Nice! I can see this being super popular for recording artist at home or in a mobile rig! Obviously the studio too! Might pick one up to do a review on my channel well see :)
tbh if you're actually in the market for a 1073 pre, the dual-channel is gonna be at least 2500 (with no eq or anything else, just the pre)...so a whole channel strip and an interface for 3k makes sense
@@soulchoreaI totally agree a DPX would be the better option. I just don’t think this unit is of any real benefit. They have the somewhat new 88m interface with more analog channels. You could just connect it to an original SPX and have more features for about same cost as this unit. They’ve really just made a $1700 SPX, added a headphone jack, and gave it the digital option card features they claimed they were releasing with the original SPX. No one is going to use this as a main interface, so you’re paying for something that just isn’t worth its value, imo.
@@Beatz0-dn9pj because most people don’t use a mono DAW interface. Even with it’s Digital options, like with the ADAT inputs. The digital has already been converted, so can’t take advantage of the any Neve conversion. It’s just not a practical piece of gear imo
oooh god send me one in jamaica this piece of butter needed in my home setup to flavour up my salad im soooooo hungry this even sound better than a lynx
It seems like you have never used the power of a Neve EQ I use them every day and it help shape the sound and save you so much time later 😍🚴♂🍀 this interface I believe has also line input together with the XLR
The neve eq is notvthe be all end all of eq's either. If you mic an instrument correctly you would need very little eq. Wish they would skipnthe eq and add another pre. Now that would make a tin more sense to a working engineer. @diegoaguirrecruzaley5088
Awesome. The only thing it "needed" would be a thunderbolt 3 connection. 2 ms latency to rival the UAD apollos in that sence. Does it matter much? Would like an actual reply from Neve or someone well informed on the matter about this little detail... Maybe it wouldnt bother me in practical terms if didn't read about it. Haha It might seem like nitpicking but that is not my intention. Just a genuine question. What do you people think about that?
@@krissheehy yes but why? Give a technical reason. USB2 guarantees compatibility with a huge number of devices, what reason to use anything else for a small channel-count audio interface?
@@jtsotherone USB type B is 24 years old. Why would I invest in something with 24-year-old technology being its main source of data transmission. I want something that's future proof and I want to be able to use my USB-C cables which is standard with all new tech. Am I supposed to purchase a 3rd party adapter just to adapt to OLDER tech on a NEW product? Where's the sense in that? I'll leave you with a better question. Why couldn't they use USB-C? 1 input without adat makes no sense at all. I want to love it but 1 ch interface on the fly ? Heritage audio has a 2ch with adat interface for over a grand cheaper. I'd rather just buy another 1073 pre and add it to my halo when needed. Want to like it but just don't.
It has 8 additional Adat inputs and 8 additional adat outputs. You can operate solely in adat mode too so that you can daisy chain two units together through a single USB connection
@joeheaton8103 still requires a additional adat unit if you want to record more than 2 channels , also need to power an additional adat unit. I'd stick with metric halo , have 8 amazing channels and just add another pre , or add another 48 channels of adat. 1 channel for 2.5 k is laughable
Anyone THAT interested in a 1073 most likely already has a very decent audio interface. And if you dont already have a great interface/studio and mics, why would you pay this price for a single damn channel??? This product doesnt make sense for pretty much anyone.
Audio Interface - channel strip 🔥
CAN NOT WAIT! can not wait to hear this thing in action....

Bought....may even do an unboxing vid
I gotta try this!!

Is it have good ad converter for vocal recording? worth than apollo x6 ?

😧😵 Would I be able to re track stems through it?? Stereo & Mono ?

I see no point paying for an eq section on audio interface, i would rather buy something like the 1073 DPA with instrument inputs and headphones out.

So how do you hook up a compressor to this
You can put it as an insert

class compliant USB 🤩
Wow 🔥
1 strip is cool but one preamp means no stereo mic recording without adat
yeah a stereo strip version would be ideal
I was just curiously thinking about this tech...hmmm. Glad it was posted on the 2nd, and not the 1st of April...
That's nuts.
I just bought the SPX today then I saw this haha. Not that I need the interface version but what a coincidence.
But you could always buy a DiGi card, right ? There is a slot to upgrade, or I'm wrong?
@@Lous_taunau They discontinued the Digital card, probably because they were making this!
You could probably find the expansion card second hand?

what's the issue with USB2 for a 2-channel interface?!
Cool. Give me one. Greetings.
