The "I LOVE HER" of Marketa was epic
Scar wanted to pet the panda, he likes cute things but his appearance usually scares them away.
Cartoonking1 trolls
What are you talking about Micheal93k?
He was going to kill it.
Micheal93k actually in the manga he likes animals
Micheal93k Where did you get that? Why would do that? The creator of FMA confirmed he just like cute things. You can even see proof in the opening to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 4-Koma Theater Shorts 5.
Nice observation about Ling's eyes. Whenever he's joking around, his eyes are closed as opposed to whenever he gets serious. Look for this trope/theme in the whole series. (Similar to glasses flashing/reflecting light whenever the character's motivations are unknown(Shou Tucker) or when he's putting on an appearance(Hughes/Hohenheim).
Brotherhood puts people's literal identities in their eyes(Bradley). Eyes always show the truth. And now maybe you can connect the dots with the God at the gateway.
Swapnil Batle You're giving FMA too much credit. The eyes opening and closing to show a character's true colors is an *extremely* common anime trope. Very basic stuff.
(Spoilers)
Yeah, but it is ingrained in the theme of this anime, the final lesson, the truth that Father couldn't see, the truth that can't be seen with your eyes, why the physical embodiment of truth doesn't have eyes while the god behind the gateway is just a massive eye, why the dwarf in the flask's eye is just a cheap imitation of the eye of the gateway.
It is a common trope, but the way brotherhood uses it to hammer the theme throughout the 64 episodes is noteworthy. Extensive yet subtle use. Ishvalan identities, General Grumman's glasses, Mustang hiding his eyes after Hughes' death, etc. These are well done.
@@swapnilbatle dude you read too much into something not too deep. Character with eyes close = goofy, playfull, when that character open his eyes = shit goes down
Santiago Abalde but it is possible that they decided to make it more intentional? Like yeah, it’s a common trope, but good storytelling takes those tropes and goes further with them. The trope itself ain’t that deep, but an individual use of it like this can be.
"Eyes always show the truth"
Yeah, Roy Mustang would like to discuss it
"Next episode sadness".
Bitch we gon reach a point where that's just every episode.
I don't know, that'd be more true for the 2003 version (that one was dark as hell). Brotherhood has its rough moments, but it's a lot more optimistic in tone.
@@Talyrion Definitely, 2003 version is kinda depressing, the fillers are terribly sad, even the colour scheme is dark/gray and full of rainy and melancholic scenes and plots
YO PD I DIDNT EXPECT TO SEE YOU HERE my youtube worlds colliding lol
Not at all a filler. Each of these new characters are gonna be some of the best characters in the future. Everything is connected.
Trust me, there's like little to no filler in this show, it'll all make sense eventually.
DentonXV There's like 1 or 2 episodes I can think of that are more of a filler, but not a total filler episode.
PreviousHistory then not filler,to me if it moves the story along in anyway or gives character or world building information,it's not filler but just my opinion
Lunacy's Straightjacket I agree as well. There really isn't anything ever said or shown in an episode that isn't important or brought up later.
the episode 1 is not in the manga but it gives some information.......later on the show you understand Isaac McDuglas
I would say the Miracle in Rush Valley episode is filler, but that's the only one I can think of.
Ling is neither good nor bad. He just does to get what he wants. And right now, he wants immortality to become king of his country.
He just "does to get what he wants"
[SPOILERS]
Later in the series they tell you what kind of king he wants to be and what he wouldn't do during his search for immortality. They will also give you a scene where he debates his ideology with someone special in Amestris. Pretty interesting one.
that's kind of.... greedy..
Now you have met Ling, one of the top 5 characters in the show :)
He is the top for me ;)
Roll call!! We got May, Ling, Lan Fan, and Fu! I can't wait till you all get to know these characters more.
Also, yes it's a panda :)
*+Lalisa T* Cat! :P
*TRIGGERED* IT'S A PANDA *BREATHES FIRE*
Lalisa T but they call it a cat lol
Just because they call it a cat doesn't mean it's a cat :P
they call it a weird cat actually
Some episodes may seem like filler initially, but they are actually not. Every episode offers a little bit of information. All those tiny bits of information contribute to the entire story. Don't worry, all questions you have will eventually be answered. This show does a good job of not leaving loose ends. The story really starts to pick up now. I'm excited for you guys!
this episode is the first of the "second season", and episode 14 was the finale of the "first season". theyre not really different seasons though since it aired without break (as far as i know), theyre just separated like that because of the way japan handles seasons of shows. every roughly 12/13 episodes is considered a new cour of a show because it begins airing in a new season of the year.
rockerLs part 2’s blu ray starts with episode 14
the stories in FMAB fan out across the series, then come to a point in the final episodes, its structured rather well, so don't worry about wanting to know about other stories, they all come back at some point to continue or finish it.
