- Today I’m ecstatic to say we are finally at a place in Lena De Spell’s journey to be able to examine where she came from, how she became independent, and what she has become now that she is no longer a slave for Magica De Spell. I’m so happy because today we are finally going to discuss Lena’s backstory and how “The Phantom and the Sorceress” is the culmination of her story thus far! We are exploring how Lena went from shadow to sorceress!

The "supposed to be a monster"-type characters are my favorite cuz it's so interesting to see how they rebel against that fate.

Lena has been through a lot and she's come a long way. Now that she has her own magic, she can protect her friends even more. It would have been nice if Magica tried to go after Lena at the manor and Lena should say while in a showdown "You may have created me, but you never cared about me" and before blasting Magica out hard she should say "They are my family, this is my home, and you are not welcome here"

Apparently Lena sitting with Violet’s dads was a reference to them adopting or fostering her, which good for them ~~but I’d like to see that actually confirmed in canon on screen?~~
But, Webby’s Friends are kinda more or less accepted as Extended Family by the McDuck Clan
Magica doesn't really have a reason to go after Lena anymore. Unless it is revenge. And we all know how much she loves REVENGE.

Lena is such an interesting character! I love her growth throughout the show. Lena's story is so important for kids living in bad situations and proof that you can grow and change.
You actually can't, Family is a lie, parents don't care about us. They only take care of us because it's one of their dutys in life and once they have completed that task they will abandon you to fend foryourself when your 12 years old. I've learned the hard way that parents don't at all love us, we are just toys for them to manipulate us and to entertain themselves and like all toys they'll just throw us away and never love us again 💔

Lena sure had quite the Journey from her first appearance in Season 1 of DuckTales to now.

Magica sent m pretty much the same character as Zantari
I love Lena's character development. In a typical situation, this would have brought her down and turned her into a villain, you know the 'i'm a villain because of my miserable backstory' cliché but no she perserved through all the pain and problems and learnt from them and met people who truly cared about her. She became stronger and not weaker and more miserable. Though her powers were originally meant for evil, she channeled them into positivity, freedom and friendship. That's a really empowering message, depending on your mindset, your challenges either kill you or make you stronger. Keep on going though the road to success seems bumpy and uneasy, because there's a great prize at the end. Can't wait for the next ducktales episode 😄
Lena is one of my all time favorite characters in the DuckTales reboot, i reall enjoyed yesterday's episode it was good that Lena finally learned to control her powers as well as discover that she has her own magic!!!
It seriously brings me to tears 😢 knowing how far Lena rose from her slavery that she is my all around favorite character 💖
She gets to keep her friends, create a family who love her, embraced her power, finally got the freedom she desires
I just really hope that this isn't the end and we won't be seeing how her sorceress arc will be throughout the season.

I kinda hope Lena goes back to being her goth self and not becoming this blue haired super witch character. I love that her magic is under control but please don't change the character too much.
@@Logmankixass12 Yeah, I'm gonna miss the goth Lena too . . . it's gonna take quite a while to get used to those blue eyes.
But I suspect her blue form is primarily a look when she transforms. She goes back to her non-magical form in everyday life. =)

I absolutely loved this! Lena’s my favorite character and you did her justice. Also her name is Lena Sabrewing now since Violet’s dads, Ty and Indy, adopted her.
Lena is undoubtably my personal favorite character. I wished she and Della could have had an episode together before the series finale.
Lena is one of the best characters in Ducktales.

The Lena storyline is by far the best in the entire series. There's some seriously dark themes going on with familial abuse, and even as a kids' show it's not afraid to go dark in the middle if it means a better payoff later. Every episode feels like a completely natural progression, and it's satisfying every step of the way.
Although The Power of Friendship is considered to be cliche now it never gets old or boring when done correctly .

As soon as I got the notification, I clicked so darn fast! I love these videos! They help keep me sane, and also remind me of my Dad. We used to watch cartoons together, and Duck Tales was one of our favorites!
I was wondering how well Lena’s new power fit into the shows universe really at first, but it does check out if you have any thought of it being over the top or anything, it’s not unlike Morgana Macawber from Darkwing Duck even.
I love Lena’s arc so much.

