@2:40, you confess that you made a mistake. Heck, I'm was just glad to know that you're human like the rest of us! ha ha. Then you rework the model and it comes out beautiful and perfect, so I'm back to wondering if a Model God walks among us! Another stunning display of craftsmanship raised to the level of art. Bravo, sir! And thank you for sharing your work.
If I could collect, in my opionion, the greatest race cars of all time from each sanctioning body this car would be my top LM prototype racer. You did a wonderful job David representing one of the most important race cars of all time.
Very nice. And it was a very beautiful car. I remember it winning, and to me it still looks like something sent back from the future, even after 47 years.
I enjoy your videos SO much. And I think you should know, that your skills and your impressive works helped me to restart in modelling...after a brake for more than 35 years. Keep those videos coming!!! Best regards Steen
I must say thank you you do outstanding work because of you I'm building and restoring models and hotwheels Outstanding performance in your work. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 thanks again
Lovely build as usual. I for one really appreciate how you reveal your miss-steps, and show how to correct them, to soldier on with the build; not just here, but also in others of your models I've seen you make. It is extremely helpful!!! I'm sure you said a few "bad words" when you discovered the clear coat cracking, but you "saved us" from them! LOL :D
This is what you have to listen and watch; if ever make any plans, on becoming a hobby store clerk. You just make sure that; your hobby store doesn't, ever go out of business.
Congratulations on recovering the finish on this model. It turned out spectacular. I do hope that Fujimi will offer the rumored 917 LH kit sometime soon.
You are one of the most amazing artists I have ever seen, you have such precision and accuracy with your work, that I thought the car from the thumbnail was real.
Very good technique , wouldnt have thought about that , the 3 layers of varnish + the polishing process...lot of work but the result is awsome....well above average!
Remember seeing this video a while ago, shame youtube's copyright system is not very forgiving. great to watch it again though! Keep up the good work! Thanks
Nice job. I too have had a few disasters but as long as you bounce back and learn it’s all good! My latest model exploded when I tried to push the wheels in. I almost threw it away but it came out nice in the end.
Beautiful recovery, man. I don't think I would have chucked it at the wall, but it never would have been fixed by me. When I'm done with a model, I'm ready to be done with the model. Ready for something new.
Very nice model...but I thought you knew about the problem with real car clear coat over acrylic paint...always test it first ! I learned a lot from your video, thank you!
If this is the same kit Heller molded, it’s not easy. I’m going to rebuild mine after watching your video, to connect the rear cowl. The poor fit always bothered me. Historic information, the 20 car from LeMans had a color coded green grill paint marking. #22 had yellow, #21 was red. These were matched to the side light markers. John Wyer and team realized the painted grill didn’t really work, since after the first two laps on the wet and dirty course, they were rendered useless in color. Cheers and great job!
The only thing I don't like on this model is the windshield wiper; I dind it too thick and robust. This is nothing to do with you and your expertise of course. You are one of the best modellers on YT.
Amazing job and attention to detail! I love how you made the buttons out of sprue. I have made antennas out of it before but never thought about buttons/switches!
Ah, well done. I made the same mistake with the clear coat building a Revell Jordan Peugeot 197. But that was in the 90s. Resources were rare, knowledge too. Good times.
Before you painted your orange stripe did you shoot a coat of clear first before masking? Every time I mask over my base it leave a residue behind. That’s even when I let it cure for a few days.
All of your videos are great, every single one of them. Maybe in the future some sort of build techniques series could be done. So people who have no talent or experience compared to you could try out some of these processes you use to achieve such great models.
This is the old video but reloaded. I had some problems with copyright. It is always great fun :-D
What was the copyright issue? Just curious...
Jake Darling Yeah me too,
PLASMO - plastic models didn't he have a part of the race scene in it
PLASMO - plastic models music? or Porsche being a bitch?
I had in the video one-minute movie scene from "Le Mans 1971". Big deal :-D
I discovered PLASMO three days ago. These videos are simply addictive. Repainted the car. I'm impressed.

I wish I could fail upward too.
@@jgo1961 It may look like the Sol aire CX-4, but it's really not.
Humans don't confess, they hide and blame each other

Thank you. The 917 is absolutely iconic. Superb build.
Seriously? This is museum quality results. Absolutely beautiful. Thanx for sharing.👍👍

@Asif Ifas he is czech actually :D
Nvm
Such a classic race car. Splendid modeling skills.
Very nice. And it was a very beautiful car. I remember it winning, and to me it still looks like something sent back from the future, even after 47 years.
Great to see you come back to this build and give it justice. Thanks for the update David. Turned out nice!
Great build video. You did a good job of repairing the painting mistake and also learned how to replace all the decals.
I enjoy your videos SO much. And I think you should know, that your skills and your impressive works helped me to restart in modelling...after a brake for more than 35 years. Keep those videos coming!!! Best regards Steen
Great paintjob on one of the greatest cars in history.
Your painted stripes and details are so much better and more authentic looking than the decals... outstanding job guy.
What an amazing job, a very high level of craftsmanship. I wish I could purchase that 917 he built.
I've got this one as well, and i was pleased with myself for even finishing, but you... this guy is an artist.
I can almost hear the turbos howling! What an awesome model!!
Same here, friend!! :)
Good to know that you should not always give up and errors can be corrected. The model looks great. thanks David.
I must say thank you you do outstanding work because of you I'm building and restoring models and hotwheels
Outstanding performance in your work. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 thanks again
Beautifully done Plasm, looks like Pedro Rodriguez could jump right in and win the pole at Spa!

⭐️just WOW !!⭐️ ....there is talent... and then there is a level beyond skill that I don’t know the word for 👍

Fantastic build - if mine were half as good I would be over the moon - well done love watching a master at work - thanks !!
The detail is insane! It even shines!
.your work is exemplary. being one that loves model cars. have learned much from your technique.
Fujimi models aren't exactly detailed such as Tamiya but you turned this into a masterpiece! Keep it coming
I appreciate Fujimi for doing older models, I mean, a lot of them.
Wonderful !!!! Congratulations !!!! Thanks for sharing your experience
The satisfaction of pealing the tape away and seeing all that hard-work turn into something bueatiful.
Man, you both inspire me and set me to despair on why would I bother making a model...
You did justice to my favorite paint scheme. Well done
Wow, that is one of the most beautiful scale models I have ever seen! The panel detail is amazing!
You are one of the most amazing artists I have ever seen, you have such precision and accuracy with your work, that I thought the car from the thumbnail was real.
Superb job. I envy the steady hands!
2:31 this is why I subscribed. Love your attention to details
Very good technique , wouldnt have thought about that , the 3 layers of varnish + the polishing process...lot of work but the result is awsome....well above average!

Awesome. Great save. My favorite lemans car of all time. We need a 1/8 scale version

You're amazing! I admire your patience and skill greatly.
I just received this model after looking at this video. I have since watched it again and guess what..will watch it again soon enough! Keep it up
I love this video, makes me smile because I know how great it feels to successfully fix something after having it go so horribly wrong.
Great models! Love this channel and your dedication!
Amazing work. You are a true craftsman.
Once again, I'm inspired. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful work.
Your method of making dash buttons is genius... I can't wait to try it!(melting and stretching black sprue). I love to learn new stuff...