Yes. Navi is starting to see the major differences. The next one that'll be major to her would be the "bring you on your knees!" Moment. Can't wait for all of them to react to that episode. Actually am gonna watch that part now, lol.
"i love this show" 17:58- So do we Navi, so do we.
Ling Yao might be my fav character
Ling
I don't wanna spoil, but Xing's history, and these five newcomers tie into the series VERY heavily in a way that you may not expect until it happens. They very much deserve their own introduction, even though it does slow the pace set in season 1 quite a bit. Don't get discouraged!!
Try say it like "Shing", all "chinese" vocab that start with "X" is pronounced like a flimsy "Sh".
hazel chu
I may be mistake but i think the x sound in mandarin comes from the g so shing would be gin
Tales Azisaka nonono definitely not, that would make it a "J". Just google translate 新, the official chinese translation, literally means new. it was unclear whether arakawa meant "兴" or "新" but maybe both.
I can confirm that is how you say words starting with "x".
hazel chu
maybe 清
as someone who spent way too many years learning chinese pronounciation, this triggers me years after it was written lmao, X and SH are very different but it takes quite a lot of practice to distinguish it
close sound issues are more often: xi ji, ci and zi, shi is more an issue with chi and zhi - in this regard you can say that xi and shi and kind of the starting point of how you hold your tongue, the ci needs more breath than xi and the chi is more of a "tsch" for westerners, ji was the trickiest for me and I would write that as a tsi, sharp, the zi is a bit buzzing and the zhi is more of a dry chi, overall xi and shi aren't similar at all because xi pronounces really as "siii" whereas shi doesn't pronounce an "i" at the end. Also, xi would be
cheers to my degree. Yes, I have been scarred for life. Fuck that language and everything about it, I do speak it today, but at the cost of many years lol.
Ling Yao is my favorite character. He is freaking amazing.
4 more episodes then things get "lit"
This was just the introduction of a new part of the story. Nothing is going to be forgotten. Also, you can't really tell someone about the death of their friend over the phone. Greed left from the group before Wrath was even born, that's why he had no clue who Bradley really was.
This was what I was looking forward too. Seeing the girl in Orange react to the show as it starts throwing unknown elements at her that weren't in the 2003 show. It gives as two different reactions, people seeing the show for the first time and one person being surprised by a different version.
"I hope we learn new things" Oh trust me ^^ YOU WILL!!
Best intro is #5, that's all. Also yay new characters and now NO ONE knows what will happen hehehe!
Nora Girl nah intro and ending 4
4 is the best intro!
Khayman77 I like both opening and ending for 4 but I think ending 3 is my favorite
Honestly intro 1 is my favorite
Man, I wish i could just fast forward time until you guys are done with this series. FMA:B is my favorite anime ever, I wish I could just watch it all.
Liiiiiiing!!! That's my boi!
Amestris, the country the story is largely set in, is actually quite large and in fact, the countries of Aerugo and Creta to the south and west are smaller; being a military dictatorship, it's not so surprising that their relations with neighbours are poor. Drachma and Xing ARE enormous however, although perhaps not as densely-populated as Amestris - the former is pretty much a Russia analogue (thus habitation is scattered), the latter is more rural given its similarity to Imperial China.
These characters might seem a little out-of-place, but given time you'll see how they and their country fit into the world.
YES! The gang from Xing! They easily make FMAB ten times better than the original. So excited for more!
SPOILERS!!!!!
The main characters use alchemy to fight
hennie Kru ruined thanks
hennie Kru god damn they are only 15 episodes in they don't know that yet
hennie Kru dude what the FUCK
Cmon man way to spoil it goddamn it
You monster
Love the foreshadowing in “Envoy from the east” title
There are 4 ova episodes. I think after this episode is the perfect moment to watch the second ova.