The first episode of DuckTales that I ever watched was The Shadow War, and afterwards, I went on a search for any episode that involved Lena
Lena is easily one of the best parts of the show especially in the first season. She’s a fun character in her story was really compelling and I do think it’s kind of annoying that the future seasons didn’t give her as much attention

Huey, Dewey, Louie, Webby and Violet helped Lena to become a better stronger person and positive role model 🙂
This show REALLY excels at Character development. Both Lena and Della had some of the best arcs in the entire series. Hell, I LOVE that Donald (who only made sporadic cameos on the original) gets a much bigger focus. This reboot is quickly becoming one of my favorite cartoons of all time and I was already a fan of the original.

Lena's story just shows just how powerful the magic of friendship is. and I don't care if that is from another show. the Magic of Friendship is multi-universal
Lena is a good sorceress and her having magic is a good addition to the show but I am seriously so much more excited that Magica has her powers back. The show needs a good villain for future episodes and her getting her magic back makes for so much more troubles in the future.

The Friendship between Webby and Lena on the road to her redemption reminds me of Aladdin and Genie. Meanwhile, Lena discovering her true powers reminds me of how Tommy Oliver became the White Power Ranger.
Lena is proof that friendship is more magical in DuckTales than in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and that is without repeatedly claiming "magic of friendship" and variations thereof.
I used to not like Lena until I started to RELATE to her
I dunno why but when I first saw Lena, I really liked her, how much she cares about Webby and her friends, wanted Scrooge's family, going against Magica.
I find this character pretty interesting. UwU
Although sadly the show cannot make it to season 4 as it was canceled after 3 seasons, it is still a great reboot. In the show, the developers developed a lot of greats.
1. A redemption arc for scrooge on Christmas , the relationship with his dad and his children
2. The journey of Della duck, how it began and how it ends
3. The journey for Lena from just a shadow and under magica's spell, to a sorcerer herself and have the thing she always wanted: a family and freedom
4. Donald meet goofy, and talked about "normal" family issues
5. How family can really do in adventures
6. Webby great combat skills
7. The journey for kid Donald and kid Della
8. Wealth cannot buy everything
9. How to adapt your surroundings to do the best favour for yourself
I don’t know a lot about Duck Tales but it is still cool to listen to this

I just watched the episode today and no joke during the point where Lena was finally using her magic and they were explaining how she was able to control it, I shouted at the screen "say it say it! I dare you" 😂

Did anyone stop to think that the part of Magica That gave Lena her independence was most likely remnants of the turning point of her life.
The old shadow of the former self meaning that lena is essentially Magica’s remaining innocence given sentient form. And the reason why she has light powers is because she embraced a positivity out look.
It definitely reminds me of the moment where Raven rebelled against her father and got the white version of the outfit, _but kind of like that one, not sure on the new outfit._ Can a show go too anime?

I honestly hope Lena returns in some way, she was practically my fav Character in the 2017 Reboot
Phantom blot ... that’s a name that I haven’t heard since 2010
You know, I had a dream that Lena was a symbiote host and the symbiote was Magica de Spell, the witch Queen symbiote and he needed Scrooge’s dime to regain her physical form. And Lena, like in the show, she followed every order until she felt more and more human and came very good friends with both Webby and Dewey. But one day. Magica decided that enough was enough and used Lena’s body as a vessel to complete her plan but an accident caused her to separate from Lena and had to bond with Dewey gaining his symbiote suit. Then Dewey’s attitude against Scrooge’s rivals goes off the charts as he beats up Mark Beaks in a Moon Knight styled fashion. Then Lena bonds with Magica and in the events of the shadow war (or symbiote war since I had that weird dream) Magica obtains her physical form and executes Lena in a horrifying way. And in the final battle, Dewey and Webby beat up Magica for taking control of duckburg and killing Lena, saying: “SHE WAS MY FRIEND. AND YOU TOOK HER AWAY FROM US!!!” And then it’s revealed that Lena survived because she’s now half symbiote, destroying Magica’s magic and symbiote powers. But she’s now unsure what to do with her life now that Magica is out of the picture
