/@waynebryans-su8oi, appreciate that. It really is a challenge to find those gems in great condition, so I'm glad you enjoyed the results (even the mistake)!
These are some beautiful books! Too bad about the mechanical error. You may need to change your channel name to "still only 5P" after this excellent submission.
Hi youtube.com/@garyfinn8772. It really depends on the specific comics you have! The early books like these in the run can be quite valuable - especially with the original free gifts. Other Mighty World Of Marvel issues of note include Issue 129 (featuring the original unaltered Hulk Annual 1 Jim Steranko artwork) and Issue 197, 198 and 199 (the UK reprint of 1st appearance of Wolverine in Hulk 180/181 and the original unaltered Herb Trimpe Hulk 181 artwork) If you want any advice of them, drop me a line on Instagram - @stillonly35c
That is so unbelievable. They really need to get things figured out

Incredible books you found! Very Rare.
Thank you youtube.com/@DavidClark-vu3dw! I was really excited to share these rare finds with everyone. It's amazing what you can discover!

Wow, can't say I've seen CGC make that mistake before. All of these covers are amazing.
Thanks Brian youtube.com/@BrianLCS! It’s always surprising to see the new ways that CGC can mess up. Glad you liked the covers though, more of these to come!

It doesn’t surprise me every time I say an order I guess something wrong. I don’t know when it’s gonna stop. Thanks for the video.

CGC remind me of JB Hifi because CGC... You've done it again!
Haha, I appreciate the comparison Simon youtube.com/@TheSimpleverse! CGC definitely has a way of keeping us on our toes with their grading results!
Man am I jealous. Those are some great books, gratz. How did you come by them? Are they your childhood books? Anyway, thanks as always for sharing.

Brilliant grades So tricky to find these books in half decent condition let alone Stella grades like these ❤❤

Thanks youtube.com/@pbales8951! Given this submission, "Still Only 5P" has a nice ring to it!
Neato
I'm glad you think so Vincent youtube.com/@vincently1995! The results were definitely unexpected!
R these comics worth anything I have about 200 of them in a box in the loft apart from the first six ?

It definitely felt like a surprise in with those great results youtube.com/@Bel_Izeard! CGC is getting increasingly unpredictable nowadays.