Dont worry, you guys are gonna love all the ops and endings!
There's no different seasons. It's all one season of 64 episodes, keep in mind that everything is connected from the start till the end. There are 5 different openings =P All of them are really awesome.
5:26 best intro ever for my favorite character
You'll come to like the new characters and by then you'll be greeding for them
ATrivialMatter I see what you did there😌😌😌
ATrivialMatter yeah
Is that a pun? XD I see what you did there!
I don't envy Ling; that's for sure! ;)
These kind of comments are far less clever than you think they are.
Omg Hawkeye has the voice of erza from fairy tail 😱
Panda, Panda
Panda, Panda, Panda, Panda, Panda
Parenegade I got broads in Atlanta
Parenegade 🐼 🐼 🐼
black x6 phantom
Weird cat.
Parenegade
Twisting dope lean in the fanta
personally this intro is my favorite
"I am walking down a path of no return, so I will leave behind me every gift I've received from God."
"What?"
"He said he ain't got no name."
Funniest line yet.
Scar loves cats, so he wanted to pet the panda, which everyone thinks is a cat :D
This is totally the start of a new "season" if there's even such thing. They never felt like seasons to me, but if Netflix separated 13-14 they make no sense. Can't wait for the Normies to fall in love with Let it Out, though. :D
The guy scar killed was a state alchemist. Plus in east they study more on healing and longevity while ed and the rest worked more on material objects
All of Brotherhood's intros are great but the first one is the best (Yui - Again)!
And now the real fun begins, with them all being completely blind for what's in store...
the phosfurus phone? 😂
This anime was aired back to back weekly there are no seasons, they have something more like parts and each new part begins when there is a new intro, I believe there are 5 parts all together.
9:55 there wasn't subtitles, right? the golden one represents "alchemy technique", the blue "brother's dignity", the red one "height"
There are no spoiler episodes in FMAB, also there is no such thing as "seasons". There are episodes 1 to 64, from start to finish, so EVERYTHING is connected. Also, the guy killed by Scar at the beginning of this episode IS a state alchemist.
Not a filler! This is pretty much where the plot thickens so just wait for it.
The ending song is one of my favs!!!
Qi/Chi is pronounced as ki in Japan, so most anime will probably never say chi unless localizers will it so.
Edit: Also Xing is pronounced Shing and the reason for it is the Japanese writing system doesn't have a straight up "si" (C, see, sea) syllable, but one that is read "shi," and how we make Z sounds would translate to more of a "G/J" (gee, jing) type of sound. Regardless of how it would be pronounced in REAL Mandarin/Cantonese.
Ling was in the original series as background character he had no speaking parts and was not seen more than twice. The problem was the manga did not produce enough chapters to allow the original series to explore him.
There is little, to know filler in this show. Every episode has a purpose, and a part of the story to fill! There's new information and plot twists and plot lines in every episode, regardless of what happens! Even that one episode "Miracle in Rush Valley" was a point to the story, seeing as there was a death beforehand. An episode with a death, and an episode with a birth. The end, and beginning of life itself. Trust me, any "filler" episodes you encounter, there will be at least SOMETHING in there that has a point to the story line!
"This was a solid binge" ..
Ehm .. i finished the show in two days. o___O
Also this series has no fillers. Have you ever seen One piece or Naruto?
6:13-16 I don’t know, it gets me. 😂
All episodes (except maybe the last two) have openings, it's just that Netflix automatically skips them, but you can rewind and watch the openings, which I recommend. Other than that, love your reactions!
The end credits music is awesome, next time listen to it,haha
So in the last episode we got wrath lust gluttony greed envy and hinted at sloth I want to know where the fuck is pride
In fmab there are no separations like seasons neither arcs, that's something exclusive of Netflix
THERE IS ALMOST NO FILLER GOT THAT
This is not a filler. Every character introduced is important to the story.
The other people see that Scar is not a bad guy but he is killing indiscriminately too many people but the one with the glasses just sees the world as good and bad. The "I am with the ishvalan nation" came from nowhere and when the others countered her she just didn't reply, because she couldn't think how to respond :) . Even the other ishvalans don't agree with Scar! This show is not about good and bad as the stupid children Fairy Tales.
