Rem was the only person that understood and shared his pain together and loved him under any circumstance. Yet, this stupid asshole chose Emilia over Rem.
Also, he has had more freaky moments with Rem than Emilia, furthermore has been eyebrow to chin deep in her boobs like 3-4 times throughout the anime.

To be fair, Emilia is the only person who actively supported Subaru, never killing his. REM on the other hand, is only like this because Subaru saved her. So it’s reasonable why he loves Emilia more. She is not only a wonderful person, but someone he doesn’t have to tie any trauma too.

Honestly atm I saw this part I believe rem was the girl for him😢
God the idea of thinking that’ll you’ll change just because you’re somewhere else, Aaaaand then Finally realizing you haven’t, is sadly one of the most relatable things any character has expressed. Change requires a deep examination of one’s self and can’t be cheated or pushed away. But fuck, you wish that it could just so easy, and that you’ll be a different person if you could just start over. But that’s just not how we work. Truly one of the most powerful monologues in media, if I’m being frank.
This was such a beautiful scene! Also something I needed to hear, too, as my own kindness is often misconstrued or overlooked since it looks different than most. Sometimes, I forget to recognise and appreciate the kindness of others because it looks different from my own.
English dubs of so many animes are better. Steins gate, AOT, re zero, death note, DBZ, Spy x Family, the list goes on

Unconditional kindness. She helped a total stranger who had done nothing to prove himself, even though she had little to gain from it. What Rem did for Subaru was particular to Subaru; what Emilia did was just how she was a person.

Subaru was probably my least favorite character ever. After this he became one of my favorite characters. He genuinely changed for the better.
I'd say it's more narcissistic if you found him unlikeable before this. His character is very obvious from the beginning. Before this he was pulling a face, trying to be very positive, here he shows that he is very human.
@@asuraspath2262I wouldn’t say that, if you watched from 1-18 he had little to no character growth. It was frustrating with knowing that he is returning from death he still chose poor choices and acted terribly. Ep. 18 is when he realized that he was a loser and was trying to change. That when character growth came and he became a likable character. This is real in the real life, your going to make a lot of enemies thinking that “woe is me” is how you should feel when hit with adversity
@@SkidTheAdult Not true about the poor choices part really. He did act well and saved everyone in the best timeline after dying for a lot of times. But it's kinda true about the character development and ideology part. I think we're mostly frustrated about his self-hatred, not his actions since he was really smart and utilised information to make noone die.
