  • Owned by Mr. Reese and designed, engineered, and constructed by Mr. Blosh and his team which I was glad to be a part of.
    Included was a 20-foot long suspension bridge, an 8-foot tall mountain, 280 feet of trestles and bridges, an oil refinery, two train stations, a subway, the Cheyenne WY roundhouse & turntable, a smoking wood mill, two coal tipples, two cities, an oil pump field, a 15-foot viaduct, over 4 thousand trees, and bushes, 500 cars and trucks, 1300 mammals, thousands of lights and animations, hundreds of cars and engines, and hundreds of other structures ALL in 1:29 dimensions (G-scale). This was an amazing project to work on and there were a lot of long nights to be left alone to wander in your own thoughts.
    This was perhaps one of the finest ever made. Although it was scheduled, unfortunately, it never made it to Garden Railway Magazine. However, the video finally made it here to its rightful place on RUclips. Over the course of the 4 or so years it took to build this amazing 35 by 75-foot indoor G-scale Train Layout, we learned to trust and appreciate each other's vision and we made some good friends along the way! Thank you again for letting me be a part of this amazing project!
    I apologize ahead of time for the camerawork, I make a better builder than I do a cameraman. Enjoy!

    Definitely one of the best G scale layouts I've seen for a private layout. Entertainment Junction might be the best, but that's an attraction, not private.

    This is truly an outstanding indoor layout. Can you reveal where it is located. I have had two very large G scale layouts outside, But now I am in an oversize garage. I would love to see this layout some time.

    I've seen g scale track with solid silver rails before as well,awesome model big time

      Typically the 'silver' colored track is actually stainless steel commonly used outside for its connectivity robustness. Expen$ive $tuff. Good observation 👍

      @@Shawn666Hellion Yes. True you can. I built about 2 feet of it then gave up. If you have the hours to tack wood ties, there is nothin cooler!

    Great video. I am getting back into model railroading after 50 years. But could you explain to me what is the difference between a G gauge and one gauge? And do they both run on the same track? Thank you.

    • @UtahUPman
      @UtahUPman  2 года назад

      Sure. G is used loosely in the hobby. While all G runs on the same track, you have different scales. For instance, one gauge represents 1:32 which is the true proportion (based on the track width) for standard gauge. 1:32 equipment would be MTH RK1GA, Accucraft, Aster, Samhongsa, and most brass brands, to name a few. 1:29 is the most popular in electric. It is also G scale, however that equipment is approx 10% larger. Some of those brands are Aristocraft and USA Trains. You may have more options with 1:29, but depending on what cars you run (passenger cars for example) do look awkward in a 1:32 consist; and vice-verse for 1:29. Freight cars are less noticeable using the same example. Some modelers also run 1:22.5 (nerrow gauge) on the same track. Those would be Bachmann, and Accucraft Nerrow gauge. LGB is the one odd animal. While they build some of the most robust equipment in the hobby, their scale proportions are all over the place. Some equipment looks 1:29, some appear to be closer to 1:25 or 1:22. I'm sure other guys will chime in here, but do what I do, buy and run what you love and makes you smile!