Scars lines are so good.
no fillers in brotherhood. each ep has a point and info ya need
Min. 11:09 in fact Winry in the manga is more aggressive with Ed, when it comes to repairing the automail that breaks it down, in the manga when she sees the auto mail all destroyed, a scene from a field happens and Winry chases Ed with a chainsaw and she tells him, "come back I have a surprise for you", and Ed tells to her "reach me if you can"👹😨😨😨
Nice one guys!
Most animes dont work like american / british tv in regard to 'seasons'. Basically most animes, specifically shonens (fma, one piece, dragon ball etc) are just one big story with various arcs. Theres no real season 1, 2, 3 etc. The term 'season' is irrelevant to story structure in anime and is purely there for like dvd / blue ray releases and to signify release dates like my hero academia season 1 for 2016 and then season 2 for 2017, but if you watched it all together you wouldnt know where one season ends and another begins really. In comparison, an american cartoon like legend of korra has a very distinct story structures for a season with a villain being introduced at the start of a season and being defeated by the end of a season. The only importance of anime seasons, atleast from my experience is that you get a new opening song and ending song. You're much better off using 'Arcs' if you want to compartmentalise the story, i.e one piece - skypiea arc ,alabsta arc, enies lobby arc, thriller bark arc, empel down arc etc etc, which is much more effective than going by seasons which could start and end in the middle of one arc.
PS, FMAB opening 3 is the best IMO
my favourite intro
i say this for every intro xD
one of the best openings
Ling! ♡♡ he is the best!!
Ling is the fucking man, he's so great. You'll see
Fullmetal alchemist: bros in the hood
Are those Normies Pops in the table? I think is the first time i see them
So, are they done with this series? Or are they gonna keep going?
As far as the "season/part breaks" I wouldn't go by the way Netflix breaks it up. Go by the intro change. Oh and I wouldn't waste time with any OVAs just stick with the main episodes. The OVAs just bring everything to a halt.
It's a sin to not fully play the end credits song, at least when it appears the first time... It's just beautiful and the scenes too.
Opening 4 is my favourite!
Dudes it will all come together just keep watching. And as I mentioned before I stop watching when you start speculating, also if you noticed Lin only open his eyes when he is talking about something serious.
yes my favorite intro arrived, its not new season tho, Japan just love multiple intros for one show lol.
Brotherhood might have a criminal lack of Black Hayate when compared to 2003, but it makes up for it by having Xiao-Mei... :)
I can't wait for episode 21
Can we talk about how the 2003 fma is much darker and more sad, I just finished that after brotherhood and holy shit, I think it would be a good series but Idk I’m just talking
The storytelling in this show is kinda f like game of thrones. You get different groups of people in different places and by the end all their storylines will intertwine. You’re in for a hell of a season. And eventually you’ll love Ling!
Ready for the tears next episode, y’all will cry over the next couple of episodes💔
op 2 is underrated because it comes after op 1
these 4 r my favs they always watch the coolest shit just 4 of them :D
Fullmetal Alchemist is my second favorite anime i like
KEEEP WATCHING. THE NEXT FEW EPISODE WILL BLOW YOUR FUCKING MINDS!!
I hope you guys make the conection with the sages story and the flashbacks...the blind wave guys didnt
Tales Azisaka Chris will
Anyone a little disappointed that the Normies' skepticism of cute children didn't kick in when they saw May?
There aren't seasons in FMAB but netflix decided to divide it.. It ran for 64 episodes straight, no seasons just one big season
This ep is rather slow because it introduced new characters. The next few episodes will be where it's at
The Phosphorous Bone
This anime has little to no filler everything that is shown will connect to something even bigger. Ling is my favorite character on this show so stick with it. Almost all the characters are likable
XING CREW IS HERE
next episode is really good and dramatic.
SPOILERS
Ed and Al lost their mother when they were little and tried human transmutation to bring her back but failed, so as a punishment Ed lost his leg and Al lost his whole body so Ed gave up his right arm to bring back the soul of his brother and bond it into a suit of armor
My fave opening
1:24 Didn't he fuck up Spike in Cowboy Bebop?
Nah, Mad Pierrot had a handlebar 'stache.
Xing's Emperor has a mad harem of 50 wives. And on top of that has 19 daughter and 24 sons.
the best show for normies to react is "steins gate"...if you like throwing down the theories, discussion and geacking the fk out after every episode, than it's the one...the smartest and best executed show ever...tu-tutu..
