      So what scale is this in?

  • @redengine01
    @redengine01 3 года назад +1

    1:32 is actually the correct scale for the gauge of track. g scale or 1:22.5 is oversized for the gauge and hence why the axles on g-scale stock seems very narrow compared to the body.

  • @UtahUPman
    @UtahUPman 3 года назад +4

    Actually, 1:22.5 is Nerrow gauge in G like most Bachmann. Most G is 1:29 i.e. Aristocraft, USA trains, some LGB. 1:32 is gauge 1 which is true to G scale for standard gauge i.e. MTH, Accucraft, Aster, Samhongsa.. all of which share G scale track but different size profiles. In other words, your LGB or USA passenger car will look funny and massive pulled behind these MTH engines.

    • @dwells77
      @dwells77 3 года назад +6

      Just to piggyback on Utah UPman's comment, G gauge track is 45mm wide. There are several scales that use this gauge of track, and 1:32 scale represents the prototype standard gauge of 4' 8.5" (56.5"). Consequently, 1:29 scale models should actually be running on 49.5mm gauge track to be in line with the prototype.

  • @VestedUTuber
    @VestedUTuber Год назад

    So, one slight correction... MTH's Railking 1 series is "true" 1-scale, not G-scale. This won't actually affect much since they're very similar in size and run on the same gauge, but as this is a 1:32 scale model it will be slightly smaller proportionately compared to a similar model from one of the G-scale manufacturers like USA Trains, Bachmann, PIKO or LGB and will be more in-proportion with the standard-gauge offerings from Accucraft or something from Marklin's 1-gauge line.
    For those that care, 1-scale is the more accurate scale for modeling standard-gauge equipment on 45mm gauge track, whereas 1:29 "G-Standard" scale looks better running alongside narrow-gauge (1:22.5 and 1:20.3) G-scale models, as well as on the far more common Code 332 track produced by major G-scale manufacturers.

    not sure what you mean by undersized, 1:22 is narrow gauge. if you are on standard G gauge track with a track width of 1.75 in then you are almost exact to scale for 1:32 of a standard 56.5" width train rails.
