I found myself wanting another Bible after I had just bought the journaling one I wanted. My husband put his foot down and said no. Then I came across your videos about Bible addiction. Thank you. I am satisfied with what I have. I don’t need to be like all the people on the internet. My walk with the Lord depends on MY time in His word.
@@laurenmay2098ummm I have bought them, taken stacks to ups to return and they all know me and it’s embarrassing and even after that I buy more. Even when I get rid of them and send them to goodwill, after a while I buy them again. It’s bad. I want to stop so much. I put some in storage at home and then I search them out. I need to just not have them in my house.

I have a collection of bibles…not tons. I am always willing to give someone a Bible I have left bibles at neighbors houses. If you go to a building that has services maybe someone needs a Bible. You can turn the Bible addiction buying into a service by blessing someone with a Bible 🙂
Thank you for this series! I have purchased and given away a few Bibles over the past few months. I saw another video regarding Bible Addiction (which I did not know was a thing), and it has stuck with me. Listening to your series has solidified bible buying for me. I have all that I need for reading and studying God's word! This is also helping me to look at other areas of my life.
This resonates with me so much. I literally have to tell myself no you don't need more, I have an ESV journaling single column bible that had not the nicest cover. I bought some cheap vinyl, ribbon and adhesive paper and glue and changed the cover. I love it, its like brand new. Thanks so much for your videos on this topic.
Hang in there. People can be thoughtless online because it feels anonymous. By telling us you are accepting accountability. I’m praying for your journey. I’m watching channels where the creators are talking about their 2025 Bible stacks. I don’t know how anyone can keep track of 3-4 Bibles, 3-4 journals, a whole bunch of markers and pens, 2-3 Bible bags. My brain goes on overload just watching.
@ , maybe that’s it. They are so busy jumping from planner to bible to bible study books to devotional to personal journal they never have time to stop and just BE. To just listen to God speaking to them.
@@openlybookish this one is one of the hardest. I don’t won’t to offend anyone and you never know what sacrifices were made to buy it. I just try to make sure they go to decent places. I also will put a disclaimer in the description section as well.
I have experienced the same issue this year - I have bought so many Bibles, mainly journalling ones and the new Inspire Bible Filament Range. And I’ve fallen into the same trap of “it’s so pretty” or “it’s the journalling bible” I’ve always wanted only to spend more money on journalling bibles. I have had to give away the majority of my Inspire Bibles except for three…but even then there is just one more I want to purchase even though it’s not necessary. And all of my journalling Bibles, I have far too many…and I’ve started with notes in one, only to move onto the next one and so it has gone on the entire year. And I’ve also realised that I have an addiction problem with constantly purchasing Bibles and I hope to change that. I’ve already decided that I’m going to have a no spend month on Bibles. Thank you, Charlene, for your videos about this. Since your first video, I’ve done nothing but think about this. And I’m going to really keep praying about this and doing my best.
I'm so glad you are making these videos. Growing up I only had one bible. Then I got older and was gifted a nicer one. I had that until it literally fell apart. And God blessed me with a lovely KJV bible from a lady at church. Then I had a bible my husband bought me. I used these for decades!! Then in the last few years, this bible journaling and bible addiction/buying started up. So I bought some. And one day, I thought.....am I truly needing all these?? No!! And no one ever stepped up and said...Stop it. I'm totally on your side!! THank you for taking this stand. I truly think it's the enemy trying to use bibles to take our eyes off of the Lord. Because we aren't focused on Him.....we're focused on the latest and cutest bible! God bless you!!! ❣
You have been a inspiration more than you’ll ever know especially for me 😍. Thank you. God’s blessings to you and your family and to all your followers. All glory to you our Lord and Savior who has inspired you to share this with us.. 👑📖✝️❤️🙏
I am grateful that you have been led to share your testimony. I understand how the influencer community has changed how we see our relationship with the body of Christ. Make no mistake, in truth a bible is The Living Word of God. I pray for 2025 that we all walk the living Word of God. I pray that this time next year my timeline is flooded with content of brothers and sister who have recorded 365 ways we have walked through the word. My bible is my planner/Day Keeper, with dates of when Our Father walked me through and I pray the same for everyone. Blessings
@@FaintNot421 thank you for your comment. This is my exact prayer that I. One year the change will be evident in our daily walk and our consistency in His Word. ❤️
I am so glad I happened upon your videos. I’m recovering from an addiction to buying bibles. The “finding the perfect bible” one has been my struggle. This is so helpful! 💜
I have a well loved and used Bible. I recently had it rebound. I tip in notes, and i dont do much art. For a time i was looking up different Bibles, but really im blessed to still have my Bible i used as a teen (NIV), an indepth study Bible my husband got me last year (NASB), and then the one i sent to be rebound (CJB- complete Jewish Bible). Plus my husband has quite a collection of KJV from Goodwill. We actually give these away at times. Its about being in the Word, and soaking it up! Its not about being on trend. If you can afford to keep buying so many Bibles, then give to a missionary that smuggles Bibles into China, or the middle east! We have brothers and sisters who are in need of the tangible Word of God who would be so grateful to receive such a gift!
Thank you for sharing this list Char. I think this would be a great list to put in your Bible to always remind yourself not to fall into the addiction again.
I have used just about every excuse at one point. I follow one RUclips channel and her Bible morphed and I wanted my Bible to look like hers. I started writing and adding tip ins and it messed up the spine. I didn’t like that for my Bible and started searching for a new Bible to start over but I realized it’s just an excuse to buy one and set it on the shelf. I might write a few notes in it but then I will come back to the one I have all my notes in. I still watch her RUclips channel but I don’t watch it with envy because the way her Bible looks like. I have not bought a new Bible and I refuse to even though I can find reasons to justify it. Thank you for your videos and encouragement.
I think I’ve purchased 11 Bibles. Thankfully not all for me 😅. Mom needed a larger print and I bought one for the kids in my immediate family including my own. I showed them in Ezekiel where they can’t be saved with MY faithfulness. They need Christ for themselves.
