God the idea of thinking that’ll you’ll change just because you’re somewhere else, Aaaaand then Finally realizing you haven’t, is sadly one of the most relatable things any character has expressed. Change requires a deep examination of one’s self and can’t be cheated or pushed away. But fuck, you wish that it could just so easy, and that you’ll be a different person if you could just start over. But that’s just not how we work. Truly one of the most powerful monologues in media, if I’m being frank.
I'd say it's more narcissistic if you found him unlikeable before this. His character is very obvious from the beginning. Before this he was pulling a face, trying to be very positive, here he shows that he is very human.

It was frustrating with knowing that he is returning from death he still chose poor choices and acted terribly. Ep. 18 is when he realized that he was a loser and was trying to change. That when character growth came and he became a likable character. This is real in the real life, your going to make a lot of enemies thinking that “woe is me” is how you should feel when hit with adversity
@@SkidTheAdult Not true about the poor choices part really. He did act well and saved everyone in the best timeline after dying for a lot of times. But it's kinda true about the character development and ideology part. I think we're mostly frustrated about his self-hatred, not his actions since he was really smart and utilised information to make noone die.
i will rewatch this anime so many times will likely always be my favorite never seen anything like it, has everything i love, mystery, suffering, min maxing 10/10
