We spent around £75 in Aldi, Tesco and the local butcher :) and this will do us for the week.

I’m home from hospital and resting. Had to send my husband to do the weekly shopping yesterday! So sweet to take things to hospital. My neighbors and friends have been fabulous!

Another bunch of bargains. Food is so mh cheaper in Scotland than in Tennessee. AAAWW sweet Jasper. I crochet cat nappers (cat beds) and I'd love to send him one. I bet the shipping would be outrageous. Love ya.

The mince you get from the butcher looks SO much better than what is in the supermarket. You are lucky to have a local butcher…not something you can find everywhere in the United States.
Och that's a shame Erin 😯 are butchers not a thing in the States then?
@@WhatsForTea maybe in some parts, but not where we are.
Not a thing in much of England either, and the few that survive have a tough job competing with the supermarkets.

Isn't jasper a cutie!! Good shopping haul. Yes I think the schwartz mixes , or any mixes are good just to keep in the cupboard. I usually make all my sauces etc from scratch but you know some days it's great to just get a mix out and job done. The colmans ones are nice , or even the supermarkets own. I only but the schwartz/ colmans when they are on offer tho. Ooh not made chicken chasseur for ages so sometimes just seeing a mix gives you ideas.

I love Matlteazers! We used to be able to get them here in the states for a minute but haven't had any for years due to not being able to find them anymore. They are 10 times better than the molted milk balls I grew up eating.
My local supermarket still sells them in the imports aisle,but we have lots of Itish and Brits here

Oh, Mr Kipling cakes really are the best - but my heart is broken because, for some awful reason, you can no longer get the mini Battenburgs! Have they stopped making them or just don't stock them any more? I know you have posted a recipe for making your own, but as I'm the only one who eats them in our house, it was so convenient to have a pack of small treats just for me! And another delight that has disappeared off Tasmanian shelves is Soreen malt loaf. Don't you just feel like there's nothing left in life to enjoy any more?!! Boo big hoo!

ALDI SHOPPERS BE AWARE, if you buy DISCOUNTED ITEMS or MULTIBUYS, you won't necessarily receive the reduction! ... If an item has a "30% OFF" sticker, it relies on the checkout operator to manually apply the discount, and often they don't! ... Also, if you buy the MULTIBUY Baked Beans, and you use the SELF-CHECKOUT, the machine flags the beans as "Hazardous" and does NOT apply the discount! ... A staff member confirmed, MULTIBUY discounts are NOT applied at the Self-Checkout! ... I told Customer Service about these issues, and they lied, saying they'd sort it! Aldi clearly know customers are being misled and cheated, which is almost certainly illegal! ... Not impressed! 👎😠
