    Great detailed video. I just bought one of these cars and need to change the filter. Thanks

    I love when they make it so you have to take half the car apart to get to the cabin filter

      Luckily the newer models are easier to change.

    Great video, simple & easy!
    Heads up everyone. When u take off the 1st plastic panel after removing those screws on the right & the 1 under the radio. When u pull it out, there's a clip on the bottom left of that panel, you may have to manually press on it to fully release, otherwise you'll rip it apart.

    For the love of God.
    I was sales manager at an auto parts dealership for 3 years and I couldn't have done it without this clip. What bad design! ¿:P

    If i knew this was the way i would not have bought filters. Looks like Honda hired some German engineers. Doing this on a yearly basis is insane.

      Yes, in this particular case, the filter housing is more difficult to access than most.

    I have a tape deck where the "middle console panel" is in that car. Do I have to remove the entire center console to then remove the tape deck?

    @Filterheads, I have encountered some nuts which are tightened behind the screws for the metal bar. Any idea if this is how it normally is or if someone who changed it previously added it?

    • @filterheads
      @filterheads  3 года назад +1

      Without seeing it in person it is hard to say. Sometimes mechanics will change out the types of screws and bolts.

    Are you sure you need to disconnect the lower bar?

      When we do this procedure we disconnect it so we can properly set the filter in the housing.

    You can remove the filter from the engine side instead of tearing everything apart.. this is the very hard way.

      Care to elaborate? I don't see a guide for this anywhere that doesn't say to do it through the glovebox and the filters themselves appears to be well behind the firewall.... I think you're confusing the cabin air filter with the intake air filter, but I would love to not have to disassemble half of my dashboard.
