Good news: snow golems trigger the silverfish spawning effect, even though they deal no damage. So you can trap a hostile mob, let the snow golem shoot at it and it will spawn a lot of silverfish. But that is slow. Adding more hostile mobs and snowmen raises your silverfish count linearly. Once you have a nice amount of silverfish you can splash them with the oozing potion, which creates two medium slimes with 4 hp each. You get an average of 0.15 slimes per damage, so two of these slimes total to 1.2 silvefish from one silverfish. You can chain these two potions together to multiply your silverfish count by 1.2 with each generation. Or you can just use regeneration potions to have way more silverfish spawning at once Keep in mind that the oozing effect stops working when there are over 25 slimes in a 5x5x5 area around the affected mob. So you need to quickly seperate the slimes from dying silverfish, or just enjoy your 25 slimes splashed with regeneration All of this is likely way to complicated to be practical and would require some kind of redstone contraption. Fun fact: silverfish, like all living things outside of chordata, aren’t known to feel pain the same way we do, making them almost living machines, being able to “sense” pain but not actually “suffer” from it, sort of like taking damage in a game like Minecraft for example.
Not really true. Cephalopod molluscs and decapod crustacea for example are invertebrates, but tick off most of the criteria for appearing to feel pain, such as responding to analgesics and avoidance behaviour.

I've never heard about that idea, but I love it
2:13 give silverfish the silverfish potion
doesn't work :(
I'm genuinely gonna test this to try to find deepslate emerald ore in a hardcore world when i get to the endgame, genuinely crazy good idea
I'm not gonna break anymore silverfish spawners
Etho is unironically the goat of minecraft youtube
yes
I do enjoy the thought that someone at Mojang also came across that method, and added the potion just to make it worthwhile. Probably not true, but I can dream.
would be a W developer tho
Wow I completely forgot Allays were in the game
I discovered this feature in the ancient times of 1.5.2. But back then it was only possible to utilise it in creative mode.
I’m astonished with what people are able to do, despite mojang`s constant efforts to not endorse animal cruelty. Such a creative community
You have no idea how much I love this game, another solution to a problem. Nice video.
thanks
2:06 that was fixed years ago when someone made the first spawner mover mod.
@@deltacx1059 yeah, but now it's fixed in vanilla mc
just say "what the #### is a silverfish mining?" it would make it even more funny
I was actually thinking about doing sth like that for a while, but I'm not sure (it would be funny tho)
0:30
the regen isnt so they dont die, its so they can keep getting regenerated, so they can get hurt again I am pretty sure
since poison doesnt kill on its own anyway
We got silverfish mining in minecraft before GTA VI💀
lmao
campfires actually damage allays faster and still dont outdamage their passive healing
I tried it on creative and its super slow. Silverfish lose the potion effect when they infect a block, so you need a ton of them. It takes a lot of time to gather so many silverfish and a lot of potions as well.
Minecraft players making farms for every mobs to extract resources from them in a very horrific method:
You could make a system for them to infect blocks, then silk touch the blocks to transport them.
I think that doesn't work
when you break an infested block with anything the silverfish will still spawn
I always love stuff like this. Little quirks of Minecraft fulky realised. The best part of this one is it was first conceptualuized by etho. Any time i stumble across vids like this it brings back memories of middle school and watching him develop his world.
Steve, are we the baddies?
i think the best way to get silverfish is the new potion that spawns silverfish when mobs take damage
yes
I called this The Gallium Mining because of the way it works
Fun fact: silverfish, like all living things outside of chordata, aren’t known to feel pain the same way we do, making them almost living machines, being able to “sense” pain but not actually “suffer” from it, sort of like taking damage in a game like Minecraft for example.
Not really true. Cephalopod molluscs and decapod crustacea for example are invertebrates, but tick off most of the criteria for appearing to feel pain, such as responding to analgesics and avoidance behaviour.
Loving that we're an isopod and a cephalopod here having a debate. :D
Some alien being could say the same about humans
This is the same as saying AI doesn't feel pain until we find out that uh oh it does and it wants revenge
theres an old version of minecraft where silverfish blocks mined by hand spawned 2. i acutally used this mining method at the time
